  1. Duh... seen how many Asians buy Honda's too? Yeah, that one surprised me as well. The Aurion branding seemed to work for Toyota awesomely well because a very high percentage of Aurion owners I know are not Asian.
  2. Good find. Although I agree that it is a bad comparison it seems Aurion owners like their engines and Accord Euro owners like their Luxury. The only real comparison I would make against each other is in the looks department and I think you know which one I like better. Yes, an Aurion is a rebagded and dressed up Camry but even if the Aurion used a completely different chassis it would be called a Camry to tossers. I think a more fair comparison would be a Camry Grande and Accord Euro. In which case I would ironically choose the Euro because I'm not the Camry type. In my opinion the engine is 90% of a cars appeal and purpose. Aurion owners talk up their engine because that is all they have and Euro owners talk up interior quality because that is all the have. So in my books the Aurion wins hands down. The Honda Legend is an Accord by another name as Aurion is to Camry.
  3. Actually I had just filled my car up with Shell V-Power 98 RON and I can say it isn't all that cracked up to begin with. True you might get a bit more performance out of it but it comes at an expense to fuel economy. I agree with that spreadsheet above here. I had 91 RON from Shell 3 weeks ago and it lasted me that long for 3 weeks around town! I am switching back to Shell 91 RON then BP Ultimate to "clean" the interior then switch back to 91 RON and so on. Waitaminute. I'm confused now. Do you consume less fuel over the same distance if you use 91 RON as opposed to 98 RON? I thought with the higher octane rating, you use less? Anyway with Shell V-Power 98 RON fluctuating between $1.07 and $1.25 per litre, I'm probably going to start using 91 RON more and more now. Fuel costs are starting to get stupid :( . Where do you live? I'm lucky to get 91 without E10 for $1.35!
  4. This isn't worth the group buy as to get a good price you need to by from the US and shipping would be amalgamated for all items weight and size. Buying and paying for shipping for a single item is cheaper in the case of these large items from the US.
  5. im in for a group buy, obvoiusly for my car though :] Cool. I haven't got any prices back yet but I'm aiming for $260-280 landed to your door each. Do you know the K&N part number?
  6. Spot on. Fortunately or unfortunately people have different opinions. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and they all stink.
  7. I agree partly in theory but I also enjoy looking at nicely modded cars. Why do they make street cars that go so fast, look sporty, or are imptractical for everyday use? Because people want them and not everyone is a grumpy hater. My car is lowered because I like the look and handling. I blocked off my lower resonator because I wanted it to sound different. I changed cosmetic parts that are useless to my car because I wanted it to look different and the way I want it. I did an LED swap because I wanted it to look nicer. I want to change my exhaust because I don't like the way it looks. As much as I bag out people on the road for tacky mods I also love it because it gives me something to look at. Mods are art.
  8. This is exactly my argument when people think I'm stupid for filling up when I have approx. 10 ltrs left. I look at it this way, if the theory of not letting your tank run below 15% because it will suck through rubbish past that point is true then not only will that 15% threshold increase over time but when you actually have to keep driving below 15% because your running late or there is no station nearby then you are gonna take a whole bunch of that rubbish all at once instead of the dribs and drabs you would have if you run the fuel low every time. Plus, I don't know about you but I like driving with as little weight as possible in my car.
  9. Great review! Thanks. How much interest is their in the K&N SRI Intake? I wouldn't mind running a Group buy for we get say 3 or 4 people interested.
  10. Perfectly normal, I concur completely with DJKOR as the experience with my Aurion is exactly as he mentioned. If your fuel usage/cost conscious I recommend non-ethanol blend 92 or 95 RON. 98 is a waste of money in my opinion because it is expensive and the engine doesn't require it.
  11. Welcome to the club. First, a silly question: You mentioned that you like the power of the Aurion. Is it possible you are crapping your self a lil everytime you put your foot down? Second, a real question: Are the vents open? I never have my vents open but when I occasionally do I find it smells really bad.
  12. If you don't have tape you can shove it between the dash and air con piping to the left. That is where mine is and it works great. P.S. I have had a dig options unit for over a year and it is already having issues, plus the unit comes with pirated software on it (which is normal) but then they try and sell you updates which are also pirate.
  13. Thanks for the site. They are very good except their site is extremely slow and doesn't search well on item numbers and their postage is ridiculous!
  14. Does anyone know a good site to buy Toyota parts from that will ship to Australia? I found some really good sites with great prices where I can get every part I need but they don't ship to Australia.
  15. Hey Jeff. If you are just concerned about changing the spark plugs, all you need are the spark plugs and the gaskets. 17176-31040 GASKET, AIR SUR U306 x3 $11.60 (List Price), $9.57 (Unit Price) That was back in January 2010 though. According to http://www.toyotapartszone.com this part was superseded by part 17176-0P020. Toyota Part 17176-0P020 OEM Toyota GASKET, AIR SURGE TA
  16. Mad. I thought it had to be someone with a Corolla because of the buying history. :P
  17. No sorry. The bidding has gone above the minimum that I wanted to sell it for so I'd rather let see how high it goes. I've bumped the discount up to $45 for TOCAU Subscribed/PAID members.
  18. $45 off to any SUBSCRIBED/PAID member of this forum that wins the final bid on my eBay Xbox. http://cgi.ebay.com....=STRK:MESELX:IT Used and in perfect working condition Comes with everything you will need to game on Contains: WIFI Wireless Network Dongle Charging cable with 2 x Rechargeable Battery Packs 2x Controllers Remote Control Live Headset VGA (Monitor) Cable AND Standard Video Cable Power Brick 20GB HDD 11 Games Games: Call of Duty - Black Ops Call of Duty - Modern Warefare 2 Grand Theft Auto 4 Fallout 3 Fallout: New Vegas Fifa 10 Fable 2 Colin Mcrea: Dirt Viva Pinata Civilization Revolution Saints Row
  19. I can only talk from experience with my Aurion, but I believe it is written somewhere that Toyota like a certain percentage of fuel to be in the car at all times for various reason. Therefor the gauge might not be a true representation as to how much fuel is left in the car but it is likely an accurate representation as to how much fuel is left until the Toyota minimum is reached.
  20. Ask your dealership to give you a quote, they list all the parts you need , price etc, my quote was $750. Smart thinking!!! Hey Jeff. If you are just concerned about changing the spark plugs, all you need are the spark plugs and the gaskets. 17176-31040 GASKET, AIR SUR U306 x3 $11.60 (List Price), $9.57 (Unit Price) That was back in January 2010 though. Cheers DJKOR!
  21. You call that a hint? That is more like a slap in the face. Does doing a market research (about cars) to justify spending money on painting my rims count?
  22. It wil lsell. But the big questions are: What does it do on the 1/4 Mile and how many seconds to 100kmph?
  23. My 90,000k is coming up in the next few months and I am concerned that if I go with Toyota it is going to cost me an arm and a leg but if I go somewhere else that they wont do it right or skimp. I'm thinking of replacing the spark plugs me self (with a mechanic mates help, or rather I help him). Besides the Spark Plugs them selves what other parts like gaskets might I need and what are the part numbers? Thanks!
