  1. That sure looks like it. DJK pointed me to the wrong direction! Bugger, too late to look at it now.
  2. I still cannot find it, but is it this? (I put the car on a jack but I'm not eager enough to get under the car with just the jack alone, lol.
  3. Well here is a before and after :) http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk63/zomgunique/Car/DSCN2851.jpg http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk63/zomgunique/Car/DSCN2853.jpg
  4. Thanks, well I still failed it removing it no matter how much I tried. lol. But I managed to clean the radiator anyway by brushing the fins and hosing it all down. A lot of bug crap came out and dust. On further inspection its not rust, I just took some fluid out and put it into a clear glass and its clean. Its the pink fluid that made it look like rust.
  5. Guys, I just popped open my radiator cover and I just found the radiator cap. I never knew the Aurion has one!! I don't think its ever been opened in its life time. Anyway, I opened it the the pink radiator water is rusty. Is this normal??? The overflow bottle is prestine clean but the water in the raditor cap is a bit rusty. Also, I'm having heaps of trouble removing the grill. Both two screws are off on top and the middle clip that u pry open but the bottom is still stuck.
  6. Go inside your car and look at the position where the glove box is. Now look underneath your car and you will see a bit of open hose sticking out around that position. Thanks for the quick reply. I'll be taking the car into the back to start pulling the grill apart and have a look for the drain hose. I would have never thought it was near the glove box. I was looking right at the front of the car like where the oil filter is and where the pan for the tranny is. Arrgg.
  7. You disengage the clips at the bottom of the grill by either pulling up or pushing down on them (I can't remember) while pulling the grill forward. If you look closely at the back of the grill after removing the radiator trim, it will all start to make sends because you can then see the clips. Alright thanks :)
  8. Not normal. Would you know where the drain hose is? I want to poke something into there to see if its not blocked.
  9. Seriously, come on guys. Am I the only guy where the heater smells funny AFTER running the a/c???? I know for sure that there should be water under the car but I never ever see water after parking in the garage and coming back to check underneath. Is this normal for the Aurion?
  10. I have looked for a good 20 minutes and cannot locate the drain pipe for the aircon. Does anyone know where it is located? and where the heater core is!
  11. Crap... Well removing the bumper looks like a no no for me. I could probably remove it if I can be stuffed but I'm sure that putting it all back together will be a big challenge. I'll just remove the grill and brush, spray as much as I can. When removing the grill (after taking the two screws off) how should I remove the rest of the grill from the clips? A pulling up method? A pulling inwards/outwards method? etc... The Aurion is annoying car to mod. My 97 camry was a dream to pull it apart and back together again. I don't think there was not one thing I did not pull apart on that car. I even removed the whole dash hahaha.
  12. quick update after driving around some more tonight: I don't think this is a placebo effect but I can swear that changing gears like (like from R to D etc) feels so much smoother. Usually these would kick or jolt into gear. Now you literally cannot tell that you are shifting to gear. gear changes definitely feel smoother overall. That annoying jerkyness is gone.
  13. Got this super cheap brochure in the mail today, not sure if this is also for other states other then victoria:
  14. Errrm,, hmm. How do I do that magic trick? is it easy dc'ing the foggies?
  15. Well well... this would really explain why Toyota recommend changing it at 90,000km under sever conditions and in every other scenario, it's just an inspection. I knew this new fluid they are using isn't entirely crap. And by the way.... you didn't mention what I was look forward to. lol. I was hoping you forgot about that.. *Hands DJK $100* :P edit: And yes, Toyota was not bull sh*tting. The tranny oil (atf WS) is amazing stuff. It can definitely take you an easy 100,000K. But like I said, at 62K mine looked blood red where as brand new was almost like pink.
  16. For first timer, not too easy especially those who rarely does DIY, like me.. :( Broke a clip of my sportivo grill. Ask DJKOR, and he'll said doesn't take longer than 5 minutes and very simple. But now, I can do it easily too, at the cost of a clip of course. :P lol, oh crap! I hate broken clips. I seen there are two screws on top. I thought it would have been as easy as removing those screws and pull it off.
  17. I looked inside my radiator and it got fair amount of bugs wedged in it. It I were to remove the front grill will this be enough to hose down the radiator? Is it easy to remove the grill because I've never done it before...
  18. How does a 1w light drain a battery? Autobarn are having a sale on Super Charge Silver car batteries at $99. Save $40. Does anyone have any experience with the brand Super Charge? +1!!!!!!! I once left BOTH my map reading lights on overnight and noticed like 3pm the next day. Nothing happened. How can your small light flatten the battery?
  19. Okay, well I'm home now. Everything went okay. In the end we only used about 6.1 litres of oil after the flush. My car is on 62,000KM and the transmission oil was still good enough (IMHO) until at least 100,000KM, easy! If I knew the state of the oil I would have left it alone, but I have no regrets. At least I know that almost everything in the car was replaced etc when I had the car so now I know the full state of my vehicle and that I don't ever need to change the oil for another four years Gear changing feels smoother. You cannot notice a considerable amount of difference because the old oil was already clean so the transmission was performing okay anyway. But the new fluid did smooth out gear changes of course, as the new oil was more pink and the old oil was like a dark blood colour. Anyone who is thinking of doing this and your car is around the same KM's as mine, don't spend the money and wait until you hit higher Km's unless you don't care about the money, I say go ahead and do it. Now all I gotta do is just keep an eye on the gasket to see if any leaks arise. Gaskets just out of your luck can sometimes fail.
  20. Add me in to the group buy. +1 to rear sway :)
  21. Update. The pan is dropped. And the oil is still clean like red wine. Bugger!! Wish the Aurion had a dip stick. Oh well, might as well still get it flushed while I'm here :). But one magnet had shavings and the other was totally clean. Edit: ok. Now I compared it to fresh fluid and the one in the car is much darker then fresh oil.
  22. That is a cool link. Will read it. Your correct again. The mechanic DID say 10 litres but when I got freaked out at how much it will cost he said it could also be 8. All will be revealed tomorrow. Yay :) edit. The strainer shown on the first picture on that link looks like the one I was shown.
  23. That part is nothing like what I was shown. What they showed me was something no bigger then 14 15 cm and flat with a mesh filter. It's not what the mechanic said but also the dealer when I called today. But either way one us is wrong. I'm guessing me because I usually am. But I hope I'm not because then a don't need to spend like 116 on one :D oh yeah. I was also told that a flush requires 8 litres aprox. This was confirmed by the dealer and mechanic today. Not the 6 litres I initially said. Also can the parts you have now fit in your trd :)
  24. Haha. I was more on the non money side but something like not bring allowed to wash the car for a month. Or is betting $109 less painful I'll show my mechanic your picture of the strainer as well and see what he says as an ex dealer mechanic. I'll try to keep you updated with the iPhone.
