Man, this woman is something! Look at her fastest lap times in the Sportivo, they are fast and even quicker than most Type Rs, Celicas and the S2000. Don't know what they did to the Sportivo to make it that quick.. would really love to have those mods :P

The website has a detailed description of what you can and cant do to the car....and interms of modding the car up well there isnt much you can do according to the rules book. Probably why this beast is so good is because one of the key things that is allowed is weight reduction by ripping **** out of the car now your type-r's already have a **** load of stuff pulled out now imagine getting the sportivo down to under 1100 kg's n u tell me dat wouldnt fly or even under 1000kg :D :D :D man dat would b good.....oh but 4get about the creature comforts :P

  • 1 year later...

I found this topic while doing a search on a race team I work for.

The question was asked about modifications permitted on Leanne's Corolla and, as I built the engine, as well as the 3 Celicas in the APCC and Rick Bates' Copen, I feel qualified to answer.

The only modifications permitted are that the exhaust is free after the exhaust manifold. We are also permitted to fit an aftermarket ECU.

Whilst the engine is internally standard, we are, of course allowed to optimise tolerances in a process called blueprinting.

I have elected to concentrate on one team this year and chose the Osborne Motorsport Team with the 2 blue Celicas #s 13 and 31 driven by Colin Osborne and Trevor Keene. We are currently 1st and 2nd in class B and 1st and 3rd outright after 5 of 7 rounds.

For the rest of the car basically:

Safety gear is required

Springs are free

Shocks are free and adjustable platforms are OK

Brake pads are free

A/C may be removed from the engine bay

The guts of the sterio may be removed

Instruments may be added

I hope this helps.

Leanne Ferrier has been achieving results like this for quite a while now. As the previous comment states the car is standard apart from bluprinting, exhaust and ecu which quite a few of us have done to our street cars in some way or another. Imagine that plus the weight reduction and some improvements in the suspension dept and honestly it would be a great little surprise package to a lot of people out there in the higher categories.

I've watched Leanne race quite a lot in the production car class and she really knows how to peddle the Stivo around the track. Would be great to get to have a close up look at the car. Anybody know exactly where it's located and could possibly organise an event for our members in the particular area to meet up and get a good look at the car? Make for some great pics!! :D

Thanks for sharing Neil, but would u be able to provide details of Leane's car such as engine specs (power, torque), weight etc.. :P Hope i'm not asking too much.

Leanne Ferrier used to race the V8 supercars in the KONICA cup for the valvoline commodore team with at the time jason bargwanna and garth tander obviously being her partners racing in the supercar series

i remember watching her at oran park and she kicked ***** until she crashed all three races lol she started last in 1 race and she gained 3 positions like every lap or 2 until she crashed in the last few laps and she did this in all 3 races last race she had the****s and she did a MASSIVE smoke show as she took off from the starting line LOL

The car is a Corolla Sportivo.

The program has been dropped by Toyota and the car in pretty much mothballed.

Rick bates ran it at Eastern creek 6 weeks ago in order to keep his licence current and it is possible that Neal Bates will run it at Oran Park in 3 weeks or Eastern Creek in early December.

As I mentioned, my focus is on the 2 Celicas this year and no further development has been done on the Corolla.

The Celicas were clearly faster at EC than the Corolla but the weight added last year will be out for Neal's run in a few weeks.

It is difficult to separate blueprinting from exhaust ans ECU work, but I am sure that blueprinting improves both torque and power.

On the dyno we use (please note specifically on our dyno) power goes up from 108kW to 129kW. This can be used for comparison only for us as I am sure you are aware.

We have worked real hard with tuning to optimise this with no 2 cylinders having the same ignition timing or fuelling.

Silva and Evl have hit the nail on the head, Leanne has been around the traps (and very successfully so) for some years, in the proddies, V8's and Formula Ford.

It would be interesting to see how she goes in a truly front-running car in one of the major categories (V8's, Porsches, etc) ... she'd give a few people a big shock!

She is also married to Garth Tander, it'd be interesting to see the sort of driving ability their kids will come out with! :-)

Procar are a bit out of date... every other race category in the country are calling her Leanne Tander....

I saw when Rick Bates was running around Eastern Creek on SPEEDWEEK and was dicing with the Celicas quite comfortably. I thought he was going to compete more in the series though... Good to see Leanne back behind the wheel of this little beast though.

I thought Rick was going to take it over to South Anerica next year too to run in some endurance event (can't remember the name of it though)

Ignore my comments I just realised how out of date the start of the topic was... :P

Leanne is running around in improved production (in an RX7) and kicking some serious behind this year too :)

I think this one is one that she and Garth built together in Melbourne.

well actually the stabdard time of my old v8 was i THINK 15.4 on the quarter with alot more KW's

and you already know the stivo times 15.8

but my v8 WAS 8years old and still standard so im sure it would have dropped tp the low 16's by that point

and YES making the stivo probably JUST slightly quicker than my old V8 LOL
