  1. I never really read the manual, so that comes as something interesting to me. Most other cars I have been in, one tap equals an increase/decrease of 3km/h. Funny thing is, this is the exact same behaviour my Aurion exhibits.... Well I'm fairly sure it does because If I need to go faster, I count how many times I push the lever. But then again, I rarely ever use cruise control, so manual facts win over my memory.
  2. Sometimes you just have to be responsible and suffer what you get in return. I have done many stupid things in my past, but in the end, you just have to realise that there isn't an easy way out. It can be difficult talking to someone like your parents over serious matter, but you have to do what you have to do. You will get much better advice from them when you can get it face to face. The problem realistically isn't yours (entirely anyways) because you weren't the one to put the diesel in the car and run it after, so this should really be an issue for your g/f. Though you did become somewhat responsible when you did get involved, but if the damage was done prior to you attempting to fix it, you can discuss with your g/f where you really sit in this situation.
  3. I couldn't moderate the WTB sub-forum, so I've banned him instead. One post would have just been a warning, but two was enough.
  4. Sure does. You can change to a lower gear range as well (within the upper gear limits) and the engine will just rev higher to compensate.
  5. Because somewhere in my mind I truly believe you are actually some person experiencing the exact same issues that you have brought up. But the general consensus is that you are a troll (ie. posting this for LOL's) and on top of that, this is obviously only going down one path. If this is a real problem, sorry, but this isn't the place to talk about it. Consult with your parents/friends/relatives... anyone you can speak to in person. Once I close it... feel free to do so. Because you will also be banned. I don't really want to because it is well contained, but there is a good chance he's just trolling... and well, you just don't feed the trolls. It's more fun to participate in a discussion based on real life rather than one that is just made up.
  6. I'm not sure what the Sportivo has, but do you have one of those chipped keys? If so, you just get a plain key cut at Mister Minit or something and use that. On the Toyota's that have the chipped key immobiliser (well my Aurion does this anyway), if you use any ordinary key without the chip, when you turn it to START, the engine just cranks but with no ignition.
  7. Your friends really seem so useful giving you all this great advice an all. It's the person filling the tank that has the responsibility of choosing the right fuel. It's just like how supermarkets stock all kinds of hazardous chemicals and it's not their fault if you have no brain and buy a bottle of drain cleaner and drink it. Do you really think there are many others out there stupid enough to make the mistake your G/F did? I highly doubt it because most people aren't that dumb. Putting this out into the media would be so hilarious that the fuel company in question will probably gain more positive publicity than anything. Anyways, in before the lock. This thread has till 5pm AEST. Thanks for the entertainment to help us all make it through the working day, but once that's over, so is this.
  8. Interesting. That brian88 guy keeps pumping out new threads. Something must be up with that. I guess we will just have to wait for Steve to make an adjustment to it.
  9. It's approximately 40km/h and no lower. Isn't a facility to adjust that as well.
  10. You're welcome.
  11. * Any Boostcruiser that reads this (exp. xxxxgold), sorry for bringing you into this. You guys never fail to disappoint in OT. You should follow the advice of ELEGNT and ask for help as per his post: When you do post there, detail what your issue is and request for some assistance from a member of the name "xxxxgold". No joke, that guy actually is a lawyer and provides really helpful advice on automotive related legal issues.
  12. Read the subtitle - TOC Supporters can put your items for sale here. SORRY no traders ads please. No Car Sales here please. So in order to sell you have to be a TOCAU member. Hey guys. This has just been in discussion with Steve and I. Despite what that heading says (in the meantime), the old buy and sell rules apply. So you can feel free to post there if you qualify by the old rules. However, only Paid Members can sell their cars. We figured that it's a little too strict having it exclusively for Paid Members only.
  13. No no no. You have it all wrong. You need to put 62 speakers in there.
  14. A diesel nozzle is physically larger than an unleaded fuel nozzle. You can't insert it into the filler neck and this would be a good indication that something isn't right. But most people should clearly see what nozzle they are picking up in the first place. Make a stupid mistake, you pay the price for it. Cars aren't toys and you have to deal with your problems like an adult. If you are worried about some guy from Lube Mobile 'dobbing' you/her in to her parents, then you clearly haven't earned enough responsibility to be behind the wheel.
  15. Hence my statement:
  16. May I direct you to this thread. Yes it says 'uphill' in it, but the symptom can be replicated on any surface. Does this sound like your issue? Clunks into gear when car is uphill If that doesn't describe your issue, then at what RPM is the engine sitting on when you put it into gear?
  17. You got sound 'grown up' advice. You chose not to listen to it and instead listened to your useless friend/s. The only thing 'elite' about this community, is that we actually use our brain. You brought it on yourself. Stop trying to convince yourself otherwise.
  18. Shame that home and contents insurance didn't cover an abortion for when your mother conceived you. Definite troll. I should ban the account... but everyone is having fun. It's a Thursday. I'll let the fun continue. Though it is going to get old rather rapidly. Probably pull the plug at the end of the work day.
  19. Your first bit of the most useful advice you could get is to seek the help of a professional. You CLEARLY don't have the ability to fix the problem yourself. You're the one that thought about trying to start the engine again after you were told not to, so realistically... you are an idiot. You can't miraculously back-pedal out of the situation you have gotten yourself into. Someone else is going to have to help, and someone else is going to find out. Yes. It says that I am thoroughly entertained. For filling up with clearly the wrong fuel. Yeah, good luck with that.
  20. How long are you up for Pete? Driving or flying? Damn... I won't be at the meet in 2 weeks from now.
  21. This Muppet has disappeared. He hasn't been banned (luckily... because this is some good entertainment) so I wonder if he has given up. I kind of wish he's not trolling cause it makes it authentically funny, but I also wish he isn't trolling because this really gives an example of how dumb kids these days are.
  22. LOL. This tread is gaining popularity since I last posted. I am yet to read through it, but I love where this is heading. I'm laughing just thinking about it.
  23. I'll be there tonight. Wonder if the rain will clear by 7pm. Either way, we haven't had a meet at the station in a while.
  24. Oh dear god. You clearly had the wrong fuel put in and instead of draining the fuel, you decide to start the engine again. Sorry to say, but someone's mother is going to be unhappy. 1) I don't know how you/she managed to not notice the "Unleaded fuel only" sticker on the tank, plus also notice the fuel nozzle doesn't fit. 2) <Statement retracted> And what made you think oil will fix it? Hope you weren't stupid enough to pour it into the fuel tank as well. * 3) If you are here trolling, go away.
  25. Have you tried to get a good glass cleaner and clean the windscreen around the sensor (and the rest of the windscreen while you are at it anyways) to see if the problem then persists? That would be the first step I would be doing. Unless if comes on when you start the car again with the auto-wiper setting set to off... then there is something else playing up.
