gearbox is coming out !

took the driveshafts out and put it in 1st and released the clutch slowly and bang bang. ready to come out !

btw who knows a good manual trans reco place in syd??

That looks like a huge job man. Hope the car gets better soon! Would hate to see your car pass away. So whats actually wrong with it? The clutch? the gearbox?

ok umm symptoms neutral and rev is fine, gear 1 clutch down rev fine but when on friction point bang noise, in any gear Inc reverse.

When car rolling in neutral " pulled onto to truck " clunk noise evident.

I'll look at the fluid tonight !

based on the noise you described not the one in the video clip and that pic of the oil it looks and sounds identical to when i took 3rd gear apart ...... and yeah i took out about 1/3 of the teeth on 3rd gear ..... the rest of those noises though in ur video clip .... hmmmmmm ...... have they pulled it apart yet ?

also word of advice ..... if the box is coming apart then purchase the celica 6th gear rather than the corolla 6th for that little bit more fuel economy and lower revs in 6th ;) ;) ;)

thanx xoom, sending it away tomorrow to get looked at ! i was driving in 3 or 4th i think, only 60km's then caput.. easy shift through all the gears just when releasing the clutch it clunks... anyways ill see if they can reco it. if not ill have to get a 2nd hand. or even try and sourse a already reco'd box... know any places?

and what ideas to the motor did u have in mind?

Update: took the box to work and got a specialist to come and pick it up to have a look at it, good friend of thr company, he will strip it for free, and see if it's repairable and give me quotes to fix.

Flywheel is getting machined. ( maybe a new light one ?)

Getting a excedy HD clutch

replacing my leaking water pump lol
