yeh the boardwalk shot looking over the city is actually a part of someones driveway and a walkway hahaha

yeh man we will go out let me know when you get it

and what wheels you thinking of? dont go 20, go like 19x8.5 front and 10 rear....winner

from my members ride thread:

20" rims cause 19" would look too small on a big car with big guards... :(

Front:

Stock - 8" +36

New - 8.5" +35

Result: 5mm closer to the strut and 7mm further out.

Rear:

Stock - 8" +36

New - 9.5" +35

Result: 18mm closer to the strut and 20mm further out.

and whilst tuning this happened. something to do with wastegate we think (hope) resulting it to not open and boost spiking to 36psi. sent the piston and rod out the front and the back of the block. could not have been more gutted and hurt in my whole life, i was shattered! all my hard work resulting in my baby sitting in a pool of oil and holes out the side of the block and finding her inside all over the road, this is one of the many bits that i found (its whats left of my piston if you not good with cars):

bringing her home 4 days later after i could bring myself to look at her again

also brought her home a friend seeing she will be lonely in the shed for many months

That was some pretty good progress there mate. I'm surprised at how the old turbo actually made a difference when you look at the size of it.

... but ouch about the last post. Sorry about how that turned out. Just give it some time though.

I no nothing about turbos or anything but sorry to hear that happened man. I can imagine you would of been gutted baddd. But hot as )(*&^%^&*( ride man! You did real well. Would love to see this in person one day. Maybe the next annual in melbourne? haha

ohhhhhhhhh fuq!!!!

so sorry to hear/see that bro... :(

i know how disheartened you must be with it all, but dont do what i did and sell the car... you'll regret it a LOT more down the track... :)

have you done a full diagnosis yet? what does it need? just a new short block? or has it damaged a sh!t load of other things?

Posted

not sure yet mate, piston, and block are fuked obviously, possibly crank, very possibly head stuffed and maybe turbo.

weather i persue with putting all the stuff on the new motor or going all back to stock and parting out the grey colt is weather the turbo is still ok. if it is its a goer if its not im not going to worry about it. cost too much for a new turbo

Jesus, that doesn't look good. Sorry to hear about the dilemma you are in :(
