  1. Well I finally cleaned the Aurion after almost two months. It took me all up 5 hours. 1. Wash 2. Clay 3. Wash again 4. Wash tyres 5. Degrease engine bay then house down 6. Dry everything including engine bay 7. Apply Meguiars nxt 2.0 wax with my buffing machine 8. Tyre dressing 9. Vacuum inside car 10. Wipe all windows inside outside. Done! I love swiping my finger across the car. It's like silk. Clay and wax makes a huge difference.

i agree with the above statement... i was my car all thru winter, rain/sunshine.. will even wash my car as its raining if it is that time of the week... :)apart from satisifying the OCD in me, it also prevents the build up of contaminents on your paintwork.. and regular washing/waxing will also help the rainwater bead off... and also reduce the risk of micro marring :) stay focused!!! :p

It's almost impossible mate. It's either raining or it's WAY too hot to wash the car. Water and soap dries up too too quick like the car is in a oven.

if its raining - soap car up, hose it off, drive undercover and dry/wax/spraywax... if hot; soap one/two panels at a time, hose off, repeat until whole car is done. aint no excuses :)

  7. The throttle blipping procedure sure gives that manual effect and plus it feels like the car is shooting off the line..but i think i have to agree with you when it comes to a drag of the lights on auto mode, the car gets to the 100 quicker..but i havent done the sequential shifting with the foot planted to the floor, is it faster to the 100 than in auto mode? I admit I haven't tried this at the drags, so I don't have numbers. But after trying to go through the gears manually with my foot down, I've realised it takes longer then normal for the gear to change. I just feel that in Auto it changes not only faster but smoother. Only reason one would use the semi-auto would be to down gear from a certain speed and launch instantly, possibly to change lanes/overtaking?... then changing back to auto of course. Which drags do you take your Aurion to?
  8. Is it just for a quick oil change and oil filter change? Is your car still under warranty?
  9. I really can't be bothered with watching my fuel any more. My average consumption has shot up to 12.1 and I've been using BP Ultimate now for 7 months straight from the same service station.
  10. Yep. I'm running 38 at the fronts as well. I found this to be perfect. But this would differ with the sportivo versions. Since the non sportivo aurions don't have sports suspension and is softer. I think a higher PSI feels good. But if I had the stiffer sports suspension. I would do about 36-35 fronts.
  11. Huge gridlock today in Melb CBD. Seriously, wtf was with people blocking the intersections? I never heard so many horns beep at the same time. Sounded like new york city during peak hour...

  12. I used to use amorall UNTIL I found this: http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/Meguiars-Classic-Shine-Protectant.aspx?pid=225593#details It is (without exaggeration) 100 x BETTER than armorall dash spray. This meguiars spray smells so damn nice, and leaves the surface shiny and NOT oily like the armorall. I'm definitely I convert to this spray after using amorall dash spray for 3 years.

  16. Cheers guys, will keep coming to a complete stop as usual :)
  17. Did my ABS activate today? I never had them turn on before. Some idiot ran in front of my car today and I slammed on the brakes from about 20KM/h and it made a rumbling noise. Would that have been the ABS?
  18. Far out, mine is two years old too. Thanks man, you just reminded me I need a new one too. Current one is really started to show its age Today, I didn't do much to the car except drive it to St Kilda beach with a couple of mates. Kept to my promise today and bought a large size synthetic Meguairs chamois. $25 each, so it better be good and also bought another set of Altrax number plate covers since I broke my other one thanks to getting too close to a cars bull bar. lol. Oh yeah, I also finally received my Supercheap Auto traders card in the mail today. Yay :D
  19. Did I just miss a big hissy fit in here?

  21. Why wait so long for road side assist? Just call a mobile mechanic and get them to come down straight away.
  22. So few days ago my dad drove my car and I was in the passenger seat and I noticed that when he reversed, before coming to a complete stop with the car still slight motion, he put it in D. I told him off to first come to a full complete stop before changing from R to D, I was about to lecture him about why you shouldn't change gears while car is in motion (about 1-2KM/h) but then I stopped and I thought, hmm I have no clue why! lol. It's just something that I do, come to a complete stop before changing gears. Being in a lot of other peoples cars I have realised most don't come to a complete stop and change gears from R to D while the car is still slightly rolling. I thought this is not good for the transmission. So just wondering, is it a bad thing to do? And how do you change gears from R to D? Do you always come to a complete stop or do it while still in motion?
