  1. Mr RUNX Syndal Station, I parked a few spots away from you. You were there early!
  2. No not sure that will happen, it's something to do with the idle speed control as it seems to occur mostly when the car is warming up and it comes off fast idle. I have to say I haven't had this happen for quite some time now.
  3. Mmm Max Brenners.... might pop down there for some chocolate waffles with a hot chocolate on the side.... mmmm..... chocolate....
  4. Do you have a Sunroof ? Sometimes the intallation of the Sunroof Compatible roof lining can squeek and rattle. Not much you can do but turn up the music.
  5. What state are you in? Check with the relevant road authority in your state, they will all the info on their web sites. In Victoria, legally you may only go 2" Larger in Diameter and 1" Wider than the original fitment to your vehicle, so for example if you currently have 15x6 fitted (And this is what is on your tyre placard) you can go to 17x7. Now there is also a bit of a loophole to it but it somewhat of a grey area and open to interpretation as most police will go by the tyre placard fitted to your car, It is, if your car originally had 15" wheels, but other models of your car are available with 16" wheels, then you may be able to fit 18" wheels legally as your shape/model of car has 16" wheels. But like I said this is a bit of a grey area and open to interpretation. The most important thing not only legally but for your own safety is that you maintain the same or better weight loading. Eg if you're tyre placard shows a weight load of 91, your new tyres need to be 91 or higher as well. Next most important thing is to maintain the same overall diameter. Just moving this one to Wheels & Tyres ;)
  6. This was my reaction when I got it too :D Glad you're happy with the result. :)
  7. They're two very different choices there. Test drive both thoroughly and see which suits you best.

    Yaris TRD

I read in an article. Toyota has brought a European Yaris TS (1.8l 98kw) to Australia for Evaluation. If it gets a green light, it will wear a TRD Badge.
  9. I believe it's matter of the new, lower figure, being appropriate for the chassis. During testing they may have found the higher output developed too much torque steer and was just a mess in cornering. Remember being supercharged, low down torque would be delivered in spades. Not something that always agrees with a FWD in the twisty stuff. The lower output would give less torque steer and add a more welcomed finesse to it's handling, it still will be fairly quick. But not in the FPV/HSV Territory.
  10. Welcome :) Check Ebay. There's always grilles and eyelids on there for a reasonable price and being light weight items shipping shouldn't cost much.
  11. Some recent ones from the beach just after some rain. :)
  12. Just a tip as Arthurs seat is my second home :D Don't speed as you enter the ascent/exit the descent because it's a bad thing to do ;) wink wink
  13. Nice guide. I'm going to pin this :D
  14. yo's listen to the mintos yo he is like fooly hectic bro
  15. Ok, in doing what you described, you're hitting the rev-limiter. The rev-limited works by cutting your fuel, instantaneously dropping your revs a couple of hundred rpms. The fuel cut is there to prevent you damaging the engine through excessive revs. So, yes, what you've been told is correct, hitting the rev-limiter is not good for the engine. There is no benefit at all in hitting it. It only slows down your driving and leads to premature wear.
  16. xTigRex had 18x7.5's his car was lowered about that much and had rubbing, the tyres eventually ate through the plastic splash guards. So although harder to find, 18x7 is a more suitable size.
  17. The brakes, especially the discs warping has been a problem on SA built Corollas. Have Toyota fix it, it's their problem for fitting poor quality components. Be firm (but polite :D ) that they need to fix it and it's not a "Normal wear and tear issue".
  18. Personally, The S15 - No contest. -The Liberty B4 seems special on paper, but its twin turbo set up doesn't work as it should, it seems to lag a bit. But chassis set up is nice, it's tuned more as a GT than a Sports Car. -Type R/S Close 2nd, great on its own, but If given the choice between a good FWD and a good RWD, I choose the RWD. Plus as you know, NA tuning is $$$. -Alfa GTV V6. One of the sexiest engines on the planet. An alfa v6 at full song is addictive and grin inducing, it's one of those engines. Not as accomplished as the Teg in the twisty bits and little things such as paint finish etc not quite as good as the Japanese cars. But not as problematic as Italian cars of the past. -S15, great, strong engine, but what I like best is the chassis set up, the way they handle stock, it's just a fantastic drivers car. This is my opinion and I have had the opportunity to sample all of these (But it was an AUDM S15 so less power but same car). On the down side, they do have their share of interior rattles and cruising on the highway in 6th gear gives a funny drone/vibration which is often mistaken to be a fault or something wrong, but it's just how it is. Happy shopping mate.
  19. That they tear apart like any other car in a high speed accident It was just sheer luck that the only relatively untouched area was the driver seat (And no passengers!), even then, lucky he didn't loose his head when the roof was sheared off.
  20. Reading it this morning I thought it was pretty funny that Scientists have been looking so far deep into outer space for such a planet and now find this one relatively close, just outside our solar system according to the articles.
  21. Ummm. Why would you want to sustain your revs at 8200rpm? Do you think the engine will last long like that? There's a reason why there's a fuel cut at those RPM's...
  22. Hope it get's found all in one piece, but be prepared to have the police tell you they've found your car as a stripped shell. Chances are it's already stripped. Sorry mate that's really bad.
