  1. Thanks mate, I'll' see how I go and let you know.
  2. Haven't painted my calipers yet, I haven't gotten around to getting my wheel nuts spun off and hand tightened. Maybe this weekend, but probably not, as the weather has warmed up nicely lately it's time to go Jet Skiing again :D $170.00 for the tyres is great. The car should look a treat once the wheels are on. I think it'll get alot of attention in the TMCA car park :D
  3. Did you end up settling on the Speedy Holotype R's? What Tyres did you get?
  4. Negatron's bling red rolla parked at Box Hill shops yesterday.
  5. I'd work the suspension first you'll get so much more enjoyment out of the car. If you spend that money on performance mods you'll still only see small increases in power. <_< But spend it on suspension and you'll see a dramatic improvement in the way the car handles. ;) And it will look horn too :D
  6. VVT-Li has the kick in. Pretty sure the thing jumps to another set of lobes, first on exhaust outlet, then inlet manifold.....but im not 100% sure. correct me if i'm wrong :) ← Yes that's right VVTLi does kick in after 6000 rpm but VVTi is constant.
  7. Just give it to rollamods for a few days... :D
  8. They look similar because they're both Toyota's... More and more manufacturers are giving their cars a common corporate face eg, All BMW's have the Kidney Grille, All Audi's now have the singular upper and lower grille. etc The share common features so the brand is immediately recognisable. So you can count on the next gen Corolla having some similarities to the Yaris.
  9. yeah that car would have had trouble getting up driveways let alone any off road work. I also saw TRD_141's old black Sportivo, very dirty! :o
  10. It's just like when the holden 202 went from red to blue fitted with emissions and the output went down. This is only an immediate measure to quickly/easily/cheaply get the motor through Euro IV. The motor will most likely go through future evolutions resulting in increased power as is always the case. But isn't the existing cat already connected directly to the manifold/headers ?
  11. Ok, VVTi is not like Lift or VTEC, it doesn't "kick in" at certain RPM. VVTi is active throughout the entire rev range from idle to cut-out in order to maximise torque & power at all rpm. Just want to clarify that because alot of people seem to say it. Nice result from the e-manage tune, glad your happy with it.
  12. I think I'll get my CV's checked at the next service (Seeing it'll be my last one with warranty coverage).
  13. What do you want from it ? Do you want it to look better?; or Perform better?; or Handle better?; or All of the above. There's alot you can do, but give us an Idea of what you would like.
  14. Hello & Welcome Installing the RIGHT muffler can improve your car's performance by reducing the back pressure in the exhaust system and allowing better flow, but installing an incorrect one that has too little back pressure can reduce your performance. For example, installing those generic straight through cannon type mufflers that you tend to see alot of won't necessarily be good. Do your research, speak to different exhaust specialists and don't purchase the first one you find. Air filter/Air Panel Filter, same thing. When you read people state they've installed a K&N, BMC, Toms, TRD, Green Stuff, etc replacement filter or panel filter, it means they've replaced the standard air filter ( In the stock airbox ) with a better flowing Cotton Gauze or foam type filter, which gives better air flow and a very slight increase in power. K&N and BMC are generally the best. Most CAI's come with a filter already, generally you don't need to change it, but a few people do, it's just personal preference and some filters have been shown to be better than others. ITG and K&N extreme have shown best results. ECU - Engine Control Unit or simply chip means that you upgrade the engine's management computer. Most of the time manufacturers program the engine management with very conservative settings to safeguard themselves. You can increase the engines performance by having a less conservative tune and optimise the engines settings for better performance. Because you take your other modifications into consideration when tuning all the settings, it's best to do this as one of the last mods.
  15. I've seen it too, looking very sad indeed.
  16. I average 8.5L / 100km mixed driving Best Ever was 7L / 100km (Never going to repeat it because I was driving like grandpa) Edit: Just averaged 7.3L/100km mixed driving (All these are on Shell Optimax)
  17. Search and you'll find comments from many happy on this forum... To name few: Peekay & Ilivfor6 (when they did own Sportivos) Screaminrolla Northy
  18. Looks like it belongs to a AE111 or AE112, It doesn't have the grill or grill surround to fit the ZZ pre or post facelift cars.
  19. You can have a quick look by popping out the black plastic on either side where the fog light normally goes. You'll see the brown plug sitting there neatly tucked up if you have the harness already fitted to your car. I believe the Conquests have it but Ascents don't but I correct me if I'm wrong.
  20. Whilst you're there speak to him regarding a custom cai group buy. Remember he stated he couldn't believe the prices of the Injen/AEM/TRD CAI's and was confident they could manufacture something better for ALOT cheaper...
  21. That d!ck took the trophy as the world's most stupid a$$hole. :o I'll organise a run to Mornington to soon, like I did last year as the weather gets warmer. :)
  22. Have fun but don't be heroes when driving the Black Spur. No matter how much you think you know the road it will always throw a surprise at you and there's alot of trees to hit and cliffs to drop off. One thing also to keep in mind is alot of families use the road to travel to and from Lake Eildon, that means car loads of kids and 4wd's towing boats. Be sensible and have fun.
  23. So... If I have fogies, relay, switch and pin converter (for the switch) I should be able to simply hook up to the existing factory fog light looms already there behind the bumper, intall the switch and relay and off I go ?
