  1. I got evidence from here http://www.importtuner.com/features/0610impp_catalytic_converter_removal/index.html It gives 3hp more on a civc
  2. I am going to change the header soon anyways, but wondering can I change the catalytic convertor as well to reduce back pressure I have catback already installed.. Is it legal as well? Or is it a waste of money?
  3. Someone has made a custom header for the 2ZR-FE yaris (1.8) http://www.scionlife.com/forums/showthread.php?t=149730&page=3 I guess here is the dyno for that yaris 1.8 http://www.scionlife.com/forums/showthread.php?t=152565
  4. http://blog.goo.ne.jp/daiichiseyomaru/e/df8e70c01220c2661a0e1ce68186ceee it is a 1.6 Turbo for WRC It is saying the regulation of 2011 WRC is likely to change to 1.6Turbo According to my research http://www.rallysportlive.com/2010/08/toyota-set-to-decide-in-next-two-months/
  5. Yes, the headers reduce the back pressure, similar to what catback do, but more efficiently would this reduce low end torque or increase? depends on the header, according to my research, a 4-2-1 header can increase the low end torque, the 4-1 header, reduce the low end torque and power, but increase the high-end torque and power The design of the header is important for that weapons r header, i have no dyno chart to prove so far
  6. Yes, the headers reduce the back pressure, similar to what catback do, but more efficiently
  7. This. Good on ya for going ahead and planning to get one, but just don't make posts about saying how good it is until you have the dyno charts to show it. Someone here in the forum have done an dyno chart on the sportivos back to 2004, that's why it gives me confidence http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1505 Someone even comments "Was your baseline minus the CAI? or pre recal? as the 17kW jump is a large jump even for a unichip on this car. As I have only seen gains of ~8 kW on other Sportivos"
  8. I have fixed the link. Unichip is unless ONLY on stock engine, but with CAI+catback+header, that will make so much difference. I have cai+catback already I am going to do a weapon R header first, then this unichip.. Now, that weapone R header is my coming mod
  9. attached is unichip installation menu..looks simple to me
  10. I have bought as well, where should I install, just get a local mechanic? For thoso who are interested in the manifold structure in zre-15x, below are the pictures (I have posted in another post about zre151 assemble map) http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_G_2007_TOYOTA_COROLLA_ZRE151L-GEMNKC_1701.html For those who wonders how much gain for this header I cannot find any data so far, but for this 2008 Sicion 2.4, the gain is 9hp, so the rolla should gain 6-7hp realistic http://www.importtuner.com/powerpages/impp_1002_2008_scion_tc/weapon_r_race_header.html Also suprised by that 4.9hp MegaFlow catback gain
  11. http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/g_G_2007_TOYOTA_COROLLA_ZRE151L-GEMNKC_1.html
  12. Very interested, just need to know who install it for me!!!, Anyone knows good place to install that NST pulley in Sydney?
  13. Sorry, I need clarifications "NA" means stock? My car has Injen CAI and cat back, will it still worth the money.. I am still waiting email reply from Unichip for the number of hp gain in Injen CAI and cat back Also, whether the wiring point is the same.. and ask them to send me the installation menu I have troubles to find out how many hp people actually gain for different types of setup and vehicles, even for non Corolla cars
  14. Thanks for your honest reply..I have emailed them to ask the actual gain for stock cars, and with different settings..Many of these "up 12hp" is just a marketing thing to cover up the truth..I am now lacking data to support my argument..and furthermore, this "12hp", is it on top of the CAI gain, or combining together, if combining together, it actually gain only few hps as you mentioned, which is a waste of money Can you explain on the sportivo gain, as far as I understand, that guy gains 17kw on top of the CAI and flywheel gains.. I understand that the Hilux is not accurate because of Turbo I have to stop "my keen to get this chip", have to force myself to do more reasonable research and if this is really bang for bucks, people would install it, but so far, i doubt anybody install it !!!
  15. But $5xx USD for around 12kw gain, that's amazing..I am not bull**** here, for a Toyota Hilux, the figures are as follows http://digiads.com.au/car-news/latest-TOYOTA-news/2010_Toyota_Hilux_Unichip__201005.html for CAI, it costs around $400-600 to gain 5KW, for cat back, costs around 1K to gain 0-2KW for flywheel, it costs $300-500 to gain 1-5KW (not sure) And second, there are no extractors for zre-15x.. and if you read this forums, people did put unichip on sportivos and find differences (17KW at the wheels a gain)...Have a look at the following with dyno figures http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1505 I am not trying to argue, but I just want to know more the good and bads of this product
  16. http://www.unichip.us/vehicle/vehicles/3484-2009-Toyota-Corolla-18L I am very tempting to buy. 525USD for 15bhp Does it worth it, I worry about the reliability of the car after this, can the engine sustain? How about fuel efficiency, will it waste fuel consumption? Checking the old blogs, I am a bit worried because if you ask around you will find that the guys that have Unichips are impressed when they first get them and over the time the gains that the Unichip gives you wear off as the stock ECU learns around it. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5149 http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1505 * Adds up to 15hp &13ft-lb and also optimizes settings to take full advantage of all bolt-on accessories. * Easily plugs into the stock ECU & ECU harness in minutes , no programming necessary . * Realizes the full potential of Aftermarket add-on's like Cold-Air-Intakes & exhaust systems , as each kit comes pre-mapped for the exact set-up of each car or truck. * No end-user tuning necessary , just plug the kit into the car & you're ready to go. * Easily upgradeable for future add-on's. * Each kit comes with two maps : a low octane performance map & a high octane performance map, switchable from within the vehicle. * Fully tuneable by a Unichip Custom Tuner for customized add-on's . This basically means that the Engine Management System in your ride is now as tuner friendly as the most advanced Standalone systems in the world , without sacrificing any of the factory features. This feature is unmatched by any reflash-tuning or other similar product. * Plug 'n Play harnesses are fully Flux capable - purchase Flux when you purchase the Plug 'n Play kit or upgrade later - Flux simply plugs into the Unichip Plug 'n Play harness. * Plug 'n Play kits are removed from the vehicle in minutes , returning the vehicle to stock tuning , without leaving a footprint of ever having been modified (a feature which reflash-tuning cannot match). * ROADSPEED-LIMIT Removal now available . Write : "Remove roadspeed limiter" in the comments section of the checkout . This feature is only available on this website.
