HAs happen to a few of my friends just be ware.......

Subject: FW: Mobile Phone Scam - it got one of these calls on Sunday so

watch out!

hey this ones actually true i got one of these calls the other day....

its a good thing im a lazy ***** and dont bother calling numbers that i

dont know back.. hehehe

I missed a call at ridiculous 8am Suunday morning (what were they

thinking at 8am Sunday morning??) and it just so happens that the number

(03 8558 0556) it is on this list!

OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they did that to my mums fone the other day and i called the number back!!! as soon as i heard they said i won something i hung up straight away!!.. wouldve been on the fone for 5 seconds tho..

how bloody annoying!

I heard about the melbourne numbers before but this was a sydney number and just thought my mum missed the call.. :(

how does that work? If its being directed to 1902 number arent they being charged seeing we're only calling a normal land line?

eg if i divert my home phone to my mobile, my home phone is charged the diversion not the person calling.

Man stop scaring me. I called back the 03 8XXX XXXX number and it said to call another number which was a 1900 one. That was when I immediately thought scammers and hung up. I couldn't possibly be charged more than a local call rate for a land line number could I?

i got it a few months ago but instead of ringing on my mobile i rang on the house phone and it said what you wrote iNdCeNt.

I just got a recent one the other day didnt ring that time. my mum got it to ..

Oh, My relative just got that this morning, and thought someone in Melbourne called her....Thanks man, I just told her not to call back....

What a scam...i think it was on TV a while back too....a lady called and wait and wait...end up paying $60.00 and she got this "mobile phone ringtone download"....this is stupid!

i actually picked up straight away and got a recorded msg saying you have won a prize.. then all i remember was blah blah blah and then i hung up.

i was like prize my fat *****, i didnt do anything.

i just another missed call..

and the number is similar to the ones above..

number is

03 9540 5187

man i just wanna meet one of these guys and give em a hinding.

so if i actually picked up the phone their actually getting charged for it. So if you can pick it up in time stay on the line for as long as you can. That'll show em :D

copped one of these at 930pm one night.. didnt get to the phone, didnt ring it back

If i dont recognise the number and they dont ring back again i figure it wasnt important in the first place..

I got a missed call from one of those numbers yesterday afternoon.

Good thing I wasn't assed calling it back. :P

And good thing my parents don't know how to check missed numbers on their mobiles! :lol:

well eggbert called me from an unknown number this arvo and i called back not knowing who it was...

lucky it was him and not a scam!

eggbert is scamming u man .. he runs a few 1900 numbers !!

I just find it amazing that after all the pbulicity on this sort of crap, that not only are there idiots in this world that still try it, but that there are also idiots in this world that still fall for it.

How many times do there need to be emails, news items and public awareness saying that things such as 'you've won a prize' etc blah blah blah are all bogus.

The first give away to it should be that you never entered the competition to start with.

The second give away is that you usually have to call the 190X numbers to register for the competition, not respond to a prize.

Finally, the age old saying always applies, "IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, THEN THE ODDS ARE THAT IT PROBABLY IS...."

Anybody here that has had these calls, and realised the bogus-ness of it and not fallen into the trapp, good on you for picking up on it....

Correct ... because voice is not deemed as being spam ... if it was txt it would be another story .... so anyway by all the telecommunciations laws these guys arent doing anything wrong ..... :angry::angry: <_< <_< <_<

the only people i personally know who have recieved them, have all been with 3 Mobile...

Vodafone here and i've copped it

      Buying 3rd hand 2010 Aurion Sportvio for $9000

      That is about the standard price you'd expect nothing crazy, I paid pretty much the same for a 2008 model with 160k on the clock. As to the high km's and maintenance, 165,000km for a Toyota is nothing to sweat about and the maintenance/repairs are pretty cheap. If it's been treated well by the previous owners and you continue to look after it then it will easily last you another 5 years.

      Removing low beam bulb 2014 Camry

      I apologise if this is an idiotic question--I've searched and watched dozens of videos on how to replace a burnt out bulb, and i'm fine with it (i've even done it before, though it was years ago). the problem is that I can't seem to get the bulb out of the 'plug'/base--it seems that that is too blindingly obvious to be explained or shown on camera. I can't remember what I did last time I replaced a bulb... I don't know if I have to push something on the fitting to release it, if i have to twist it, or just yank really hard. I've applied as much strength as I dared, but am afraid of breaking something if i try to brute force it out. I could just pay $15 for someone at supercheap to pop it out and replace it for me but it's become a matter of principle at this point... I'm unwilling to admit defeat. The photos below are from a different post on this forum, but they're the same exact kind of bulb/fitting i'm struggling with... Any tips would be much appreciated. My wife is getting really annoyed with me because we can't drive at night but i'm too stubborn to pay $15. Thanks!

      Aftermarket Air Intake

      Hey all, Just recently bought a 2007 TRD Aurion and am trying to find an aftermarket Air Intake, but am coming to the realisation that there is a very limited market for TRD Aurions. So far the only system I've been able to find is a K&N Typhoon Intake (link here: https://www.carmodsaustralia.com.au/KN-Filters-69-8611TS-69-Series-Typhoon-Performance-Air-Intake-System-Camry-35L-07-11?cq_src=google_ads&cq_cmp=18898892770&cq_con=&cq_term=&cq_med=pla&cq_plac=&cq_net=x&cq_plt=gp&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwpZWzBhC0ARIsACvjWRP893VLnAQsxIZJjcW5Go75b_T2N25rSWBVu6IeDziM2v41bpeyOREaAg1fEALw_wcB), however when viewing specifications for the product it states it fits Camry's from 2007-2011. Further digging revealed this product is an import from the USA hence why it's for a Camry - they don't have Aurions there. I am aware that they both share the 2GR-FE engine so I'm assuming the product will be able to be retrofitted to my TRD, provided the throttle body intake is the same diameter across Supercharged 2GR-FE's and N/A 2GR-FE's. Has anyone else in Aus had any luck sourcing/fitting one of these K&N Intakes, or know of another brand that do them specifically for the TRD Aurion's. Pretty confident in just ordering the aforementioned kit but their return policy sucks (can't return and refund if packaging has been opened, etc). Cheers guys! Jason.

      Heater problems

      My Toyota Celica SX blows cold air at the driver’s side when the heater is on, and it is an absolute nuisance. I get that it takes a while for the heater to work properly, but some reason after I have the heater on, it starts blowing out cold air even after a good warm up! I feel like the heater core may need replacing or the air conditioner/heater needs re-gassing.

      Entertainment Unit Upgrade

      Hi everyone. Just after some advice on head unit upgrade. I'm looking to upgrade the functionality of the entertainment system to do a few things - display my dual camera from my caravan, utilise the HEMA OnRoad/OffRoad module, stream to the rear screens, and include wireless apple play. I've narrowed down to the most popular which seems to be Advanced Ice, EC Offroad and Galios - but none seem to do all four functions seamlessly. Not sure if I'm actually looking for a unicorn or not...has anyone had any experience in installing one of these systems and has it done all the functions? Any regrets? Cheers Mark
