  1. It's all mind games. I swear that when I higher RPM the sound from the exhaust is more of a lower frequency but with no change in volume. The mind is quite easy at being tricked, so this would more than likely be the explanation. All it is, is just a 2 inch to a 3.5 inch tip. Glad I no longer have a 2 inch pipe sticking through the middle.
  2. Yeah. I'm not really a fan of how people slap on a TRD part here or there and call their Toyota a TRD. For our market, the TRD Aurion is exactly that. It is the Aurion that was worked on by Toyota specifically for Toyota Racing Development. I wouldn't even consider slapping in a TRD supercharger on my Aurion to qualify it to be called a TRD Aurion. It would just be a Sportivo with a TRD supercharger. Not sure about the guys in the US though with their Camry's. It seems that you can get a whole heap of TRD parts for it, but I still think the same applies. If it doesn't come to you without being further 'developed' by Toyota, then it really isn't a TRD. Just my opinions. i think i have personnaly made my car somewhat a trd corolla. lol well thats what i like to think anyway. and even the toyota service manager at horsnby toyota thought my car was a TRD corolla though there is no such thing. I guess my line of comment was fairly restricted. This is probably more Aurion specific. What I probably meant to say is that if it was sold from Toyota as a TRD, if you try to get another model and build it up with TRD parts, it isn't 'really' a TRD.

  4. I think if was referring to the illusion of the HID's looking a lower colour temperature. For example, the contrast between the clean white light of if CCFL angel eye and the HID's vs yellow halogen angel eyes with HID's. Also, that TRD Aurion in the photo looks like the pre-production model. The production model has the same headlight assembly as the Sportivo's.
  5. Looks like they have dropped the Caribbean Blue from their selection as well. The new Reef colour is alright I guess. Not as good as Wildfire though, lol. It's kind of like a blend between the Caribbean Blue and Aurora Gold. It sort of reminds of a colour that Ford offers though.
  6. Calling apg39....
  7. Just the tips mate. Purely for cleaner looks. I just couldn't stand the way it looked before.
  8. From all the BMW angel eyes I've seen, they consist of a bulb shining light in a housing which creates the ring. I haven't really seen the latest ones, but I'm guessing that if they are white, they would be the same concept, but using LED's.
  9. Yes it already is!! http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/priva....aspx?R=6195670 Any reasonable offers accepted. Whoa... you really are considering it.
  10. The reason why you should only expect angel eyes to last for around 3-4 months is because of the lighting technology used. A majority of angel eyes out there are made using CCFL (cold-cathode fluorescent lights) due to their uniform bright light output. The one issue with CCFL is that vibration and high temperatures will reduce their lifespan. These two conditions are experienced inside the headlight housing (regardless of the car), so as you can see CCFL isn't the best option to use for angel eyes, especially when you consider the procedure required to fit them. If you could find angel eyes that use LED's, you may be lucky enough to have them last for the life of your car. LED's can have a reduced life due to high temperatures, but they are pretty hardy so in the case of fitting them as angel eyes, they should have no issues.
  11. Well while on the topics of exhaust (and while waiting for my wax to dry), I thought I'll post on my cosmetic change to my rear end. It may only be cosmetic, but I'm bored right now and feel like posting. Anyways, I figured that I probably won't end up changing the exhaust on my Aurion since if I did, I would need a Varex system for the ability to go 'stealth' and I am too pov right now on my student budget to factor in an exhaust. I'm quite satisfied right now with the extra noise from the intake and don't mind the quietness of my exhaust. So if I was going to leave the muffler as is, I though I may as well swap the tips because the stock ones really p*** me off every time I look at them and see the pipe inside. As well, both my muffler tips weren't sitting in the centre of their cut out, and my right side muffler was actually pushed in a little (first picture attached to display the general idea). The guys down at the muffler shop reckon it was pushed in by reversing into something (rental car... what can you do) so to fix it, they cut out the bent section, restored the muffler to its correct spot and weld some new pipe in. So yeah, that's my excitement of the day. Nothing much, but I feel better now that things look more even. Before: After:
  12. That's okay; we won't bite... hard. Hehehehe. Anyways, I'll definitely be there tomorrow night. No reason why not be be.
  13. All good. I'll just see what happens. Having it listed there was the kick that i needed to go make a decision on it. I probably wont pursue the grill any further though should I not win it. It was kind of just like impulse shopping.
  14. Well at least I'll know who outbids me by keeping an eye on here for the next person talking about their new grill. If I win the bid though, you will definitely hear about it on Sunday afternoon after I install it.
  15. If ya quick, there is a guy in brissy selling one on ebay. A black one. That would be your best bet. Otherwise you will need to contact thailand. Look under topic buying a grill process, over a couple of pages. To post one to WA will cost roughly $72, thats how much it costed to send sprags one over there. Bondie. Well... Thanks. I was hoping someone here wouldn't notice that. I felt pretty safe while I was the highest and only bidder on that prior to it being mentioned here.
  16. Did the Avalon come with adaptive AI for the automatic transmission though? It seems like a reasonable explanation, but only if it is one of the features that it has.
  17. That's for sure. When I had issues with my unit, Rob got into contact with the manufacturer to help me resolve my problem. He then gave me step by step instructions on how to get my unit up and running again. Excellent customer service in my opinion.
  18. Good stuff man. Yeah, I remember for the first few days after I got mine, every time I walked past the garage I would always stop and stare at it. As for the suspension, it certainly has this solid bounce to it. It's not rough or anything, just kind of solid. Anyone with the SX6, ZR6, possibly TRD that is in the Brisbane area and driven down the M1 on the concrete road sections would know about the bounce I'm talking about.
  19. You serious? I swung by after work. You would have JUST missed me. I left probably 2 minutes before you got there. I looked at the postings from my mobile and figured by that time no one would turn up.
  20. I'll definitely be there. Been stuck in the office all day. Looks like we will be at train since this rain doesn't look like it will stop.
  21. Find a angel eye kit or custom make one with LED. Reduce the chance of it requiring replacement. Use high quality LED's and a good voltage regulator circuit instead of plane resistors, and you should never need to replace it.
  22. Really? This was from page 2, last paragraph of Issue specifics:
  23. Congratulations on your purchase. You will definitely not be disappointed. Apart from minor annoyances here and there, it is a great car.
  24. Shame the overall unit ain't so crash hot. Mine is left on the iGO8 screen pretty much all the time, so the isn't so bad that way. The unit is alright for its price though.
  25. Good work on finding that. I always though though that there was no regulation on the front facing fog lights but was never able to locate a document to states this. Not that I use them regularly though... they ruin the look of my HID's But anyways BONDIE, you definitely need something in the lower openings. Either chrome grill in all spaces, or fog lights plus a chrome grill in middle. Gotta complete the look with a lower lip as well. Hope all goes well with your findings.
