  1. Ive been following this topic on the US forum and some dude reackons he's come up with a gizmo that fools the computer and can alter lift, he's even put some vids up. They are hard to see though but check it out for yourselves. Here is the link :http://9thgencorolla.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3201
  2. I found it harder to land one two because the road was crappy, making the car bouncier as it is stiffer, making the gear change just a fraction slower. It makes up for it on a smooth road cornering like a proper sports car should. It feels that way anyway so i guess its not a bad compromise.
  3. You better tell TAKA it's not GT4 on playstation :D . I'd love to go on a friday night and I would do it just to say i've done that, but i think you need a helmet and i dont have one. I would launch from 4 grand, torque feels good at that rpm, and it wouldnt hurt the clutch that much if you have a couple of runs surely.
  4. Carlo I finished up with Koni yellows adjustable all round, and whiteline 40mm lowering springs. The car dropped nearly 50 on the front and 45 on the back. I also wacked in a whiteline strutbrace and ive got a rear sway bar coming from them also. Its low enough, infact it might be a tad too low. Today for example i parked in the city and couldnt get out coz the door would have hit the side of the gutter, so i had to scramble across the other side. I also managed to swipe the right side skirt a little, lucky you can hardly see it but yeah, i have to change my driving all together now. So far, $1380 for the spring shockers combo installed, and $70 for the swaybar :) brand new in a box, the dude at repco just happen to have one lying around for a year(the same one i must have ordered last year but never went to pick it up coz they never rang and i forgot ). Ps: I fixed that problem wei wei...i just moved the seat forward an inch
  5. The car handles unreal, but..i cant land in lift 1/2.....the setup has had some effect on the dynamics. Has anyone occured this????
  6. lol how am i gona test out the new beast man, chasing ghosts around???? maybe there will be a ghost sportivo to drag us. When it hits lift it just dissapears. I cant make it lads, got a party to go to and a dinner. Can we make it for next weekend??? its a bit of a short notice Marcus
  7. excuses excuses :( . You wont wreck your clutch from having a couple of runs, it's not about whose fastest anyway, its about trying to see what we can get from our machines.
  8. VVTL-I has full time variable valve timing, where as i am not sure about the Hondas.
  9. Before my first service i hit lift easily 10 times, you can tell after the first couple the car is getting used to it, you will know when lift feels right. First time it felt weak, but now it feels great.
  10. I reackon its time we all put our money where our mouth is and hit the calder raceway on a friday night , the weather is cold, just perfect for 1/4 mile runs.........who would be interested??? Im very very keen, my gf will come too in the 03 stivo, i want to test my stock 05, it feels quick i want to see how quick in my hands. Stewwwww????? c'mon man!!!!!!!!! i kow youre in, Bill???? Carlo??? DANZZ????????? Egene???.....the whole gang of us, and of course a digi cam :).
  11. No worries mate, i'll be glad to help you out :)
  12. I gotta post up some pics............soon i promise. The first impression is the car is a more ridgid unit handles with more precision, steering is responsive, sharp cornering, a bit bumpy but the shocks absorb the bumps well, you can feel the suspension working, i'm over the moon :o :o it's amazing how the car changes. Now im waiting for the rear sway bar. Thanx for the help guys your input and advice is worth gold, much appreciated it.
  13. My springs are for sale as well onlt 1500km old :)
  14. I had them on my 03 corolla nish and theywere great for the original 16's however when you put 17's on it, it raised the car a little, and i just wanted the car a little lower so i went for a lower spring. had toyota made the car 20mm lower in stock from, then it would have made it easier on everyone as the eibachs would have been sufficient.
  15. Congratulations...welcome to TEAM BLACK!!!!!..... :D
  16. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH another white one down....its party time at the Black Rolla Club...... :P time to celebrate boyz...one down :)
  17. Ive been told that whiteline use kings springs and just repaint them. The ****holes gave me friggin commodore springs for the front..now i have to return them.
  18. Laps on chaps would get the attention of the jacks B) , now that i dont need. Id love to have it low as possible but i have to consider everyday driving and the longetivity of the car, i mean having a low car is great but having a really really low car and use it everyday for driving.....ummmm nah, not on these crappy roads.
  19. OOpss :) maybe not all, what i mean to say is that coilovers are probably more useful for the track instead of the street. my personal use is for the street, so for the $1500 setup spend on konis(one of the best brands) and whiteline springs(top spring also) i dont think i would have been able to get coilovers of that quality even for $2grand. Also I dont want to have parts in the car that will never get used to their potential, and to me coilovers are best for track, i "think" they would be a waste for "Me" as the 40mm lowering springs are low enough, and going to coilovers would not justify any of my set criteria if you know what i mean.
