  1. Found out something new today (for all the ZRE levin owners). That my ZRE has double locking function when you press the lock button twice in 5seconds it locks the outside and inside in an event that someone smashes your windows they cant open the doors from the inside. lol (always wondered what those window stickers meant!) And more importantly (and noobishly) that my smartkey actually had a key in it! Almost two and a half yrs i had my car didnt know it had a key!! Never used it till today, FML hardcore! Pity never got the full walkthrough when i picked it up at the dealership. lol Always wondered why my door had a keyhole and all i had was a black remote. I'd be stuck if the remote battery died. <_< Thanks to vinh and mark aka MRMPS for showing me. sighh.. noob <_<
  2. Nice! your colour is so different and unique. :)

      DJKOR

F*** oath. I saw the advanced screenings of it and was left thinking that it was like some uni student's project or something.

  4. Wow john, very very interesting read indeed. Well done on finding all this information. Testing a TRD corolla at Winton eh? Ahh im over it, whatever happens.. happens. Its interesting to see what develops though.
  5. Damn cuong! Kevos wheels really trump the ol' kappas! stance is hot as! sighhh.. wheels unfornately arent priority for me as yet, but next set will have to be 18" +35 i think. Nice having zre mates to help each other with parts. John is up to his 10th set of wheels i see. Im thinking something along those designs too john, Works 11Rs? one day...
  6. dont worry, i was on oem for almost 2yrs with my zre. something different cant hurt, as long as you get the right grade engine oil!
  7. Man this thing is clean as a whistle, inside and outside. And that engine block is spotless! 'She lives again!!'
  8. 14hrs of work today.. ftw and fml

  9. Sounds good desmond! Defintely all track preped now. Ride should be very controllable on track. Just need tyres asap! Dont go track in bald tyres. lol
  10. Still getting the same problem guys??
  11. My knowledge of this is limited. As in none, lol. Seen pics of the valvematic engine, is it like lift? Anyone to confirm this? Seems like a lot of work though. Goodluck with it anyway
  12. Looking good clifton. Man i should of got a stivo... sighh
  13. Weather looks very unlikely for any meets tonight guys, this weekend gonna be pouring and im working tomorrow! yay! Probli gotta move it to next Friday
  14. Good to hear that issue is resolved pete. Im still running Penrite HPR-5 5w40 and will do so for next oil change, maybe should give 15w40 a go? Is there some way of reassuring us that some grades of oil eg. 5w30 are affecting the cam/valve timing? Every car may be different, maybe should try out a few different grades for the next few oil changes.
  15. 4% darker after today

  16. that doesnt sound good lee.. but i'll still go Pedders for coilovers. haha :D
  17. nice, i thought you already had a silver strip there already? or was that just for a test look? anyways, looks good. subtle and clean
  18. Cornering feels more stable and responsive, it's got rid of the wobbling feeling out of corners. I'm still running stock suspension so there's still a lot of body roll (mostly felt by the passengers). Unfortunately I slightly bent the base on the driver side, I must have tightened it a little too hard against the groove found on top of the strut. I might loosen it a little this weekend as the car slightly steers to one or either side. Somehow a slight nudge affects the direction, anyone tell me if this is normal? Feels like I just need to go for an alignment... You need wheel alignment, dont think it'd be your front strut affecting your steering. Front strut brace stiffened my steering and reduced bodyroll. If you get front sway, it improves your steering response and makes your front more flat around corners, but we all need more work on the rear, front is fine with just strut brace if you dont have coilovers.
  19. sad news for the other guys trung, but good work on your behalf. give those honda fanboys a run for their money.
  20. Made her scream today.. Also, just bought another item for my car. :) yeah and? so what is it??
  21. yes there is. you can take it to a suspension shop and they'll do it for you. They just superheat the springs to like 1000degrees of something and compress it more, probli another 20mm. Around the 200-250 mark. A few guys i know did this but IMO its not worth it, it weakens the springs strength, if you really wanted to though, that would be an option for you.
  22. Yeah thanks guys. just called Just cars, the girl said pretty much the same thing. They alter the amount covered depending on the market value and after each renewal of 12months cover. My zre market value is 23k :( but agreed value of cover is 27.5k :D Oh well.