  17. Very interested, just need to know who install it for me!!!,
  18. My comments (italic are quoted from the article) I am a ZRE154 owner The dash isn’t very well thought through as it reflects bright light right back at the occupants. If you’re wondering why so many Corolla drivers are wearing sunnies, it aint because they’re too cool for school – it’s because it’s bloody bright up front! I don't understand.. The downside to the high mounted gear knob is that the hand brake is also high mounted at an awkward angle. zre154 changed this The Corolla’s engine lacks torque and requires lots of revs to do its best work. it is not that bad when comparing the torque with other manufacturer with 1.8 engine Given the long overtaking lane, we took it easy by dropping back to 5th and mashing the accelerator. Ummm, did it actually slot into 5th? We don’t seem to be going much faster! OK, let’s drop it back to 4th. By now, the 4WD is picking up momentum and even in 4th, we’re only very slowly pulling away. Fark it! Gun it in 3rd! Even with 3 downshifts, the Corolla isn’t slamming us back in our seats. In fact, at highway speeds, there’s the very real risk of running out of revs in 3rd! We found ourselves yelling at the car – “Move! Accelerate! Anything! Please!”. I agree, I have to memorise the speed limit of the first few gears to prevent me from putting into wrong gear, 4 th gear is sluggish, i agree,, I have CAI installed, much more better in overstaking, but for stock, it is a bit sluggish Compounding the problem is that its peak torque is developed relatively high in the rev range – at 4,400rpm. For 1.8, this is accepatble when comparing with other manufacturers The manual gear shift is light but doesn’t like to be hurried. The shift action itself is a little sloppy and gear changes aren’t a flick of the wrist affair – no “snick, snick” sharp action here. I agree, i occassionally cannot engage the first gear from neutral, I have sorted of engage "half gear" The Corolla also has a weird tendency to “over rev” between gear changes, unless you completely let off the accelerator before putting the clutch back in and changing gears. I agree, At first, I thought it was my bad driving habit, dun realise this review also has the same problems, not sure if other people has this problem. It is a bit annoying They felt spongy and weak and weren’t progressive in their stopping power. In fact, we didn’t get any real stopping power until almost halfway of brake pedal travel, especially at high speed. I agree, but I am not sure whether corolla has a weak braking system, anyone comments? There is one area where we found the Corolla to be very uncomfortable to drive – it has such weak low beam headlights. I agree, we find out this problem when we rent this car We’ve easily bettered 7.2L/100klm in a Honda Accord Euro, which is a car with 40% more power than the Corolla. I think the car must sit more than 1 person, this adds up 0.2L/100KM... I am able to do 6.9L/100KM this week because of school holiday in Sydney
  19. i was interested. but a few major problems. 1. no money XD 2. where does ti go 3.what does it do 4.void warranty? Look the following links for answer to your questions: http://www.nonstoptuning.com/ http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic....mp;&start=0 The group buy price will be $99. Shipping to Aus should be around $20-$25 Void warranty. It should not void it. When you install ad aftermarket part to any car that part will void the warranty partially and only if the problem of the car can be traced back to that specific part. Meaning that the dealer ca not blame a brakes failure on your aftermarket Cold air Intake. So if a problem can be traced back to the pulley it could void the warranty. That been said... thousands of people have installed NST pulleys in their cars with NO single problem ever been reported. There are hundreds of reviews... 100% positive Where does it go? In place of the OE crank pulley/damper What does it do? It will released a few HP (3-5whp) will improve fuel economy a little and will improve the throttle response of the car. It acts by the same principle a lightweight flywheel does. By reducing rotational mass. We need 5 more people interested to meet the requested group buy quantity. Hey mate i'd be keen for a set of these!! count me in! I am also interested, count me in, what is the status now
  20. Applies to zre 152 as well, I guess, also shows the difference between the zre engine and zze engine
  21. http://www.megazip.ru/ru/auto/toyota/view/399/3559/38369/355939#g355883 As I have posted few posts below about the assemble map of zre154, but i think it applies to zre152
  22. All toyota part numbers below http://www.japan-parts.eu/ Full facelift ZRE 154 parts map as below, I don't know what language is that, but there are japanese in the picture (I can read japanese) http://au.toyotaowne...showtopic=29681 Below is the English version of ZRE-151 parts http://www.toyodiy.c...L-GEMNKC_1.html The part number might not be the same in Australia, but these maps can save so many people For brake option, DBA has slotted disc for $125 pair, sold in pedders QFM has A1RM and HPX brake pad for our cars, I have A1RM for $165 pair, please contact GSL rally sport for details, need to wait 4 weeks for custom made They also get Remsa brake pad which cost $110 pair for the front Pedders also got camber bolt at the front, maximum -2.5 can be achieved.
