  1. Iphone has a nasty habit of suffering glare when their is a contrast in light levels. I need to turn off the courtesy light just to prevent the picture from being mostly white light. Only seems to work okay out in real sunlight.
  2. tried my hand at modding the back door handle to better match the CF strip. It's hard to make out unless viewed in person, but the back half of the door handle (behind the silver panel) is now CF as well, to help it blend in better with the strip.
  3. Rims and lowering would really set off this mod, but also very impressive as she stands. How did the vinyl come out in person? I know photos tend to hide imperfections especially with the vinyl so be frank
  4. Whilst that's a very interesting car, it has about as much in common as an Aurion as my left nut (include poor performance joke here)
  5. damn that's coming along nicely!
  6. I tried painting through a template on another piece of aluminium I had here but the result wasn't ideal. I think getting a shop to make a custom vinyl sticker etc would be the way to go
  7. Cheers for the photoshops, I really like that style. Probably a clear vinyl overlay from a printer would be the way to go as etching doesn't seem to be possible. I prefer the second one, now I just need to figure out what wording to have EDIT Actually AURION Bespoke is growing on me. Anyone else want to chip in with a suggestion? Was considering AURION Harrier (in the above style) due to the emblems but it feels a bit wrong to make to much reference to another car it doesn't really share anything in common with (besides the engine)
  8. Went ahead and installed it, and I love the look even at this stage. Just need to decide on what wording to go on it
  9. Grill was done by getting a sheet of perforated aluminium and drilling/countersinking/polishing every hole out larger and more rounded. Took AGES Working on a new piece for the centre console, plan is to have "AURION" or other wording on it in black text once I settle on a way of doing it. Ignore the poor fitment, here I used a small dab of double sided tape to hold it up for photos, the final result will use 2 stainless screws in the holes to hold it in place. Opinions?
  10. Front door trim handles finished and back in car. CF instantly appears less cluttered. Once again apologies for dodgy phone pics
  11. The "completed" front bar. Apologies as it seems the IPhone simply can't capture the grill very well.
  12. Certainly different, but I can't for the life of me fathom how that wheel would be structurally sound. First pothole and crumpled rims galore
  13. Got the upper grill done but need some decent light for the pictures to turn out, maybe tomorrow. I've decided to rip the CF off the interior door handles, it looks a little to overdone with it there. Instead I'll be sanding them back and painting them silver akin to the Prodigy
  14. ALOSHAN - No matter how many times I read your first post, it comes across as biased, narrow minded and extremely offensive. This would be my guess as to why you've "hit a nerve" with a few people here. There are much better ways to ask the question "What made you decide to make an Aurion/Camry etc as your car to mod?" Oopps, just like that I guess. Also loving how you state in your OP that a respectable amount of power is 200kw+... Well then I'm glad I achieved that level of power without too much hassle. Now to seriously answer your question Medium to Large 4 door sedans have always been my preference with cars, being a large bloke myself and appreciating having the convenience of a car that is more universal in it's uses then a dedicated sports car. I was a former hardcore Holden fan and was looking at a v8 Commodore for my new car, but after driving the VE I didn't really feel I was stepping up from my previous car, a v6 VT Commodore. Sure the power was there but I wasn't fond of the general feel of the vehicle. I then tried several offerings from Ford, Mitsubishi and then Toyota. The Aurion for me felt like the best all round compromise of having decent poke, good fuel economy, decent build quality and coming from a brand who's name rings synonymous with "Reliability". Whilst more power would have been nice 1/10th of the time, the fuel economy of the v6 rings better the other 9/10ths. Plus is was powerful enough for me. I also like the looks of the Aurion, and despite your narrow opinion I frequently get positive comments even from complete strangers off the street. A modded Aurion is a somewhat rare thing so people tend to take a 2nd look and appreciate it more. At the end of the day though, I could go on hours to get across the specifics as to why I like my Aurion but I won't as it's pointless. It's my decision and if you can't understand why I have that opinion, then welcome to the real world buddy. Go have a cry that someone likes something you don't and fuck off (and I mean that in the nicest way possible)
  15. It is a neat car, but without seeing it in person any haggling advice you get is likely to be inaccurate and put you in the wrong frame of mind. Haggling is a skill that needs to be learnt by the individual through experience. As a start, take a look at www.redbook.com.au to get a idea of what these cars are valued at, as well as viewing the general going rate for these vehicles. Do the research yourself. Once armed with that knowledge form your own opinion on what you believe the vehicle is worth and negotiate from there. Speaking with the seller in person is likely to glean far better results than an email exchange, further it will let you inspect the car in person. Don't be afraid to walk away from the car if the seller won't negotiate in good faith. Hope this helps, but for basic stuff like this it is best to do your own research in future and consult family/friends before creating forum topics. Try to keep our forums clean
  16. haha what does suit me then? Anything that makes a lot of noise, doesn't go fast and uses a drink can as an oil catch.
  17. so prob better to leave it on for the time being, especially since i overheated the other day It's unlikely to have much of an effect on engine internal temperature, at least not to that degree (pun not intended). I'd be looking closely at the state of your cooling system if I were you. It does however have a considerable effect on intake temps, which can effect economy/throttle response etc. Heat shields are best left in place for a variety of reasons.
  18. Just recently I've been pondering how a vinyl wrap Aurion would look, and I must say that is very neat. Props to you for trying something different! Did you do the work yourself or get a shop to do it?
  19. Okay I'm going to try to bring you back to Earth a bit here. Go to Ebay, search for Camry GPS or DVD or whatever - see all those results? They're all different types of units which all work differently and all have their own little problems. Nobody, without a unit in front of them and with experience on using THAT PARTICULAR UNIT is going to be able to give you accurate advise. Do a search and read every topic on these units and you might come down with a list of things to try, but your best chance is to contact the people who sold you the unit and ASK THEM. They built the unit and (I assume) programmed it, they might be able to lead you in the right direction. I know you already said you did, so wait for an answer instead of going creating new topics. Give it a day or 2 of contacting the sellers or doing your own research before coming whinging to the forums. Also, don't go creating new threads for every little issue you have - try posting in one of the many other threads on the topic. This keeps the forums cleaner and easier to search through so that people like you can find the answer they're looking for! Finally, NO I don't care whether you think I'm a prick and aren't being helpful - I've actually given you some very sound advice here. Rant over. Mods do whatever you think is appropriate
  20. I am going to steal it. Tis the risk of owning the sherpa I shall also be there
  21. Anyone who took photos the other able to upload them here? Only need them for a few days to give people a chance to save them
  22. Very fond of Teknoman myself
