Can't wait to see/hear about it. I'm actually that interested that I went to look at Motec to see what's involved in fitting one and I kind of gave up were it goes on about inputs/outputs etc. I would love to do something like this myself, but I don't have that much knowledge on the electronics involved in getting a car like this to run.

WTB foglight switch for australian gen 6 camry
DJKOR replied to private number's topic in WTB: Want To Buy Section
Have you priced one up from Toyota? I wouldn't imagine it being that expensive, but if they quote you like $35 or something, let me know and I'll get it for unit price. You will have to note that for the Gen 6 Carmy, there is no specified fog light switch that is designated to be placed in those cutouts beside the steering wheel. This is because the fog light switch goes on the indicator stalk. Two options here: 1) You can hope a switch from another Toyota model that has the fog light switch in the side panel will fit on your Camry. Personally I think this won't work judging from the problem you have encountered already. Or 2) Use another switch that is made to go in that position, bearing in mind that the symbol on it will be different. Such examples are the parking sonar switch or rear sun shade switch. -
Is it just me, or are 2008 Camry headlights dull ?
DJKOR replied to Forest Boy's topic in Camry Club
I already got the idea you were after brighter lights due to the nature of the post. This is why I'm saying that putting in these Calibre bulbs is not going to fix your current problem at hand. The OEM Phillips/Osram bulbs used by Toyota are quite bright enough as they are and when you change it out for other bulbs of the same classification (ie. the Calibre bulbs), you aren't going to gain anything that is enough to make a different. You are better stepping up to a bulb like the Osram Nightbreaker or equivalent. Sure you need to pay more for it, but it's better than wasting 30 bucks on a new set of bulbs that is going to do SFA. BTW, I had used Calibre bulbs before in my old Camry prior to selling it. They were just about the same as every other halogen 55W bulb. -

Feel free to change your OEM Phillips or Osram bulbs if you think putting the Calibre ones in will be an improvement. It's your money. -

If it's the facelift, it would be the Gen 6.5. Never assume. Double check the manual... or even look at the bulb itself just to be sure. If you are just going to replace witht he Super Cheap house brand, then I wouldn't bother changing your lights at all. You aren't going to achieve anything. If you absolutely must, use a clean cloth or cotton glove. It's extremely easy to handle the bulb without touching the bulb surface. You just grab onto the back of it and handle it that way. If you aren't able to do so, maybe you shouldn't change the bulb at all because it would indicate that you aren't taking enough care. Once you get your hand in there, it is just twist and pull. -
Welcome mate. Would e nice to see you out at one of our weekly meets. I don;t think we have had a Gen 6 Camry there yet. So much better looking than the Corolla Sportivo.

Just because you can't see any condensation inside your lights now, doesn't mean that it is completely gone. Temperature and humidity can affect it. Just letting your know in case you come back another day wanting to say that it has come back.

It's hard to make a judgement on how it would sound before you fit it. Unless someone else has done the exact same setup (which I don't think has happened), then there is no way to determine how it will sound. The Aurion is pretty touchy with it's exhaust. Some things it likes, some things it doesn't. Personalty though as a starting point, if you don't want any drone, then don't remove your resonator completely.

The small plastic drain tube remains perfectly intact after you remove it from the oil filter cap. The whole sideways motion is just so that it comes off easily. Think about it. If it broke, you would have part of the drain tube stuck inside the filter housing which would be a problem. Hows the Motec?

To save time and hassle, if you attempt this method, try to find a way to have the bulb sit in there whilst being on... WHILE... somehow allowing airflow into there. Otherwise you get a greenhouse effect in there and the water goes nowhere.

