  1. Sometimes questions like this make me want to just give up on this forum. Two things you need to do: 1) Look at the FAQ's, 2) Do a search.
  2. What possible use could this have? If your accelerator pedal gets stuck
  3. Yet another question of yours that would have been better suited to the "Stupid Question Thread". Unless specified otherwise, expiration dates like that are usually inclusive of the date shown. So you have till the close of business on that date to use it.
  4. It is completely safe. When the car is rolling, pressing the START button briefly will not kill the ignition. I have tested this as well and can confirm that. You can however kill the ignition while moving by pressing and holding the START button for a few seconds. As for the steering wheel lock, this only engages when the gear selector is in park and after the driver's door is opened after turning the car off.
  5. The headunit should have a wire on it which you need to connect to a switched +12v that is for the reverse lights. Have a search around the Aurion forum to find the details. I'm on my phone, so I can't do the searching for you.
  6. I don't intend on drinking. Flight gets back at 6am tomorrow and to add to that... I'm working as well. Gonna be a big day, but I want a big steak.
  7. When you turn your ignition to the "ON" position, does your dash light up? If so, does it then proceed to dim or cut out when you turn the key to "START"? If not, I would be checking all your engine bay fuses, especially the fusible links that are in the long blue strips on the side of the fuse box. If the immobiliser had lost it's codes for your keys, then you would at least have the engine cranking when you turn the key to "START", but the engine won't start at all... it will just keep cranking. Well... that's for the factory one anyways. If you have an aftermarket alarm/immobiliser, then this could be the source of your problem.
  8. The torque converter being a fluid coupling can handle slight rotation in the opposite direction when you change from Reverse to Drive and vice-versa. That said, for the stall setting of the torque converter, it doesn't take too much for it to be at the point that it can be considered a little too much and can put a little extra stress on things. You usually notice this when it gives a bit of a jerk. If when you change from R->D while still rolling back a little and it feels like it is engaging smoothly, this is what I would consider to be within safe boundaries. But that said, in all situations, my recommendation is that you should make sure you have come to a complete stop before changing from Reverse to Drive or vice-versa. But if you have a little bit of roll and it doesn't cause the car to jerk when engaging, then I wouldn't be getting worried about it. To answer you other question, when reversing, I usually change from R->D the moment before the car comes to a complete stop. I release the brakes, and from the time taken for the transmission to disengage from Reverse and engage Drive, the car would have rolled back no more than 30cm or so. If you get what I mean. This isn't personally something I would recommend doing, but it's a force of habit thing.
  9. You can use any aftermarket branded brake fluid that you want provided that it complies to the specification, in this case it is DOT 3 or higher. Higher rated fluids are completely backwards compatible with lower graded fluids and mixing them is okay, but it's best to reduce this as much as possible to get the best results. The only exception to this case is DOT 5 fluids. These are not compatible with systems where DOT 3 or higher is recommended. These should only be used where DOT 5 is specified as this brake fluid is made of a different composition which can gel when combined with other types of brake fluid. DOT 5.1 though is compltely safe with DOT 3 & DOT 4 though as it's composition is basically the same.
  10. Acording to the post I made in the spam thread... yes. I quite like it... the general idea anyways. I would like it properly if he had done it neatly... but this is China anyways. Interesting what you said there. Everyone seems to be thinking along the same train of thought. No one here is willing to step aside from going down the classy route with the Aurion. This is why when I had my Sportivo, I was aiming to keep it looking sporty.
  11. Contained two fails though. First was the front grill has a bit of sag in it. Common fault with these grills, but can be fixed if fitted with good care. Doesn't look bad in the picture, but in person it stands out a bit. Second was that it has a Scion badge on the rear. To add to that, the Scion badge was held on with sticky tape... I kid you not.
  12. Well, I didn't spot it in Australia, but because I wanted to keep it on the local forum... this is about the only place I figured it would fit. I only had my phone at the time, so the combination of a dirty car and low lighting meant I couldn't get much in terms of photos. Spotted this one on East Shennan Road, Luohu District, Shenzhen:
  13. Welcome. Hope you enjoy your ban.
  14. Damn it. I won't be there tonight. Sorry Pete. You know I would have loved to have been there.
  15. I am most definitely in. First post edited accordingly.
  16. You have already seen the following thread: Upcoming Aurion Customer Service Excercise

So while I'm sitting here at BNE International, I thought I might say: I hope you kids don't make a mess while I'm gone. Over the next 10 days, I will be on here about as often as SecaBoy's Falcon works... which will be about a few times in the week In the meantime, if you have any problems, message someone else. Adios.
  18. Yeah. They sure do grip in quite a bit don't they. What I found worse though was getting it to clip back in. When you are on your own, it's not exactly what I would define as easy to get all three clips to engage.
  19. No lap time for me until Summer is over. When we work out a good day, you and I Andrew can head out to snack on a Sportivo.
  20. So who is going to drag their lazy a** out tonight?
  21. Keep following the service manual I posted there from that page onwards. If you want to do it right, you will have to remove the rear part of your seat. There are ways to do without it (like with a coathanger), but the end result isn't the greatest.
  22. If you plan on keeping it road legal, this shall be interesting. http://www.tmr.qld.gov.au/~/media/safety/vehicle-standards-and-modifications/vehicle-modifications/light-vehicle-modifications/pdf_modification_motor_vehicles2.pdf
  23. It may not be your thing, but why not scout the wreckers for a busted Aurion Sportivo and get the pedals from that. If you do get metal pedals, you have to make sure it has the rubber inserts otherwise it can be a possible defect.
  24. These are just a decal made out of carbon fibre style film. In my opinion, it will lack the depth that the actual solid eyelids will give you. And for the cost of them, you'd be better off with a proper set.
