Ok just installed new headunit into car.

The problem:

This

wont fit into here

Because of this -.-".... its just a tiny bit too tall. I was thinking of sanding the fascia down so it will fit...

Anyone got any ideas? Or does anyone have the fascia that i can buy and mutilate to fit?

first of all does the player fit into the facia out of the car? is it an ebay player?? cos they usually arent double din.

the idea of puttin a player into a corolla is...

A. mount player into brackets with toyota wings to fill in the sides

B. clip the facia panel to the cd player and brackets. (yes it will clip together)

C. slide into hole in the dash and clip it in.

D. manouver the facia and player around to make it fit properly then do the 4 bolts up.

E. DONE

if this dont work the you'v done something wrong repeat step A.

The face plate is actually physically slightly to big to fit inside the facia. And i guess u can call it an ebay product. its an eonon e1091. I just measured it and its 2 mm larger than the stock headunit grrrrrrrr

and also its slightly narrower than the stock unit so i have gaps on the side. but they are not a big as a worry as I can't fit the dam facia on lol

Hey,

I had a similar problem with my JVC headunit

Mine was due to a nipple on the bottom.

I went to the wreckers (Pick n Pull) are nice and close - got a headunit surround - $15 - And dremled it to fit.

Because i have the Levin with the chrome aircon vents i swapped this over to the one i got from the wreckers.

Problem solved.

Yeah I was thinking of doing that Brad. Do pick and pull have facelift corollas? I know i've been down to pick and payless and they have none.

On a side note. I keep seeing you on North Rocks road. Dam your levin looks nice

http://www.dnaaudio.com.au/###

check the dna website, the wings r on each side of the pocket, dna have just released the wings on their own but cant remember the part number.

if u take notice of ur standard player it has rounded sides and is aboit 18mm wider then any aftermarket which is what the wings r designed for, they do the same in kluger, prado 100s cruiser, 200s cruiser, yaris, late model hilux and hiace van, and some echos, theres prolly more but cant remember.

What are they called if I want to look for one on ebay or something?

Just go into a Toyota spare parts department or try with an automotive installer. They aren't that expensive for the convenience of getting them. This is what you are looking for from Toyota (thank you djc for the code):

Spacer: Left - 86221 52050, Right - 86221 52060 ($16.60 each)

If you go to an automotive installer like JB, you can even get them for under $20 for the pair.

I have a spare pair

Not sure what they call but it comes with the single din tray and 2 side pieces.

I have a spare pair of these and if you want, $10 would be fine. I pay postage.
