  1. I love that corner at Coot-tha. It seems to be on the right uphill grade and turn to be able to put your foot down and just pull the back around.
  2. ^ You gotta keep working on your car more. Your hands will get tougher over time. :lol

Evan, I trust you not to butcher my car so I would only mind if you had a go at it. I have a whole bunch of photos (pre-eyelids) available here: http://djkor.com/coppermine/thumbnails.php?album=7 Just click on the photo (after clicking on the thumbnail) to get the originals. Since it has no eyelids, it gives you a chance to add some different ones, or work around it not having it. Take you pick. Only if you have the time to do it. Feel free to add what you want. A good solid drop, new wheels (even chunky race wheels), carbon/black bonnet, etc. I don't know... go nuts.
  4. We've already got plans for a monthly dinner. I would only be interested in attending just one of these per month, and I have already made up my mind which one I'd go for, so that rules me out for any others.
  5. You guys need to get into the habit of listening to loud music. All these problems seem to just fade away afterwards.

Did you want it black because it's easier to paint that way Nathan :P
  7. OMG. Please, please, please come out. I haven't heard a good whining supercharger in ages.
  8. Hence my first couple of sentences. I was only giving general advice. If you wanted some pointer with a little more depth, you can just Google for them, such as this, but as I said, you may be waiting for a while if you want engine specific instructions.
  9. Lots of cars these days have the screw in tow points through the front bumper. The Kluger DOES have these as well and actually has one on each side compared with sedans that only have just one. You can clearly see their position in this photo:
  10. I think we are the only state with the weekly meet. We rock.
  11. This is why I recommend the Bosch blades. When you go and buy them for the Aurion, they come in a complete arm and blade replacement. You don't get any of those problems then.
  12. I can see that you're not quite getting an answer here. Unfortunately this board has a large percentage of Corolla owners and also more of the modern cars, so getting specific advice may take a while... if it ever comes at all. If you plan to change the springs, maybe the seals while you are at it, you can get by with just your basic tools required to work around you engine (such as a socket set, spanners, etc), and then it would also help to have an air compressor, and a valve spring compression tool. Once you have removed the rocker cover and all bits and pieces between that and the valves, removing the valve springs is pretty straight forward. Basically you remove the spark plugs, turn the engine so that the cylinder you are working on is top dead centre, then you apply compressed air into the cylinder at around 75psi or there abouts (through the spark plug area). This will keep your valves pushed up against the top of the head so that you can go ahead and remove the valve spring without dropping the valve into the cylinder. Drop the valve into the cylinder and then you will need to remove the head.
  13. Super Cheap usually carry a pretty wide range. They have a book there to cross-reference the appropriate part number. If they run out of stock there, just try another.
  14. I think I'll stick to Queensland. We have a nice track here where I can get some good comparative figures with everyone else. Plus I risk losing my license if I go to NSW. With only one point left to spare, it won't be hard for me to lose it interstate.
  15. Come on guys. I want to see people taking their Aurion's out to the track. Or are you too soft?
  16. Seems like a plan. I'm in.
  17. Sounds good to me. I'm pretty flexible. Cheap food is a bonus after spending $1140 on tires.
  18. I remember you mentioning that to me. I had a look and thought, this will be interesting to bend my arm around through there to change the pipe. The way I see it is that if some guy at Toyota can do it, I'm sure I could. I guess this Saturday I will find out. Surely they wouldn't have to hoist the engine out right? Hopefully it won't make too much of a mess when taking the old pipe off.
  19. Just looking at it, if you get some good plastic weld you should be able to attach the tab back on with no issues. I can't remember the name of the stuff, but I remember it was this power that you mix with super glue and it bonds plastic like cement. As for the fitment, it looks like you will have to do a little bit of some custom work. Just start by taking your current grill out and trying to fit the TRD one. That way you can get an idea of how it all lines up and what needs to be removed/added to get it to work. If it were me, I'd be using cable ties to hold the bottom half in, and then working on a solution for the top half.
  20. I just re-read your original post there Wulfkind. I was out in the waiting room of Bridgestone when I replied so I didn't get the full gist of the question. What is it in particular that you are having issues with on the wipers. Is it remaining water because it doesn't wipe the entire surface, or is it water remaining on the passenger side wiper arc? I have noticed that on the return sweep, the drivers side wiper flings water over onto the section of glass that is covered by the passenger side wiper. If this is the problem you speak of, then there isn't too much you can do about it as it is a design fault. If it's the wiping issue, my solution is to try Bosch wipers as mentioned previously. Not a guaranteed fix, but I've only have good experience with Bosch wipers.
  21. I got myself a new, all metal VVT-i oil line for my Aurion, and a new set of Adrenalin's in 225/50R17. It feels so nice to have so much meat on my tires again. Now the hard task of taking it nice and easy until the track day in September. The different between this size tire and the one I had before is that these are made in Australia, and the others were made in Japan. Hopefully the quality of the ones made here hold up the same or even better.
  22. Okay, so I got back from getting my new tires. So far in terms of looks, they aren't quite as fat looking as I expected. I guess once I give them time to bed in, I will be able to see whether they perform slightly better. Before: After:
  23. I think the Aurion was only fixed a few months into 2009. The best way to tell is by looking under the bonnet for yourself.
  24. Don't tell me someone out there looks like me. I only drove as far as Indro and Sunnybank today. Unless my car has been sneaking out on me.
  25. Get some Bosch wiper blades. Head over to Super Cheap Auto, Repco, or Autobarn, and use the book there to find out which replacement you need. On a side note, I still have the original wipers on mine and have no issues yet.
