Well, thanks to work changing the schedule of things, Canberra has been put back another couple of weeks or so, which means I finally got a chance to pick the stuff up. Unfortunately I don't think I can fit it for at least another few days because of work. Not a conclusive test because it was only quick testing, but on my drive back from Melbourne, I had just about the exact same fuel consumption using 91 RON, 95 RON, and E10. If you are are driving the car just for highway driving and not accelerating hard etc, then fuel consumption shouldn't really vary between the different fuels, which is understandable when you consider the purpose of the octane rating. I'm not sure about the statement of 91 being more efficient than 95, but any number of factors could be at play. Well apparently, all grades of fuels contain the same detergents that make it healthier for the engine. So whether it be 91 or 95, you should still get those benefits. From what I've heard, the only fuel with different types of additives to the rest is BP Ultimate. Just what I heard though.

I've considered getting a bunch of those from somewhere cheap and then going around a car park and fitting them to random cars then stripping the head off the screw that holds it in place. Couldn't agree more. Some cars just have more than others (and some just happen to be perfect). It's not like each car is sprayed by hand.

Which calculator did you use? From the tire calculator I use says 2.941% too fast meaning that when your actual speed is 100km/h, your speedo will read 102km/h. This is the one I use: 1010 Tires - Tire Size Calculator So long as you stay within 3%, you should be fine. You can go outside of this, but when you do that, you start to play around slightly with handling and braking. Actually the Sportivo does: AT-X: 215/60R16, Diameter: 664.21mm, Circumference: 2086.6mm Sportivo: 215/55R17, Diameter: 668.27mm, Circumference: 2099.3mm To answer that specific question, the only difference is 3.81mm in diameter and 11.9mm in circumference. These tire sizes would not be recommended however.

Well fancy that. What a small world it is, LOL. Yeah, it wasn't quite nice at first cause it was covered in dried salt water from the rain the other day. Had to run down to get some connectors for work and rinsed it down on the way back.

From what I have heard about how it all works, the passenger side occupant sensor is there so that in a crash, if there is no one sitting in the passenger seat, the passenger side air bag will not deploy. This also means that if you remove this sensor and a passenger is sitting in the seat, they may not have the airbag deploy in a collision.

Disconnecting them can be considered as playing around with them if you didn't do it properly. When you did this, I hope you disconnected your battery first then waited 90 seconds before touching the airbag wiring. If not, consider yourself lucky. Even thought they have measures in place to try and reduce the risk of accidentally setting it off, disconnecting airbags with power still applied to the airbag ECU has the potential to cause them to be set off. Just giving a heads up to anyone else attempting this.

Mine still works while going downhill. It pretty much cuts the throttle as I go downhill, but thanks to the laws of gravity, the car will pick up speed depending on hill. If I do not touch the brakes, when I get back on level ground, it will coast until set speed is reached and then continue to maintain speed. This I see as cruise control doing it's job. If I hit the brakes however to avoid accelerating over the limit, then cruise control turns off as per it's design.

Last time I was around that place was last Friday night/Saturday morning (2nd/3rd October). I was parked half on the kerb ON Marshal Lane. Was busy getting plastered at my mate's place across the road.

When it comes to stuff like this, your local audio store would know stuff all except for sending it away for repair, or try to sell you a new one. With technology these days, for something like a car amp, it would be more cost efficient to replace than repair.

That is true. That said though as I mentioned earlier, in Brisbane the cops only seem to enforce it depending on the day they are having. I have driven past many cops (including an Aurion cop with HIS fog lights on) and haven't been stopped. Not saying it's fine to have them on, just saying that most of the time you may be pretty lucky. With all that said though, the only person in this thread considering the idea is Adamsy and he lives in Tassie. They may be even more relaxed about it so for him, this modification may be alright.

Shame to see such a good Aurion move on from it's original modifier. So much effort was put into that car and was the envy of many other Aurion owners out there. Hope the Colt brings you much more enjoyment of a different kind mate.

That's pretty good news there PaulMT. Very lucky they changed the whole rack as well. I haven't had any steering issues (yet), so I'm hoping I can hold it off for a little longer. I guess I will have to take the approach of changing the rack end. as it would work out the most cost efficient for me. Big bummer it's not a warranty job for me, but I guess I can't complain really because of the price I payed for this car.

They sure are a sealed unit in the sense that all you can remove are the bulbs.

Spotted this morning along the Bruce Highway on my way to Hervey Bay: A new facelift Camry Altise, silver... ... complete with dark tinted windows, antenna stuck to upper left of rear window, and LED lights on the parcel shelf and in centre of dash. First Camry d-car I've seen.

I would say that the difference in feeling you get here is due to the different gear ratios. Your first gear ratio is 4.235:1 whereas your reverse gear is 3.378:1. What this means is that you have slightly more torque when starting to go forward in first than when starting to go backwards in reverse. A way to think about it is to get a manual car and compare the effort required to take off in first, then repeating the same thing but in second. Each car is different, that's why your previous car may have responded differently. For example, my Aurion has a first gear ratio of 3.300:1 and a reverse gear ratio of 4.148:1. This means that my reverse gear is more responsive than my first gear. You mentioned wet conditions so this would be the first thing I would think of when taking off from the lights. Do you have the 2WD or AWD? FWD are pretty easy to get some slip in the wet which can cause this shuddering feeling. I'm not sure about on the highway though. May not be this all together. Someone else with a Kluger should give opinions/experience.

Stop being SOFT! LOLOLOLOLOL!!!! I find day time runs like 1.5x slower than night runs (and 3x harder for myself to keep up with a night pace). Scare factor is about 2x during the day when compared to night. As Mick and I said, during the day, you see you impending death so much easier. I love night runs. Give you more focus on the road. Damn, I was really looking forward to Nebo this Thursday.

Too bad they cost like a 1/4 the cost of my car. Yeah, but that would just be the cheaper way out. The way I see it, if you are going to open the headlights, then go the extra step to custom fit some LED's.
