Be careful about what you think VSC actually is. It is just a driving aide to help you regain control in unforeseen circumstances. It is not there to be a substitute for good driving skills. It won't always be able to correct every out of control scenario, but it will try to do what it can so hopefully you may not end up off the road. It won't forcefully 'straighten' the car while cornering. It will correct itself so that it will continue along the direction that the front wheels are facing. It will only go in another direction if you turn the wheels in another direction. When traction control is active, you only make the situation worse by trying to correct the slide too quickly.

Cheaper than Sci-Fleet Taringa.

Southside here at Wooloongabba wouldn't be too far off then. That process sounds exactly the same as what it has been like every time I've taken my car in for a service. They have two service lanes, and you drive through one of them and stop at the sign at the end. They then come to you, or you can go to them besides the lane and they take out your service documentation. They then ask for any special requests and if you have problems you have noticed. They then ask what time you would require it by and then they will take it from there. Despite the fact they didn't really find what my knocking problem was, their service is quite good there.

Grrrr. Event was cancelled due to the dust storm on its way... or the low amount of dust in the air. I dunno. I'm just annoyed.

For anyone wanting HID's in a non-HID equipped car, I would highly recommend doing a HID projector retrofit. The process itself is basically the same regardless of the car, so generic instructions can be used as a guide. It involves a bit of fidly work, but in the end it will pay off. It definitely isn't for someone who is not confident with some serious DIY because getting it all perfectly aimed is quite a task. Here is the process for a Gen 6 Camry, just adapt to suit the Aurion: RX AFS Retrofit Progress

looking for aurion pictures and mods
DJKOR replied to Armstrong's topic in General Toyota & Other Car Discussions
You should have taken a look around the Aurion section firstly. Maybe looking at the FAQ there would have been a great starting point. I am yet to update it, but it's roughly the same. Question 3: And searching for 'bodykit' will yield these results: http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...lite=%2Bbodykit And no, there is no Aurion in the States. They do have a V6 Gen 6 Camry which is basically the same, just different on the outside. And recently, the only Australian site offering local bodykit parts for the Aurion is Carmate: http://www.carmate.com.au/ -
Talk about an epic thread revival. The last post here was over 5 years ago.

Can roughly point out in a pic what areas you are talking about? I can point it out. I kind of agree with Jase as well. It is a fairly valid point: See how on the coilover, the bottom hub attachment point is just welded on: Whereas on stock struts, the attachment point wraps around. This is a KYB strut, but you get the idea:

Already has been. It's the Gen 6.5 Camry. The Camry here has even had the same facelift. I've seen quite a few of them on the road already. They have been doing this for a while. It's just to keep things fresh as you say. Oh dear G***. If such a thing comes out and someone buys them... they should be shot.

Tempting, but I don't want to spend $1600 just for new tail lights.

It doesn't sound like your tires are scrubbing cause that sound is like a pfft pfft pfft sound. Unless of course your unlucky enough to have the tires rubbing on the metal bodywork in the wheel arches. Best way to rule this out is to inspect your wheel arches for signs of scrubbing. Sounds nearly like a suspension bush is running a little dry. But hard to say really without checking it out in person. I'm not sure of the dynamics of it so someone else could comment, but can bump stops create any noise when being subjected to compression? I know the bump stops in the Aurion play a part in the spring rate because there isn't much suspension travel before the bump stops make complete contact and start behaving as part of the overall suspesnsion.

Great stuff mate. It's good to see something being worked on from basically the ground up. It's amazing to see it's progress.

This is also where things start to get a little funny. See, Elgin put twin cannon style resonators on the rear of his TRD and left the centre resonator in place. This created a slightly louder tone outside of the car which sounded quite smooth. Inside the car however, it droned like crazy. It was much louder inside the car than out. When I had my cut-out which was located just after the centre resonator, this created a deep tone which when held at around 3000-4000 RPM, would be deep enough to be heard over a good distance. It would also set off car alarms within a short distance. The way to describe it was like the drone that Elgin got, but instead of inside the car, it was outside of it. Inside the car, it sounded a little deeper because you could hear it better, but there was never any droning.

Nah. I sat parked at behind that truck at the lights for a couple of minutes and that was one thing I payed attention to. Same size and same tips showing through the centre. The pipework was so shiny though. Not all rusty coloured like mine I just had to check it out. I was parked at a massive intersection (Mains Road/Kessels Road) about 5 cars back and saw this truck drive through while I was waiting to turn. First thing I spotted was the clear tail lights and thought, that looks like a Mazda or something (mainly because of the colour). A couple of seconds later it clicked and there I was waiting impatiently for the lights to change. When they did, I just had to catch up to it to have a look since I was already going that way home.

I reckon it would be quite fun if you're game. This guy seems to love all 520HP of it: Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!

Since you clicked on the link, you should probably read more as well Rowan: Anyways, so what if he blew his engine? That is his lesson to work on. I don't hear anyone else attempting to boost their 2GR, so this guy should get some credit at least.

Remember, it's not just power. The total weight of the car plays a big part as well.
-
Actually, quite the opposite. I reckon there is not enough sound deadening on the Aurion (though I like it that way :P). I get what you mean though. You have to remember that within the car, you have both the parcel shelf and rear seat in the path of the bass before it gets to you inside the car. It's not going to be anything like a hatchback, but there is only so much you can do. On the sound deadening topic, from my knowledge, I believe the lack of sound deadening will partially cause you to have less bass inside the car. The reason for this is because any surface exposed to the bass that is allowed to flex (even that which can't be seen) will absorb the bass. By using sound deadening, you reduce this flex and improve the amount of bass that is transferred.

Not necessarily. Remember Evan (and everyone else), this is your first time at the drags. Though possible, you aren't expected to pull your best time straight up.

Hopefully Paul (now 'Princess Peach' once again) won't mind me resposting this, but here is a little news for those here wondering if the 2GR-FE can be boosted. Well... apparently it can. Everything is still under wraps, but just some words on it: Turbo Camry Gen 6-6.5 V6 and Gen6 I4 - Gen 5 & 6 - Toyota Forums :: Toyota Nation

HOLY S*** man! I love those rims. They were one of my first choices when I was looking at new wheels. Suits your car so much better though.

+1 +1 +1. That machine sounded orgasmic.

Okay. You win this time mate. I got close enough to be able to say that the new tail lights do really look quite good in person. I was really dreading that would happen. Ignore the crappy camera phone photos, but looks like this one was on it's way somewhere. The chrome trim around the clear tail lights really does work.
