How did you find out whether the lights have cameras or not? I know sounds like a stupid question, of course it'll have cameras somewhere around it.. *Duh*. I mean, U can't really pay attention to evry lights and scan around the areas. Even sometimes the cameras aren't meant for the path you were in. It's called being observant. It's pretty hard not to see a red light camera... especially the bulky a** ones in Sydney. Everybody is different, but I can spot these things. In most cases, If u tried to reverse to avoid the blocking, u'r fine. I reckon the line is only a rough guide of where you should stop. exceeding it by a 'reasonable' amount wouldn't get you any penalty, given under certain circumstances. Good to see you really read your road rules. The white line is called a stop line for a reason. For the Queensland side of things, they even wrote this out to make sure it is known:
