  1. I do hear it has a great variety of oriental cuisine. But yeah, I'm definitely in for dinner and watching people drift.
  2. The pipe plus gaskets set me back $45.30 including GST. When the guy from Toyota called to say I was on my way there (to Lexus), he told the guy at Lexus to sell it to me at trade price. I don't think he did/could since $45 seems to be the going price for these parts. I'm sure it would be covered under warranty, but I couldn't be bothered trying to jump through their hoops. My guess is that they will only change it once it leaks or until a TSB is released (which as far as I'm aware, there isn't), which is just too risky. I never asked them though so that's just a prediction.
  3. Well it looks like I have myself a task for the weekend. I guess I'll give it a shot first and if I'm not that skilled, I'll get Toyota to do it on the next service in 5000km. I headed into my local Toyota spare parts department (because they give me trade price there), and inquired about the part. It brought up a diagram on the screen which showed the rubber hose however. The guy said that they don't actually have it in stock, but it was showing them available at Lexus just down the road. He said he will give them a call and ask them to look at it, and when he called up, the guy on the other end knew exactly what he was looking for. So I headed down to Lexus, and now I have all the bits I need to swap them over.
  4. Thought I would post in nice an early. I will be at the meet tomorrow. For a change, I'll head there at 8pm.
  5. Was it really necessary to start a new thread? Should have dumped this response in the Fuel Consumption thread. Oh well. What's done is done.

On a side note, those Audi LED lights can dazzle me all they want. Those things are sex in LED form. They especially look good from a hundred metres or so. And don't get any ideas. These on any other car but an Audi is just trying too hard.

It depends on how the cop sees it. If it sits in a position that is away from the headlights, they can still get you for it saying it's fog lights or it can 'dazzle' other drivers. You may get away with it for most of the time, but all it will take is the wrong cop to see it.
  8. I know i_is_raf has an 02 Ascent. Raf's Clean Green Rolla Ascent Might not be what you're after, but it's a start.
  9. ... When your system draws more current than the starter motor and you can't start your car.
  10. I own an Aurion which has more pull than the Commonwhore mentioned in this thread, and in terms of the fun factor, I'd be picking a Corolla Sportivo. It may only be 4 cylinders, but just because it has 2 less cylinders, doesn't mean it's less powerful. Power-to-weight makes a big difference. I'll reserve my comments for the recent move you have just made. I'll just say, good luck with it. What do you expect. You came into a Toyota forum and said you bought a Holden. It's like joining in on a protest only to be holding a sign supporting the wrong side.
  11. Only just came across this now. Now we can just look back and laugh. LOL. Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  12. Looks nice and neat. By the way, that is more of a SRI than a true CAI. As well, put your front snorkel bit back on like shown in the attached photo and K&N installation sheet: Photo: http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc23/de...ry/IMG_0021.jpg Installation: http://www.knfilters.com/instructions/69-8611_inst.pdf It appears that K&N designed that heat shield in a way that allows the original snorkel to remain in place to feed it some cooler air.
  13. From everything you have described, you will be fine. Your brakes would have been bled by Toyota so the system should be in good running order. As SuperDave has said, the compound of the brake pads themselves can create different 'feels' and I would say this is the main reason. I have a set of Bendix CT's in my Aurion and I reckon they feel a little on the soft side. They pull the car up really nicely, but they aren't quite up there in terms of feeling sharp on a light press. Needless to say, they won't be in there for long.
  14. Since I've got some time tomorrow, I have booked myself in for a new set of tires. My stock rims are 17x7's and the tire size specified by Toyota is 215/55R17. I thought I'd take the plunge and upsize it to 225/50R17. Hopefully the fatter look won't have any serious disadvantages. If I get no benefit from this tire size either, I will change back to the original size next time since the difference in price is $45 ($235 vs $280). Should be nice and bedded in for September as well.
  15. All Aurion's here, regardless of Smart Entry or not, have basic alarm and immobiliser package that monitors the doors, boot, and bonnet only. There is no glass breakage detection. As for the TRD bodykit, have a look in the FAQ for details on how you should approach this matter. It's not going to be easy to get a hold of a genuine one.
  16. Quick question. Why is the main stretch of the Spit closed off?
  17. Everyone has bailed. Wasn't really showing interest yet. Needs a time with more people around I guess.
  18. I used to frequent mIRC until ICQ took over my online chat habits. I used to love how ICQ could start a live chat where you see what they type as they type it. Then after that it was MSN Messenger for me. Been with that ever since.
  19. I remember those. Aurora Bass Shakers they used to be called. They are effective, but inside a car they lose some of their potential. On top of that, you'll then have to add another amp or two to drive them, plus they weigh quite a bit because it's like a subwoofer but instead of moving a cone, it moves a large metal mass.
  20. The main thread is over here, and the links to the maps are in the first post: Brisbane Meetup (Every Thursday 9pm) If it's not raining, it will be at the loop (Fitness Centre on Gregory Terrace, Spring Hill), or if it's raining, it's at Albion Station. Usual meetup time is 9pm, but this week we're going to trial an 8pm start.
  21. Hey mate. Welcome to the club (in a way since this was like your third post over the years). You should stop over at one of our weekly meets. It would be good to have some more Toyota's there for a change.
  22. I can't believe that I actually downloaded that (as per link above) and sat through the whole thing. Though, the only reason that kept me watching it was... Oh yeah! <high five>
  23. Well, scrap the teaser from a few posts up... for now anyways. There has been a minor hurdle (springs are good to go, shocks not so promising) which has kind of pushed the plans to lower my Aurion back onto the drawing board. In other words, to do it all properly, I would need a set of Aurion strut assemblies, or sacrifice mine which would equate to time spent off the road. This has in a way though got me thinking about it again. Is it really worth lowering my Aurion? Are the benefits really THAT significant? Considering this car is only going to see a track day once or twice a year, I don't personally think it is necessary to go crazy with it. I do like to do the occasional mountain run, but there is only so much that you can push it and it does alright on stock suspension as it is. I will be keeping this car for a bit and since it is a daily driver and it does carry people every so often, is it really worth lowering? Half of me wants to go ahead and do so, the other half of me says not to bother. It sure is a satisfying idea to lower it and I'm sure I'll like it if I did it, but I don't know if later down the track I'll still be happy.
  24. I will always care about my bass. It's just not the same when there is a buzzing going on at the back while trying to enjoy the beat. Turning the bass down is just not an option. It's like saying if your car has the ability to go 0-60 really quick but has traction issues, do you just settle for what the available traction limits you to, or do you improve the traction. Speaking of traction, new tires are in order for this week so with some careful driving, I should be all set (minus suspension... that's another story) for September.
  25. Not unless you have put on a power antenna for some odd reason.
