It just shows that you must do your own research before buying anything. Ive had numerous car salesmen talk about their cars etc etc then when you ask them a simple question of how big the engine is etc etc they have no friggin idea, they give you stupid looks like "how am i suppose to know?" and it's like, its your job Di*khead, blahhhh, salesman and lawyers all from the same boat, talk sh*it all day never do a hard days work. I have no doubt any of us owners would be able to sell the car better. As for the "kompressor" Bill, one guy at the motorshow knew about it but didnt think the market was big enough over here, as for the TS01 camry, what a joke, buy a TRD supercharger kit and slap it on wow??? i mean thats just a load of crap, then have the car the the motorshow for a cheap publicity stunt. The fact of the matter is that toyota do not portray a sporting image and they are not really interested in that market segment, i mean just check out the new sports cars we can get from toyota, a bit of a joke really, underpowered and no match for real sports cars, but what ever they do, they sell heaps of cars.

I went to the race, had general admission tickets, didnt have a clue what went on behind scenes, and to top it off i missed the last five laps coz i had the runs :( :( but I WAS THERE!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D

I was there last nite, got a rally poster signed by all the corolla drivers and co. The new corolla looks very similar, however i was impressed by the new astra SRi turbo, looked really good, as well as the VW golf GTi turbo :) . The Astra still has the same 2.0 147kw turbo, as will the new golf.I'll post some pics later.

I dont think it has anything to do with South African manufacturing, more to do with the lack of sporting pedegree by Toyota Australia. I am sometimes still surprised that we get the 2zzge engines over here, as in the past none of the high performance engines came over here, i mean the pre-1999 celicas all had camry engines here

Got the major service done at the toyota dealer, it cost me $290, had the clutch readjusted etc, etc. Didint have to change air filter, so it was cheaper i guess.

I had that crappy charge as well, quite annoying really, i mean they try and squeeze every cent out of you. I also left some $2 dollar and $1 coins in cup holders, needless to say all the $2 ones were picked off.

I stopped by at Ultratune, it was actually more expensive than toyota, they wanted $370 what a joke!!!

Just wondering if any of you guys have had their 40K service done as im due. My toyota dealer wanted $340 as it is a "Major" service, i told them i'll think about it, does anyone recommend a good service shop in Melbourne, i aint paying that much for a service.

Well I recharged my pod yesterday, feels alot more responsive and powerful, heaps of dirt came out in the wash, i dont think water got through, if it did it must have been minimal, the pod sits in a good spot, not alot of water can get through.

I was extremely fortunate this morning on the way to work around 2.45 am, cruising around 90kph through back roads pouring down rain I hit a mini river, needless to say the car launched sideways from the impact, i had no steering for a sec, and managed to coast through it with the car slowing down to half the speed, unbelievable. I cheched the CAI, there was water under the bonnet, I didnt feel any difference and i checked the pod, its very dirty with grease like components from the water mixing with the oil from the pod. I dont think water can pass that easy through the pod, remember its oil based, ill have to remove it and give it a big clean now, ill let you guys know if the car stuffs up :).

Welcome Welcome :) This morning i had a run with a Astra SRi, dont know if it was turbo or not, but got him both runs taking off normally, by 2nd gear i was about a car and a half in font, although i must admit they do go quite nicely for a holden :P :P

I wonder how that would look with the rest of the original sportivo kit?
