Correct. The TRD Aurion supercharger alone is about $4800, the ECU is about $3000, the longer belt to drive everything is about $500, and all the other little bits add up. This is providing you want everything new.

There was some discussion that went on in the Aurion forum about all this. We concluded that when in 'S' mode, the ECU must over-ride it's transmission fuzzy logic and run on a set transmission control map that is specific to 'S' mode. We weren't really conclusive on our theories, but it seemed to make sense. We also discussed why it shouldn't really make any difference to having TC off. Great stuff mate. If you are ever over here in Brisbane with your car on a Wednesday or Saturday evening, you should head out to Willowbank with me. I can give you some pointers on how to treat these cars on the 1/4 mile. As you said, it's all about getting the launch right. On a side note, all my best times in my old Sportivo were done with Traction Control on and with the gear selector in "S6". No need to turn TC off or to manually shift gears.

Yeah, just experiment a little till you can find what works. For me, that's what I found always provided consistent results, however your quarter mileage may vary. Another thing, make sure you time everything right so when you go there, you at the very least have your fuel warning light on. I aim to start my runs down the strip when your distance to empty says 10km or less.

I personally wouldn't manually shift... but if you find it improves your time, then by all means use it. My best recommendation is to leave it on "S6" and don't touch it, but that's only based on what I have experienced.

Fords seem to use those shield things as well. I personally think it just looks stupid. As for cooling on a ventilated rotor, the way it is meant to cool is by air being drawn in from the inside centre of the rotor and then passing over the vanes on the inside and then leaving through the outer sides of the rotor. With that in mind, the shield shouldn't have much effect on it... but I guess it depends on the use the brakes get.

Sorry if I may have introduced some confusion with my statement earlier, but in terms of what you are saying, yes the clearcoat is part of the factory paintjob. What I was trying to say what that the actually paint layer/s underneath may actually be quite good but the final clearcoat layer may be where the actual defect lies. Clearcoat is meant to be pretty good at protecting the paintwork underneath and if the quality of this layer is not up to scratch, it can result in an accelerated deterioration of the paint underneath. I guess however that this is starting to probably make it a little too specific. I was only mentioning that since you did mention the following: At the end of the day, if you are having issues with your paintwork, I would probably say that you may not be concerned about the finer detail of the issue, but rather the issue as a whole.

Unfortunately not. But a can of colour code matched paint should do the trick. For a small area, you probably wouldn't notice the difference in finish that much. So I guess that makes the total cost something like $30 odd bucks. Might be cost efficient if you had another use for the paint. Engine cover perhaps, Edit: As per below, 8k posts. I completely didn't notice this, but when I had my TRD bumper replaced under insurance, in the quote, the little cover for the tow hook point was only like $6 or there abouts. So it would be a good thing to get to give it that nice clean look.

I would agree with the statement but not the reasoning completely. I agree to the glaring issue for having HID fog lights, but as for the high beams, you are meant to dip your high beams when there are others on the road in view of your car, so the brightness thing should never be a problem. I still wouldn't fit HID's to your high beams though unless you do long distances where you will most likely never need to dip your high beams. The reason for this is because HID's have a longer lifespan when run continuously. Constantly turning then on and off adds extra wear to them and is a good way to reduce their life.

Not entirely correct mate. The TRD Aurion supercharger will match up to the Gen 2 Kluger as it shares the 2GR-FE. But personally I wouldn't bother. You will end up the exact same way everyone else with an Aurion does when they say they want to put the TRD supercharger on their car.

As with petrol price increases, it's going to make me a little annoyed, but ultimately in the end, it's not going to change the way I drive and my perspective on saving fuel. When the world comes around to driving around in hybrids/small cars, I want driving around in a fuel guzzling V8 because I want to. Even if it means having to work harder.

Guys, I think you should at least be paying Dale $50 per rendering for you. Even that amount seems low to me, but realistically, he is taking up his spare time to do these things and he deserves to make some (tax free ;) ) profit from it. I would then suggest to be generous and tip him some more, but I guess it's down to where you stand in terms of appreciating his works. Edit: I would direct deposit as well because doesn't PayPal charge withdrawal fees?

I somewhat get the feeling it isn't the starter motor. Notice in his original post, he mentioned that while the car was running, it just stopped after 5 minutes? This would lead me to think it could be something to do with maybe the ignition or fuel delivery system.
