  1. "the parts in the engine go round and round... bounce bounce bounce... boom boom BANG!" :P ohh toyota engines can take much more punishment i can be sure of that :D
  2. this car... pulls... omfg, well done ben. i think a few of us know now the real potential when modded up correctly. and LOL @ dwee
  3. [VIC] mini meet up to welcome Ben Yip from NSW today! Vicroads Sunshine Car park at 6pm meet and greet and chat and dinner! hope to see you guys there. :)

  4. as Chris said above search button works well :) but since ur a new member ill answer ur question straight up depends on the log books. what service has it done and how often its been done. I'd just go ahead and change everything just in case being a 200k old car. that's: engine oil and gear box oil, fuel filter, radiator water, power steering fluid. brake fiuld u can do when u change the pads and or rotors. accessory belt might be a good thing to check for cracks too. these usually last around 100k. spark plugs check the gap. should be a 1.1mm gap for the 2zzge. ocv filters and strainers may need servicing too. sounds like alot but most of this are in form of DIY (look at my sig B)) should help u somewhat. good luck and welcome to the forums. hope u enjoy ur stay and congratulations on ur new purchase ;) now go exercise those high cams :P oils are a personal preference. for me I started with penrite HPR5 then moved to penrite sin5 cuz I can get it cheap :) I've tracked with the HPR5 so no problems there for 45 bucks! I use the Baldwin oil filter (part no. b37) . gear box oil I use castrol syntrax 75w90 as I track my car with the nulon g70 125ml additive. if u aren't tracking then 75w80 should be sufficient as the 90 weight doesn't heat up enough on the street.
  5. thanks mate i'll keep that in mind... yeah i'll see how i go, i pumped them up to 35 psi warm yesterday so i'll let pressure off as i go along on the day. on to some pictures... Still 2 kgs lighter than the stock rims... not too bad... :) Picture taken at dusk i don't think pictures really do justice for some reason the colour doesn't like to be photogenic on photos also i think i'm going to loose the blue nuts and get black ones. they look very out of place.
  6. damn right they are sticky... they stick to almost anything and everything! i can only imagine the grip they would give on the track with higher temperature and heat! although one thing i did notice though when i took the car to run in the tyres in the industrial area, the rear rotors were scraping and carrying on. swapped over the wheels and took a quick look under and i saw that the rotors and pads were fine. i'll conclude that because the dust went inside and stuck between the rotors and the brake pads. its all good now not aking noise no more. hopefully none of this crap in winton! trung: i'm gonna try to shave at leat 3 seconds off my PB, but if i do that earlier in the day i will try harder for a better time! need LSD though. it will help me greatly around those sharp bends :)
  7. trung u would get more than just 1.51 man... although u are learning how the car drives before u push it...

oh well things are definately looking up for me as the other half is in transit to melbourne. i'm going to pick them up myself to save anymore f ups.

  20. would it be recommended if he can go get the alternator rewound/reconditioned? would work out to be cheaper. if not just go genuine denso/toyota. edit: wreckers! :D
  21. just tell them NOT to use fedex/dhl. pieces of turd in a can.
  22. i've emailed the tire rack about how they declared the tyres to customs and also if they included the mosquito larvae declaration for customs to easily pass the tyres. its really bugging me and annoys the crap outta me that i have to pay extra for "clearance fees". i will know for the next set of daily tires i will buy in the near future.
  23. no chance if the tyres dont come to me buy the end of this week <_<
