  1. Isn't it strange how a "delicacy" is often some weird food that is edible in the technical sense but actually tastes like ****? Damn that Balut, that is nasty. I think the worst I've had is a bad meat pie, where I swear the meat was a shade of purple.
  2. It has been done, the biggest issue is that no local company produces them. There is a set built by Monkey Wrench Racing that will bolt on however you will need to get a custom y-pipe fabricated to suit and do something regarding the fitment of the pre-cat oxygen sensors (as the cats are eliminated). This normally causes an error code due to the out of range information coming from the sensors but doesn't negatively affect power. Reports of how much power to expect are varied but I'm of the opinion they do give decent gains, however the stuffing around can mean the mod will cost well over 2 grand and even then you are likely to have issues.
  3. sounds like what you are referring to is axle tramp, which unfortunately is a big problem with the Aurion due to so much power going to the front wheels. What you're experiencing is typical of Aurions and doesn't generally mean anything is wrong with your car, it just means you need either better tyres and to take off a bit slower so as to not induce wheelspin. You can get your suspension modified to reduce axle tramp, but this is generally done only for drag work and would make your car less suitable around town
  4. U54mot - cheers mate. Any chance of doing the same to one of the other pics so I can see them painted against the car?
  5. I haven't even put soap and chamois to my car in months, let alone wax. I think the last time she got a semi-serious clean was the nationals, and even that was rushed. I have holidays coming up soon, will see whether the motivation can be summoned during that time.
  6. Which makes postage a bitch <_<
  7. I need to request some photoshop masters to "paint" my rims either shadow grey and black before I commit to it, but I like the idea of plasti-dip on the roof to give me an idea of how it will look for cheap. I've done vinyl on a roof before and it's a huge pain to do.
  8. Some new pictures of how she currently sits. Got new wheels due to a mishap with my previous wheels involving a buggered locknut and a holesaw :( Also newer brakes from a Toyota Kluger which fill the rim a teensy bit better than my previous setup.
  9. okay the most popular day is the 29th, and we have 8 people including myself who have stated the 29th is okay. I'll populate the list as I've read above but PLEASE confirm yourself in the next few days. For Saturday 29th October 1) Steven 2) DJKOR 3) Branno 4) GDUBB 5) EVO7 6) MoggillSX6 7) Andrew357 8) Mick.wheelz
  10. Just a piece of advice here, everyone please be aware when updating to huge front 4 piston brakes (or more, depending on brand) to try to remain aware of front/rear bias. Failure to do so may mean the car works better on the track but far worse around town when brake temps don't reach high levels. Many aftermarket brakes suggest you use their rear kit as well to keep the balance optimal - I have found with the Kluger brakes that bias is moved slightly forward, only slightly but I wouldn't want to go any bigger without updating the rears as well. I will be attempting to see if the Kluger rear brakes fit eventually when my funds recover, however they are still a solid rotor so I'm not expecting the world of them. Further, around town, the biggest limitation on your brakes are your tyres - If you can engage the ABS then going aftermarket won't help you at all. Those huge aftermarket brakes will really only come into their own on the track. For around town and some spirited driving the TRDs (and possibly even the Kluger brakes) will be just as good.
  11. People normally check this thread before heading to the train normally. I'd be more concerned with people showing up at the loop
  12. There are literally dozens if not hundreds of aftermarket sat navs for the Aurion out there and they are all very different, so unfortunately there is no quick answer to your question. For the most part the reverse camera uses an RCA signal to the headunit which would be fairly universal, however how the camera is activated depends on model to model. Some require a wire from the headunit to the reverse lights, others use the reverse lights to power the camera itself (and switch whenever it turns on). It can be figured out whenever you switch the units but would require a bit of know how in how these things work. As for the wiring, 99% of these units plug directly into the factory harness without any cutting required, so you should be in luck there when it comes to connecting a different unit. However like I already said, you can't be sure until you remove the unit you currently have and take a look.
  13. In, hoping the rain clears up enough for a regular meet. Something bout the train just seems so ghetto
  14. As I suspect you know what this is, and it will ruin the rest of your day :)
  15. HAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAAAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAH <deep breath> HAHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAAA
  16. He just got it out of the shop, what the hell would he want something that would spend more time in there? On a recurring basis? Often for the same thing?
  17. There is no difference in performance. The Aurion is very nit picky when it comes to getting it to perform its best and everything from what fuel you are using, how full the tank is, how long since your last service, general mechanical condition, even what temp the engine is currently sitting at. Also the capability of the driver. Considering you don't know the above information, then I'd say your knowledge of the Aurion is nowhere near good enough to justify your driving as "perfect" when it comes to shifting. A little punctuation and grammar in your posts wouldn't go astray either.
  18. Any cosmetic damaged not brought up for 12 months after purchase you will have a very hard time claiming as a warranty issue unless it's something which appeared to have aged prematurely (ie clear coat flaking off). Still in many cases it's always a hard run to get them to agree to repair these things under warranty as is usually blamed on the owner. It may not sound fair, but from a business perspective it makes perfect sense. You may not have had time to check it but that also means you can't guarantee you didn't cause the damage yourself. Further no one is going to believe you couldn't once find a 5 minute window to do a close inspection on the console in a 12 month period. If you don't wish to pay new prices for it, then I suggest contacting a wrecker and obtaining one from them. They are out there now and the cost saving should be substantial. However please be aware that this might take up to 10 minutes on the phone and then collecting/installing - it might take as long as an hour or 2! You should probably organise to take holidays from work given your busy schedule before attempting this.
  19. Unfortunately I can't commit to anything as I may have changed occupation by then
  20. Nope they're fake covers alright. You can see the factory caliper underneath, and I have never seen a brembo brake kit (or any big caliper brake kit) that reuses the tiny factory brake rotor. Others look very impressive, but let's not let this degenerate into a "look at this bling" thread. Hoping to keep everything informative. If you have info about the big brakes then it would help if you can provide information like availability, pricing and other relevant info so people can carefully consider their options when considering the right brake upgrade for their purposes.
  21. Going to add a poll so all those you wish to attend can specify there preference. Please only vote if you do plan on attending if your preferred date is chosen in the end. This will allow me to select a date that suits the most people. Further the cut off date will remain the same.
  22. Sorry mate, had a buyer before I even had them off the vehicle.
  23. I did but I removed that as it wasn't relevant to this thread. The brakes are now mostly bedded in, and feel great but under normal operation don't feel out of the ordinary at all. If you changed to these from the standard brakes I think you'd have a hard time feeling the difference... That is until you start having a bit of fun

    2012 Camry

We previously didn't get the same audio systems as the US in the first Generation Aurion / Camry equivalent. Even in our Sat-Nav there were many internal differences and some external (ie lack of external amplifier) that the yanks got. It's more of a subtle "under the skin" difference mostly.
