Just came across this news article.

Apparently some Toyotas in the US are coming with 'dangerous floormats' which are prone to move with your foot and could possibly slide up over the accelorator pedal and hold it down. Sounds like a bit of bollocks to me. Every car I've ever had has had floormats which can move a bit under your feet (well, except my Aurion with its hook in driver mats and the fact that all the mats somehow grip to the carpet when you try and slide them).

Bloody Americans.

Wonder if Toyota Aus will follow suit?

(edit: typos fixt :whistling: )

when i bought my rolla i got new floormatts, never have this problem as their are 2 hooks at the bottom so it stops it moving and sliding up ! :) tho i wish i can have new matts, its wearing in 2 spots due to the fact its manual :(

OMG i was just saying this at the cruise, i crunched from 2nd to 3rd with the mat on the peddle accelerating....................

that mat seems to slide up and go on it a fair bit and its driving me nuts!

mine are genuine but they dont have the hooks/clips for them...
