Call me crazy but I try and keep spiders alive as much as possible. I have this fascination with them. My dad is the same. He saved a Funnel Web from being killed with bug spray (it was already doused in it but still alive) while at a luncheon in Bungendore. Soaked some cotton buds in water, chucked them and the spider in a plastic tub, gave him some grasshoppers while we kept him for 2 nights and released him on the way up to Wakefield park at the side of the road in the bush

not quite sure what effect you're trying to achieve but I'm assuming you're going for that "glassy" water effect. if that's the case you definite need a tripod and a slower shutter speed

shags - maybe you can give us some tips ..

was taking pics last nite of the lightning ...

of the 300 photos i took only 2 captured a strike ...

was running a 2 second exposure ... any longer and it seemed to be to bright ...

also with other lightning around it made the photo even brighter even though it wasnt directly in the shot ...

here are the 2 photos .. pretty stoked considering it was my first attempt at lightning shots

also this was about 1am ...

as you can see below .. way to bright .....
