The wife is allowing me to spend $1000

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

The wife has finally approved a budget of $1000 to spend on my 04 prefacelift sportivo.

My car is stock except for super low springs.

I need your help, whats your thoughts on the best combo of parts that can I get as this is probably the last time in my life that I can spend this kind of $$ on my car. (not including insurance)

Is this enough for a CAI and Strut bars???

Apologies for my lack of price knowledge.

cheers

if i was in your shoes id go.

2nd hand CAI and filter - $300-$330 approx

rear sway (whiteline) $118 - from bursons

Front strut (whiteline) $118 - from bursons

some good engine oil $70-100 (royal purple or something)

New gearbox oil $30-50 ? (castrol syntrax etc)

2007-2008 toyota (Rav 4, corolla, landcruiser, hilux) headunit with MP3 input and bluetooth and looks 1 million times better than stock sportivo headunit, simple plug and play swap- $300 ( i wouldnt pay more than that)

thats around $1000 and gives you a range of benefits including the bluetooth hands free which is great IMO

window tint depends on wat tint ur gettin and who with..

i had my old civic tinted with the guys i use to work with for 100.. they did 20%..

there are plenty of ppl here on this forum with knowledge as to who u should go to and grab a bargain on tint..

You will have to bring your own oil in and ask them to use that. They won't use any other oil if you don't provide it.

Thats just enough for

A set of Koni adjustables or

Front strut brace rear sway bar and a CAI

if you are after noise go for the CAI

If you like the twisties get the konis as they will do wonders. (works better witha rear sway var as well though.

Strut braces look cool but are a bit overated.

rear sway sounds good

its about time i downgrade my subwoofer and reclaim some of my bootspace anyways

shopping is no longer limited to a box of migoreng and pepsi

i probably wont go for the angel eyes or leds

i park my car everywhere so id rather it look plain as possible in the outside

as for the gps

i agree !!! i have that on my iphone already

ummm.... NO! also, it won't fit on a Sportivo LOL

CAI = WIN! just do this, and save the rest for something bigger

Yeah bursons is best value for sways and strut brace etc.

sway is best bang for buck i reckon at $118........and it wont affect boot space at all as its under the car etc.

as for good oil, the toyota service centre i go to will get whatever oil i want across on the day and put it in for you if you ask.....maybe dependent on service place

yeah CAI can be expensive they dont really depreciate too much

CES headers and CES CAI or CEs catback

(c'mon flame me for being bias but I only buy quality proven stuff hahahaha))

after all it is $1000 so spend it on a worthwhile investment that you will recoup money on when you sell the car....

I got quoted $213 for a rear bar today from Bursons up here. Apparently they are not a big customer :S
