Awesome news. Hopefully I'm not too far behind getting the TX3 running, and then hopefully way ahead of you, with it running. :P

haha, it might be faster... until you blow a gearbox..

You've been hanging around Jonothan too much! But it's true! :P

update:

well, i clocked the turbo, but that was causing all sorts of clearance and other issues, so i had to pull it all apart and switch it back to how it was :(

its 90% back together, so i might bring it out tonight.

also, i ordered my wideband today :D

Zeitronix ZT-2 plus LCD

aside from AFR, it can monitor boost, TPS, EGT or any other 5v input... and has datalogging capabilities with all of them.

  • 3 weeks later...

OK guys, so i received the ZT-2 + LCD on Thursday :D

It is in the car now, i just need to have a plate manufactured (should get it today) to mount the O2 sensor where the stock one used to go (going to use the narrow band emulation feature of the ZT-2 for the ECU)

the ZT2 is all wired in and connected to the appropriate sensors, as well as the emanage (woo, can tune from the one piece of software :D)

once the WBO2 sensor is in today, i will be able to see some baseline AFR's. I will then install the boost controller, and ramp up the boost.

hopefully I don't blow it up :D

I will take some more pics this arvo if i remember

you might want to look at mounting the sensor further down your exhaust, it's easy to overheat the LSU sensor when it's right next to the turbine outlet. I usually mount mine about 50cm or further down the dump pipe. If the sensor overheats you can fabricate a heatsink for the sensor.

I will see how it goes in the factory location, some of the MR2 guys have done this with success...

the sucky thing about the stock dump is that it contains the catalytic converter, so i cant really drill + tap a hole and mount it down further :(

If the sensor does overheat i will grab an ebay aftermarket dump pipe, it has a bung for the sensor/egr probe pre-welded into it.

edit: looking at the specs for the sensor, it is rated for up to 950c (1742f)... thats pretty hot.
