Hey, I was looking to get a lightweight battery and thought I'd throw out some feelers here. I don't want the hassel of spreading this buy outside of Brisbane. I don't even know if they would even do a discount. But anyway it is a Braille battery, http://www.brailleauto.com/productcart/pc/...amp;idproduct=1, price is list at $260 and are located in Everton Park from a place called 'The Racing Room'.

Info for the lazy;

B14115 Battery Specs

Casing: Polymer Plastic

Weight: 11.5 lbs (about 5.2kg)

Length: 5.8

Width: 3.4

Height: 5.8

Pulse Cranking Amps: 904

Cranking Amps: 486

Cold Cranking Amps: 360

Amp Hour Rating: 15

Warranty: 1 Year Free Replacement

For comparison here is the Odessy equivilant, http://www.odysseybatteries.com/battery/pc680series.htm

Deka do one too, the ETX20L. As used by DHC09. Specs:

* Length: 6 7/8in.

* Width: 4in.

* Height: 6 1/8in. (height without plastic spacer)

* Weight: 15.5lbs

* 12 Volt

* 19 Ah @ 10hr rate

* 270 CCA

The others are slightly cheaper though, but just thought I'd see if there was any interest in the Braille.

You want batteries Dave? My best mate sells batteries for a living. I will see what he can get you. I know he can get the Deka's too...

I like the Braille ones since they are the lightest I have found so far and is actually designed to be used in a car. The Deka one, AFAIK, is just a snow mobile battery. It uses the same case but weights about 2kg more.

And so far I am on for tonight.

I'm with DHC on this one. DDR sticks together :P

Just make sure you get all the salt and sand out of the chassis! A sprinkler underneith it for a while did the trick nicely, untill water resitrictions turned up.

All good mate. I used the high pressure jets on the island and gave it a good underbody blast. I'm in the process of tracking down some videos of it going through some really fluffy sand.
