  1. Plenty of other stuff john thats NOT toyota related. Hahahahahahah
  2. easier is that YOU CAN MAKE ONE YOURSELF AND FOR OUR CARS???? :P
  3. freaking OBD-II port doing my head in

    1. RedSportivo

      RedSportivo

thats what happens when you buy south aftrican model

  4. i personally would rather the wheels spinning faster to avoid fines from the police. do remember that the stockies spin faster than your actual speed from the factory anyways so in fact having the slightly larger rolling diameter wouldn't matter much. do a simple ratio percentage calculation and u'll find that its not much different at all. goodluck though
  5. oh yeah??? try forgetting the rear right door open and bucket of rain fell overnight? nothing u can do about the water... just run the tank dry (well 5L of fuel left or something) as a means of "emptying out the fuel" and then refuel it with quality petrol again. PROBLEM SOLVERED AND HITTING LIFT AGAIN!!!
  6. whatever replacement pump u get make sure it seals the fuel tank tight. if it doesn't the pump will work alot harder getting the fuel pressure right for the car. this is the reason whenever you open the cap when u refuel the tank it makes a hissing sound. just fork out a bit more for a genuine cap rather than a sca. i suggest going to the wreckers and sget one off a zze (not sure if the caps are the same size for the zze122 tanks). its better than the generic ones out there. to answer ur question, no not enough moisture in a week will damage ur car. but its a good idea to get it replaced asap to the genuine one.
  7. I just looked on the xtreme website. they offer a warranty on workmanship and faulty parts. http://www.xtremeclutch.com.au/page.asp?parentid=9&parent2id=27 i reckon i will see how this clutch and flywheel go for a few more months. and if it still makes the noise before track day in november, i'll make sure i get it checked out. i dont want anything to happen when i'm tracking my car. i want it to perform 130%.
  8. i was looking at this DLC3 scanner http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/451339063/Auto_Scanner_MVCI_OBDII_DLC3_diagnostics.html it claims it works on MOST toyotas from 1996. it doens't say about any other makes/models so i'm guessing this would be the correct one? in comparison to this one which i already have http://cgi.ebay.com.au/V1-4-ELM327-OBDII-OBD2-CAN-BUS-Diagnostic-Scanner-USB-/110685966882?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19c565d222 the only procotol the latter does not list is the "CAN 2.0B ISO 11898" OR. if ur really serious, rip out some dosh for this baby here... LOL http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/347207474/DENSO_toyota_intelligent_ii.html DEFINATELY will work on every toyota there is ;) hikaru, is your 1zz-fe corolla is a japanese import? i'm going to try the latter on a japanese 1zz-fe and see if that works. can u also let us know which number pins are occupied in your car? for our corollas its pins: 4-7,9,13,14,16 from a website here http://www.auterraweb.com/obdiipinout.html i have 2 possiblities which protocol 2zz-ge uses... CAN PROTOCOL PINS: 5 - Ground 6 - Data 14 - Data 16 - Power ISO/KWP PINS: 5 - Ground 7 - Data 15 (optional - can be present/not present) - Data 16 - Power i believe the zze corollas have the CAN protocol according to this pdf here http://www.nrgizerbunny.com/supercharger/diagrams/vsc2.pdf more to come in developments...
  9. and dw, they wont eff u up this time. not after what they did to me last time. i made myself heard and now i'm bringing customers to them so they WILL do it right!
  10. Good idea man, I might do that.. thing is, I'll be gone for 10 days so I hope they don't mind me leaving it there for that long lol.. Yeah I know, I'm planning on rolling and/or flaring the guards either way (gets out a heat gun, a jack and some phone books).. about the cops, I don't think they'd care.. but if I happen to get pulled over for speeding or being reckless, I should be fine, they haven't touched Tony in his GTiR yet because he drives sensibly, I'd think the P's were enough for him to get caught but nothing yet.. LOL tony... sensible!? :D it will take more thana few days for them to do it man. have u got a place yet? i reckon go to the place i took my car to for my insurance work. my cuz got his front lip and side skirts painted there (honda EK civic) they did an excellent job. when u going overseas? let me know so i can driv eu back home if u need to after u drop the car off.
  11. U can try the first USB cable then report back to us if it works! :D
  12. LAWL. Why don't u put it in the shop BEFORE u go overseas so it will b ready when u GET BACK FROM OVERSEAS? :D If the wheel sticks out from the arch gg for u... how long u can get away without popo catching u? Leave that to how lucky u r :P its a corolla so they wont look twice BAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  13. Depends on conditions of the country u r in. Here in Australia, the weather isn't too extreme so we can get away with longer servicing intervals. Not sure about other countries.
  14. TOYTRD I see regualrly on our meets so IF you come u may see him one night haha! He has nice fitment but also scrapes everywhere ;) Spacers are NOT legal. +25? Feck, u crazy mofo
  15. U r close to me ;) another thing is the fuel filter. There ie a link to a couple of things u can do yourself in my signature. All the other stuff is pretty simple (ie. engine and transmission oil, filters sparkies. Brakes are easy if u know what ur doing but I recommend u to get the rotors resurfaced every time to change the pads. Also if ur not really braking hard, don't worry too much about changing brakes. When pads wear down just change them and not the rotors. Only change the rotors when u wear them down. Goodluck mate
  16. right on that one goz. i think mine green rims a +40 offset so the fronts sit flush with the guards but the rears sit a little bit in the guards more than the fronts. 16x7 is good u'll save coin on the tyres u get ;)
  17. either way its respect to you. shows that you don't need a powerful engine to kick butt but if i dont beat you, i shouldn't represent corolla sportivos anymore HAHA joking :P as borat says... "VERY NAISSS! I LIKE!"
  18. whos that short-a$$ guy in the blue shirt? and trung u need to post vids up on ur new PB!
  19. Link here should still be working
  20. Ok folks update. i've went so far as to ring toyota south africa and spoke with "keith" the corolla sportivo equivalent is the same as the corolla RSi in south africa. keith said that the OBDII/DLC3 diagnostic device is needed to read the ecu codes and stuff to the laptop. i got cut off short so i will give them an email or a call tomorrow afternoon and see what they say. at last some light at the end of the tunnel... sent an email to toyota south africa and awaiting their reply now according to this website --> click here, it says that the stivos are ISO15765(CAN) protocol. why then this cable doesn't work i have no clue. FYI - our stivos have pins in the 4,5,6,7,9,13,14,16
  21. just found this... http://www.obdsa.com/elm327.htm GG for the sportivo made in south africa really peeves me off... why the hell would they make the zze corolla different to all the other corollas out there? doesn't make sense to me. so now we know this thing doesn't bloody work on our south african made zze corolla. the question is WHAT PROTOCOL DO THEY USE???????
  22. feck... ur getting way too ahead of me. just wait til novemeber...
  23. bumping up an old thread. i too have bought an obdII reader. it didn't work on my stivo. rang toyota customer relations in sydney and they said that ALL toyotas made across the world is OBD-II compliant. OK, so i decided to try on johnniebois ZRE152 and WHAM! it worked... some things didn't work like the fuel consumption and what not, but at least the main things worked: coolant temp, rpm, tacho... good for winton to record on the laptop and playback ;) also the dyno and drag strip worked too. johnnie made a flying start and got a 17.5 second in 1.4 mile ROFL! :D dyno... well... 20 kw @7026RPM??? too bad i didnt save the drag strip data sheet, it would have been epic :P so still on the freaken quest to get this damn thing to work on our supposedly OBD-II compliant sportivo anyone wanna lend me their stivo for me to try out on their car? what about any zze122s out there?
