  1. With 205/50/16's, you'll have a diameter that is 9.5mm less than with 195/55/16's on the same wheel. In other words, you'll go from 620.9mm overall wheel/tyre height to 611.4mm, a variance of only -2%. This is probably less than the error in the speedo so shouldn't change it's accuracy to any measurable extent. But to answer your question, yes - to travel the same actual road distance the wheels will have to rotate through 2% further than the narrower tyres. edit---- PS. If they'd fit the 6inch rim, a set of 225/45/16's are also only -2% shorter in overall height than stock, same as the 205's... PPS. On 17 inch rims, the best match are 235/40's - almost 0% variance from stock (actually 1.1 mm shorter).
  2. Hey - I just noticed you posted a link to the Media only versions of pics at the Procar site. How did you get access? Personally, I like the pic of the Stivo at the Clipsal 500, with the Adelaide Hills in the background.
  3. You decide: http://www.procar.com.au/driverdetail2.asp?id=182 But boy can she drive!
  4. Do you mean the Toyota/TRD factory unit available in the US or the locally-available ones? I think the latter, in which case I agree with you.... Nice paint job, whoever's "idea" it was. Hmmmm, I wonder if gunmetal grey skirts would look good on a silver Stivo.....
  5. That wasn't me - I work on Port Road and live North of the city. You'll know me when you see me though as I am the only Stivo (that I know of) in Adelaide with custom plates. ----edit and red front brakes!
  6. That's what I said to Xoom.... :(
  7. You'd have trouble seeing over that massive bonnet hump too.
  8. Finally got around to posting pics: http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/gallery/au/Set23_03 http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/gallery/au/Set22_02 http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/gallery/au/Set21_02
  9. Dirty French [insert expletive here]
  10. Wheeee !!! SA is cheapest again !
  11. Thanks Bruce and welcome to the forum. That clears up most of my questions except one - do you mind if people who've bought from you tell us their prices in private (PM or email)?
  12. Wow. I'm now a believer. Is this this a stock or modified Stivo?
  13. Who knows without comparing the ECU's? Also, I was thinking that if the early Celica's had a higher fuel cut, wouldn't plugging in an earlier ECU raise the rpm limit? Has anyone tried this?
  14. I'm with Pecker - it shouldn't be secret, that smacks of censorship. Which is evil or communist, or something.
  15. Welcome Organ, I am indeed from the Festival State. I have a silver '04 and have given out my share of cheeky grins and thumbs up. I'll probably be out cruising the city and Anzac Highway this weekend - most likely Friday night. See you on the streets!
  16. Pfffft! In SA there's a one off fee of $170 for personalised plates with 6 characters (incl. at least one number). For custom plates (more choice of colours and no restriction to have numbers or letters), they are $190 per year.
  17. But to work that out, you'd need to know the exact % loss through the drivetrain, which you don't, unless you also dyno the engine.
  18. Welcome. I think there is a thread here somewhere suggesting the wheels are ridiculously expensive, given that they are manufactured in South Africa. From memory, the replacement value was in excess of $1000 per rim. Give the forum search tool a try: http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/index.php?act=Search&f=4
  19. That's more like it. The factory time is reported as 15.8 secs, so in a stock car that may be achievable. I'm just having a hard time believing claims of 7.4 secs or below, especially in stock Stivos, which would be a full second quicker than the factory claim. I am yet to beat 8.4 in my 3 or 4 attempts timed on a G-Tech. Contrary to some, I am not a crap driver, so without evidence I will not beleive an un modified car will get into the 7's. Give me proof, and I'll be the first to give you mad props!
  20. Anyone have pics of what it looks like?
  21. The 2ZZ-GE max hp (at the flywheel) is 141kw, not 132.6kw, right?
  22. Any idea of Peekay's 0-100 time?
  23. How much pipeage is in that engine bay! That thing would lag like buggery.
  24. 140 bhp at the wheels means your mods have been as effective as Peekay's, including the Unichip.... I've got the supplied Turanza rubber, which as I've said elsewhere is actually quite good.
  25. I drive past my dealer every day and they have been getting in (and presumably selling) new Stivos at the rate of 1 every week or so. I'll keep my eye out and see if they stop selling them....
