Sorry abit of topic.

Who did your turbo conversion WhiteRolla ?

157 Kw atw ? im guessing fully forged internals, what ecu you running ?

I made it myself exept for the ecu install (haltek interceptor)

standerd internals with larger injectors.

ACT FTW :yahoo:

RO11AS you mentioned a company producing turbo kits for our model Corolla... boy, when that day comes(if at all)...wow :yahoo: awesome

P.S. Dylan after driving a car with a powerband that only gets interesting after 6000RPM for so long I didn't think turbo lag would be the biggest issue for you    Oh and stitty came to visit today :)

looking @ the size of the turbo .... and obviously depending on the manifold design as its not clearly visibile in da pics this should pull huge numbers on the dyno ...... have no idea what its driveability will be like though ..... but good on them for having a go

no he wont get traction

no its not as fast as bill's car (i would think)

Jimmy, it's not so much the lack of power below that's the issue, it's the rush at which it comes on once boost hits that makes it a handful, no comparison to lift rush at all which is actually quite linear in it's delivery.

Dunno about the canister Jason didn't have enough time to have a really good look!!

As for lag etc etc the turbo on the car was supplied by the owner and that was what he wanted to use. Bill's set up would perhaps be better to drive but the boys at CES have done what they can with what they have been supplied. Engine has been rebuilt with forged internals(pistons, rods valves, springs etc etc) so me thinks engine isn't the weak point but more so the gearbox and suspension(stock shocks with low kings).

It should push some pretty decent numbers so i will update sometime this week with more info.....

we use charcoal cannisters out of turbo chaser's and supra's on our swaps, they're 1/5 the size of the ZZE cannister and are designed to cope with boost so you dont pressurise the fuel tank.

I reckon with the way things are so cramped next to the fire wall you'd have no alternative but to go remote mount with a decent sized snail!!! I'd still say it wouldn't be too laggy depending on the specs!!!

Personally I prefer some lag in FWD applications as it saves some stress on the running gear and in drag launches gives you a chance to come off the line without all the wheel spin...

My last car had 200kw atw's in an NXR coupe and I didn't think the torque steer was too bad but personally i believe the chassis in the corolla is far better, newer, etc.

I agree a bit of lag with a fwd may not be a bad idea, so once your off the line you can fly by (as long as it comes in around 3.5-4grand RPM). However, they could have centred the intercooler a bit better, and why no cold air? plus i got a couple of other issues, but i suppose its a first try and its much easier (and cheaper) to use cable ties

Any price figures on the turbo install?
