  1. Drew mentioned you had a little more kick to it after fitting it. Now if that's the case, we need to figure out how to override that stupid AI so that it will hold it like that. After a bit of driving, you get a bit of carbon build-up on the interior surfaces of the pipe work which even though may only be a small difference, seems to alter the sound.
  2. Keep us posted on how it sounds after a couple of days driving. Not that my changes were extreme, but I remember changing my intake layout and it was loud as for a bit (and I then realised why it has a resonator on it), but over a day or two it tamed down, but still sounds nice. So Drew: How easy would it be to replicate what you just did? Slightly off topic: What change in particular would the ECU make that effectively cuts down on the noise? Is it timing or something?
  3. On behalf of the Brisbane crew: Happy Birthday to Dave (SupaTouring).
  4. The back seats don't weigh much, but when it comes to cutting down weight, every kg counts. I'll just be stripping out the boot stuff as well. That sub of mine is pretty heavy.
  5. elaborate please, what have u decided on springs? ditto for last question A little impatient huh It's still a bit in the works and I'm just researching what can be done, so I'm not going to go into detail just yet. Quite possibly it will involve some design around some Kings Progressive Rate springs. I want to steer away from the (widely known) coilover design due to the smaller diameter of the spring used on them, and the negative effects it can bring. With the primary use of this car being a road car, that's not something that I want.
  6. i havent been to a boost meet for months now. i hardly go on the site, just to check whats on eg. fat pipes dyno day that i even invited u along too. i try to get to as many TOCAU events as i can but its hard because i have class on that night till late. this week i had a week off and mates that i havent seen for 6 months were going and invited me to come so im sorry that i missed 1 event. i didnt really enjoy it while i was there and i strongly dissagree to me being a booster, i dont like that scene i was just keen to try something different for a change and see an old mate. No need to defend yourself eh. Putting the serious note into the whole topic really killed the enjoyment. Anyways, I won't be there this Sunday. Thanks to the wonders of Facebook, I was reminded about a 21'st birthday which was happening on that afternoon from 2pm. I would have gone otherwise since I didn't have anything to do until I remembered (was reminded of) that.
  7. I've got no issues with stripping out the car. I'm jsut saying I want to obtain a figure with my car as it is. I want to see if your engine is pushing out more power now.
  8. I'm going to go with street trim like what Ash has said. I'll feel better that way. May not be the same time as your Rowan, but it will be a realistic figure.
  9. Yes, hurry up man. I want to hear about it.
  10. +1. There are so many situations on the road where I've had all these near misses, and both me and the other driver/s were going on or below the speed limit. I think it not only comes down to education, but decent experience as well. There is only so much you can teach and test in a relatively controlled environment, but due to the amount of other bad drivers on the road, you don't really experience that until you're on the road itself with day to day driving. General driver stupidity though I find is more responsible than anything. For example, just the other afternoon I was merging onto the highway. I was at the designated speed limit and just enough in front of a car in the left lane so I could move across. Just as I was about to merge, with only limited room left in the merging lane, some moron in the right lane moves into the left lane and blocks me off. Of course I need to hit my brakes hard so I don't end up in the barrier at the end, and then try and recover my speed to merge in further back in the line. It's people like that, which make you wonder how they are even fit enough to have their license.
  11. I saw that a long time back... I nearly threw up as well when I saw it. Edit: I specifically rememeber one video... The Camryder: Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  12. Definitely beats the boring announcements they are required to make.
  13. Yeah, the tail lights aren't quite up to scratch. The clear parts are just too shiny in my opinion. The headlights look alright. Seems like they've taken a slight design cue from BMW with the bit of 'eyelid' at the top. Obviously not implemented as good as BMW, but they are getting there.
  14. Don't get your hopes up eh. May not see a response for a bit. Then when you realise that the Ryda unit actually does work, then you'll wonder what the wait was for.
  15. I think the Auspacks unit gained a little more popularity here because once one person got it and was satisfied, the rest followed. On top of that, the Auspacks unit includes a reversing camera in the package and has a built-in TV tuner (good at the time, will be useless soon). I hadn't even heard of Ryda until you mentioned it.
  16. Did you break his legs afterwards? I would be spewing if someone did that to my car.
  17. 6000k HID's in your fogs. LOL. Just kidding... don't do that unless you are someone that live out in the bush and would be using it on a dark empty road. In terms of the best matching colour, LED's would do the trick, but this is purely for style and won't even light the road up. Your best bet would be a set of blue tinted bulbs if you wanted to match the colour of HID's and still have some light there to illuminate the road. Something along the lines of Philips Crystal Vision, or a cheap eBay alternative.
  18. So far every OEM fit head unit for the Gen 6 Camry is interchangeable with the Aurion. As an example, the Auspacks unit was originally made only for the Camry. Those fit in the Aurion perfectly fine. If you ask me, I wouldn't be surprised if that head unit in the link you attached came out of the same factory as the Auspacks unit. The layout is pretty spot on except for some minor differences, and then the interface is slightly cleaner.
  19. Shhh... the 2GR explicitly said it must be discreet. You'll be excused this time ;)
  20. ... Plus I can't think straight and ended up with a double post. So to put this post to use: I can't wait till the national meet as well. Will be nice to give my Aurion a good long drive... it deserves it.
  21. GRRRR!!!! That's not going to clear my head for a little while now.

    Project 5S-GTE

I can't wait to see this progress though its stages.
  23. No... we weren't worried about the cops. You only got flak because you bailed on a Toyota meet which was already happening. Plus, it is something to do on these boards to keep some things fun. Also sounds to me like you are becoming one of the 'Boosters' <_< I'm still deciding on going. I've had enough of the Coast at this point. I've already driven to and from the Coast 9 times this week. I'll see what a one day break does.
  24. Just like Phil said, one word really sums this one up: Karma. Lucky your car is not over the top and there's not much to panic about... except maybe ground clearance.
  25. On the topic of suspension again, just an update on my plans... it seems I won't be simply doing a simple drop on Kings/Pedders. We were having some discussion last night (all of us that turned up to the meet... Rowan), and I think I've got an idea on what I'm going to do for my overall setup. Nothing outrageously crazy, but this car is going to the track and I want to to have some decent performance. It's not all about the style anymore.