What did you do to your car today?
DJKOR replied to JustinW's topic in General Toyota & Other Car Discussions
Drove it to the Coast and back. That's about all really. Also sped past two cops on bikes parked on the side of the road behind a concrete barrier. I went past at 105-110km/h in a 90km/h zone. Was one of those whole slow motion type things where I even upward nodded at them while they stared back with a not so happy look on their face. Yeah I know speeding is bad mkay... but my point being is that I think these cops here are getting pretty crappy with their LIDAR. This is now the third occasion where I have been extremely lucky. I should really stop pushing my luck. -
LOL. You're missing the tip on how to remove it. Hmmm. I've never had the issue before so I don't know what works best. If this happened to me, I would try taking the lights out and placing them on a dry cloth (to prevent scratches) in the sun with the bulb socket facing up (with bulb removed of course). If that fails, I'd take out the hair dryer and then see if that helps. As I said, it's just what I would attempt. Don't know if it would even work though.

Find someone's car and hide one behind the dash hard-wired in. Then try and lock their radio onto the modulator channel. Hehehe.
-
But 6km/h tolerance in a 60km//h zone is 10% Joking aside, they mention in their FAQ's that: I wonder if they are close to that end.

Reminds me of this... although this is a fake compared to that thing you have posted: VroomBox Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!

I think those have been there for a quite a while. They are even signed as such. Canberra also has a few of them. Off topic slightly, for us Queenslanders, they will be trailing a point-to-point speed camera this year on the Bruce Highway, Caloundra Road to Wild Horse Mountain, Beerburrum. This will be said to cover a 13km stretch of road. If they like how that goes, it means we may see more of these around. Yeah, yeah. For those that are just wanting to say it... yes it can all be avoided by sticking to the limit.

I knew this was going to happen. When something like this occurs, there are posts everywhere all over the forum talking about it, yet people still don't search. The only issue I have with this is that it just causes all kind of un-necessary panic because there are stories going on everywhere and people start jumping to conclusions. Seems that Toyota Engineering stuffed up! International Toyota recalls. STICKING ACCLERATOR PEDAL RECALL Toyota Pedal Recall Information Basically, the Australian Camry and Aurion is safe because we have the Denso pedal. Taken from "International Toyota recalls.": It doesn't actually affect the pedal travel. You need to read the article with a bit more depth to see how it all comes together. Basically the shim is used to reduce friction on the teeth:

Edit: I re-read your thread and I think you might be a bit mixed up. You can't run your speakers directly off the RCA outputs on the rear of the head unit. These are just line level outputs that output a low level signal prior to amplification so that you can connect and external amplifier which will then take this clean(er) signal and amplify it (cleanly providing you get a half decent amp) so that you can feed your speakers a good signal. To give you an idea of how low this level is, if you were to connect headphones directly to those RCA outputs, it will be reasonably quiet. Adding an amplifier would be a good choice. This will enable you to get more potential out of your speakers. After all, you are replacing the retentively low quality amplifier in the Auspack unit with a higher quality external amplifier built with clarity in mind. Go do your drag first though.

Integrating this in somewhere would be interesting. Just need to find somewhere that will work and provide ease of access. Hehehe... custom door trim or centre console mounted. Edit: My bad for not providing the link. I was referring to another knob... not the one you plan on putting on the fascia: http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/powermate

Seems that Toyota Engineering stuffed up!
DJKOR replied to mowog's topic in General Toyota & Other Car Discussions
My best response would be.... Meh. To be honest, I am really not phased by all this. -
Off Topic... a little. If I had a choice.... I would buy a Sony Ericsson again. Two reasons, an awesome camera (better still photos than a Nokia.. though Nokin wins on video), and it has TrackID. Now I don't want to hear the whole "iPhone has Shazzam story". TrackID sh**s all over Shazzam and was created first... yet Apple gets the praise with Shazzam. Now I'm starting to rant on.

Also my comment to justify this as well which was on the first page of the other thread where the OP posted this same question/statement: General camry questions/answers

Spotted what had to have been ZZR88 heading outbound on the Pacific Motorway approaching the Mains/Klumpp Road exit at about 5:38pm. If if wasn't you, then I guess it was a nice looking black Sportivo Aurion with HID's.

It's a 70 litre tank. I don't know where you got 60 litres from.
-
Depends on whether you are driving and at what speed, and if you are on an incline/decline. Generally for the Aurion, on level ground and travelling at approximately 110km/h, if your fuel light comes on, you have about 20-25 litres left in the tank.
