  1. STOCK OR AFTERMARKET???
  2. yes. suprisingly its not droney at all when i'm highway cruising...
  3. intake will give u the biggest gains ALONE. make sure u get a good pod. with the exhaust, get a second hand varex. *punches lachlan in the face* if not just stick to good brand exhaust. mandrel bends are a must and if u got the money and will keep the car for a long time, go stainless/aluminised steel. the varex is good for me as any "louder than stock muffler" is not acceptable for me on the public roads. varex with the 2.5 inch piping would make a sound around the same as the stock piping so it works for me. spending money on a new varex is a waste IMO.
  4. yes took it to another exhaust specialist n he went around with a stethoscope and didn't find anything. they fixed it right.
  5. got my exhaust leaks fixed by the guys at radiant exhaust. then i took it to an independant exhaust specialist to check for leaks. he couldn't find any. :) so they did fix it right this time. i noticed less of a grunt/noise after i got back my car. does't sound like a v12 anymore ;) power has been increased in the top end range, but i feel it in all the rev range. will do a dyno in the near future to see how much i'm actually getting. about the insurance i went to the aami assessment centre yday morning and the assessor there was really helpful in looking at the damages the repairer did in the process when they were looking for the noise issue. he booked the car in another repairer in north melbourne to look at the noise and after its been rectified, the panel work will commence. this is the 4th time i'm taking the car back to be assessed. i hope it will be the final time for a long long long while...
  6. well i got my exhaust looked at by the guys there again on saturday, they cleaned up the welds. not trusting their workmanship i took it to another reputable exhaust place today for them to look at it. the guy said he couldn't find any leaks with the stethescope. win! the only thing he said he would have done was lifted the pipe abit higher and the hook on the varex looked disgusting but other than that, he reckons the TIG welds between the pipes are satisfactory and the welding on the flanges are satisfactory. i then asked him why the soapy water bubbles when we sprayed on it and he said that with the pressure from blocking the exhaust, the air needs to go somewhere. the tiniest hole will push out the air and hence the bubbles. so we lowered the car again and left it at that. however, the "buzzing" at high RPM is still there. which i really dont mind as it doesnt happen when i drive normally or with the varex closed. i read up a bit though that the 2.5 inch pipe for an NA 1.8L is too big but there has been constant proof on this forums that the 2.5 is good for the 2zz-ge engines. so what else could be causing the buzzing? maybe i should chuck in a magnaflow resonator so it eliminates the buzzing sound? all-in-all 250 bucks for this piping is good. i believe i got it bang for my buck exhaust. i still wouldn't recommend them to anyone though because of their attitude problem
  7. if u have the stock exhaust that should not happen. feel the vicosity of the oil in the engine? enough oil? how long has it been in there for?
  8. saw this guy ^^ yesterday when i drove in autobahn car park. did u hear my exhaust rumble?
  9. i agree, but i wanted u to post it first :P FT-8666? pfft, just becuz he couldnt get the "FT-86" plate. He would think someone who will buy an apparently 35k car and spend big bucks on a plate like that? he can keep it

  11. why does the custom vic plate 2ZZGE has to have a STUPID dot between the 2 and the Z? >=[

  12. net speak makes us even more dumb these days dude, u just have to wait for it. EPA always appears in the mail without notice. be prepared for an inspection for noise level too. didn't I tell u to raise your car before? sorry to hear this mate but u did bring it to urself. just have to wait for the mail to come and act accordingly. one question: why did u get pulled over anyways? n which state u from? edit: ok nsw. they r real bitches with the Modding scene. be prepared for the worst
