Question on twin loop mufflers

Can someone with an x-force twin loop muffler post up a sound byte plsssssss

Or better yet, tell us if it's louder or softer than Buddha's exhaust posted here (post#38):

btw, i was quoted $380 for one fitted in perth. Seems like prices are all over the place.

I can tell you that the twin loop is not as loud as buddha's car.

I'll try to post a sound byte tommorrow evening of the twin loop.

$380 is way to expensive.

Shop around a bit more but if you can't find any cheaper try these guys.

Trav is heaps helpful I think they do the S10 twin loop for $210 free postage.

I like it because there is zero droning and it's not loud at all.

I have a S10 on my car. See my garage for a picture of the S10 muffler.

I'm not going to say S10 is the one to get or whatever because it really depends on your taste. A few other guys have X-force Oval mufflers and they also sound nice but they are louder than the S10.

This muffler is very quiet and I think honestly if I got this muffler first before my redback one I probably would be a little upset because it is so quiet.

The fact that I originally got a 2.25" resonator back mandrel bent system with a redback ultraflo muffler which was deafening loud I now really appreciate the S10's quiet tone.

I've come to realise that the main reason why the redback muffler was so loud was due to the fact that I changed my original exhaust system to 2.25". Members like Budda, C-rolla & now Fat_ZZE have the lukey/redback ultraflo style of muffler without increasing their exhaust diameter to 2.25" and they all seem to be very happy with the tone and noise level. So really depends on individual opinion.

I didn't dyno the car before and after the exhaust went in, so I can't really tell you how much difference in performance the system gave me. Lets just say a little better in performance. :)

Looks wise I prefer the twin crome tips on the X-force PT02 & PT06. I think CORZZA & EGGBERT_99 has these on their cars.

I went to my local muffler guy and he recommended an EAS muffler, he said that it would be louder than the standard one, i dont want anything louder, i want something that will flow a little better and if there is a deeper note on it thats fine, i just dont want anything thats going to sound like those lancer try hards that you can hear for 100m before they actually get close to you.

I also agree that the twin chrome tips look good, but what is the difference in noise between the 2??

Hey Fellas i am thinking since reading this topic of getting the twin loop,

Im guessing :blink: you would most likely get the full exhaust system and just put the twin loop at the end so you dont have the original exhaust on the car would that be correct on getting a whole system put on or???

so youd just get a full exhaust system as normal with extractors and high flow cat and then put the twin loop on at the end

ohh and i have a 1zz levin as well not a stivo ;)

But what extractors do people think are good for a 1ZZ-fe??? Some of the extractors for the 1ZZ-fe arnt really that much better than standard for example the hurricane hedders and the quality isnt that great either!!!

In my experience Extractors don't do much

Years ago myself & a friend both owned 92 Corolla GTi's. Both Cars had tha same exhaust but my friend had TRD extractors. Many times we would line up at the lights and 90% of the time my car would pull away even though my friend was a far better driver than me (weekend club racer - AE86 with heavliy worked 20V motor, car absolutly flew, but thats a story for another day). This has lead me to believe the amount of money it cost to buy them is not worth the gain. Another thing I didn't like was that it changed the sound of the exhaust. It went from a nice bass full tone to a real tinny sound.

I suppose a polised set does "LOOK" good in the engine bay.

It would be interesting to know if anyone out there can prove this wrong by a dyno comparison

Good point grahame thats the thing so far my exhaust ahs been changed i tried extractors and have gone back to stock extractors with just 2.25" from the extractors back hi-flow cat and a reso to keep it some wat legal now i was just wondering if any one can post up some comparitive dyno sheets from stock extractors to A/M extractors im particularly interested the i think they are called "wildcat" extractors or even if some has done the "CES"(from QLD) ones that were said to be coming out and are they 4-1 or 4-2-1???

i been following this thread but does any one hav this twin loop on a sportivo, any gains to be had? My mate has this on his EG with B18C, i think most of u hav been overquoted in price cause these muffelers can be had for $150, well thats the price he got it from direct from xforce here

I have custom after market extractors on my 1zz man, but i wouldnt be able to tell you about any power difference based on extractors alone, as i had them done with a full exhaust system.

I would like to think the car wouldn't pull as hard without them (4-2-1, very well made) but like i said, i cant isolate the performance increase to the extractors.

Maybe Danz (he has wildcat headers i believe) or Pippy would be able to give a better evaluation as to the gains to be made from extractors alone.

X force does not sell directly to the public because this will undermind their distributers. But maybe they value your friends $150 business over the thousands of dollars the distributers bring them :huh:

Ok, for the ppl in Melbourne, just got a quote for an X Force Twin Loop muffler, flanged and fitted for $280 :D

The place is called "Auto Xcess" in Nunawading.

Does anyone know if this is a good price, cause I'm thinking of getting it done next week. :)

If I do get it done, I'll see if I can be bothered recording the before and after exhaust sound.

Currently I have a stock exhaust.

The guy was pretty good to talk to. He was telling me that the stock exhaust for the corolla's was pretty good except the muffler was restricting the air flow (with too many bends). :) But I'm sure I'll be changing the whole thing further down the track. ;)

Keeping the stock muffler, I put a 2.25" mandrel-bent catback system on and I felt straight away that the car was more eager to rev... felt as if the stock exhaust had a blocked nose and I'd just put some vicks into the engine... I drove the car with that for about a month, then installed a set of Wildcat 4-2-1 extractors...

With the extractors on, I noticed more engine sound when revving, but no real increase in power or 'revability'... I then went and installed a Simota CAI system...

With the CAI, the sound under WOT is amazing... sounds almost like a boxer engine above 4,000rpm... a nice faint burbling... but definite drop in power between 1.5krpm and 3krpm.... this was later confirmed by my dyno, which I did when I installed my eManage, which fixed it right up...

So there you go... hopefully this helps you make your decision on what to do with breathing mods.... remembering that the stock headers are a specific tuned length etc etc etc.... you want to be careful with what you put on an NA car...

i got the x force twin loop muffler with the 2.5 inch inlet. i changed the whole piping on the sportivo to 2.5 inch from the resonator back including a 2.5 inch cat. the note on the car is nice but you might have a little trouble trying to put the muffler on. you might have to put it on an angle, but with a bit of work it should be alright to let it sit straight out. it's a lot quiter compared to the cannon. it doesn't come with the loud drowning noise on the free way. i know! casue i had a cannon. ****** me off after 6 months. but yeah! auto access is the place to get it and the old lady in the shop knows her stuff! on installation just take it to your local exaust specialist they should be able to put it on no more then $50 if it is more then that go to another place.

Performance gain.... becuase i had a really small cannon muffler previously (it was bassicall running no muffler) i noticed a little loss in power. compared to the stock muffler there are noticalbe power gain becuase the air isn't as restricted. i'm running 2.5 in exhaust so the sound was louder but not too much and there is no loud drowning noise which made the drive ALOT more comfortable. to sum it all up xforse twin loop is the ownly way to go if your looking for value for your money.

has anyone in sydney go to toda australia to buy x-force? No one seems to get the price i got em for. $180.

As for header. try wildcat 4.2.1 long body header, this is for low-mid power.

I contacted TODA and spoke to Adrian.

He was very helpful but his best price was $190.00 just for the muffler.

I was then able to find a place in Sydney that gave me $200.00 installed. :D

But I have been quoted $395 installed from other places. :angry:

Maybe because you purchased more than 1 he was able to pass on more of a discount.
