  1. Depends on your budget. KYB or even Koni's if you want the extra handling.
  2. Install the RSB yourself! Its only 4 or so bolts on each side! I even managed to install mine without taking any of the wheels off lol. But it would be heaps easier if you took at least 1 off though.
  3. Whiteline sway bar for the rears is a must! Dont need to do the fronts. I'd also get low springs + shocks combo if you want something harder and not scrap. Mind you my superlows + stock shocks when I had them still left plenty of clearance. (135mm off the ground at the chassis rails under the front doors) At the moment I have coilovers and its sits about 110-115mm off the ground. It does scrap over some badly designed carpark ramp but I can still make it into most driveway abeit a lot slower. As for brakes, I'd go to the wreckers and see if you can find a set of gen3 camry twin piston calipers as they bolt on to your car. (Only the upper models had them) I wouldnt bother with the engine unless you are willing to go forced induction.
  4. Which year/trim model of camry do you have again? There is a very cheap upgrade that you can do if your camry isnt the "touring" or "grande" versions. These 2 have the upgraded twin piston calipers from factory. I'm running them on my gen4 at the moment. Just find a set from the wreckers and clean them up. Then bolt them on. You will need new pads though. For handling, there isnt anything better than a whiteline rear sway bar. It transforms the handling completely. And coilovers are good if you dont mind the constantly bumpy ride (our roads arent the best). However saying that I have some on my car and I've set it to hard. I'm used to the bumpiness and dont actually notice it anymore. Furthermore, if you are really into the handling side, I'd suggest nice rubber shoes for your wheels. Not the "nankangs or similar budget tyres" but I'm talking B Potenza's Adrenalines, Falken FK452 at least! No point doing all these upgrades if your tyres are just going to slide around anyways.
  5. I personally would go for the Gen5 without a thought. Yes its a little older but there are a lot more features in it, especially the nice v6!. Plus it taken its chunk in depreciation already :)
  6. 3s-gte however i guess there is a lot of effort needed. 3s-ge 5s-fe - dunno about this but if this one fits then the 1mz-fe/3vz-fe "may" fit as they went into the same body in later camry generations.
  7. http://www.boostcruising.com/forums/index....howtopic=427634 Its safe to assume that they will be able to do FWD cars with fans I guess. So for those who didnt get to dyno their car the last time, this may be a good opportunity. I dont know if I'll be there since my car is still not ready :(.
  8. Its not really the "how many years" before changing tyres, its usually how many km's. Someone once told me, 2x the speed, 3x the tyre wear.
  9. You do have projectors don't you? Dont put them in if you dont as you wont "glare" all the other drivers, you'll completely blind them... And its the initial current draw that is HUGE on hid's. My 35w hid kit blew both the stock fuses when turning them on for the first time. I'd hate to see what happens with 55w kits.
  10. http://www.fastfoursforumscarclub.com/temp...o_pricelist.pdf The ones I'm talking about are the Esotec 242 (GT means slimmer fit so it'll work better with shallow doors) rrp: $1099 The top of the range one the Esotars are EXPENSIVE as you can see and they dont come as a set. If you are in Brisbane, I'd recommend visiting Northfield Moorooka as they have the 242's on the board AND the Esotars in a demo car for you to listen to. http://www.northfieldmoorooka.com.au/ This is where I get everything, and all of them are very knowledgable. They are also the organisers of the SQ competitions in QLD! They will even send products to you if there isnt a stockist near you. http://www.northfieldmoorooka.com.au/gallery%20TWEAKD.htm <-- the demo car with the Esotars. Its a TOYOTA :P [edit] http://www.mobileaudiosolutions.com.au/dealers.htm Here you go all stockists are listed! [edit2] I don't work for any car audio shop or in the industry in any way shape or form. Just a happy customer. :)
  11. Yeah that is the previous model Esotar tweeters. The are massive and weigh more than the 6.5in woofers I have in my doors. The detail and warmth from them is amazing (aural heaven) lol. BUT in saying that I won more competitions with my dynaudio 240s (their basic 2 way set with the normal size tweeters) because of the ease of install, tuning, and positioning. There isnt many places you can install something as big and heavy as the esotars :P. That is the Esotar and that is a 6.5in woofer beside it! The new Esotars however is a lot smaller because of the use of stronger magnets. They sound just as awesome too, but heaps easier in terms of install and positioning.
  12. Silicon. (the gutter ones as you dont want them to chew through the metal!)
  13. There are definitely places in NSW and VIC that sells them as there are quite a few people competing in comps with them. The 242s that i was talking about is actually the Esotec range as the Esotars are a LOT more expensive! I had a set of 240s, the predecessor or the 242s which netted me quite a few wins in SQ comps. Upgraded them to the previous model Esotars a few years back. Both are awesome, just that the latter was even better.
  14. If you are doing major stuff like FI, then it may pay to get a manual camry in the first place as the autos can and will fail over time. They dont cope with with the extra torque very well. However if you arent doing anything drastic than you can definitely keep the auto. However saying that quite a few people in the states has said that a supercharged auto feels very similar to a na manual 5 speed! So you do gain performance through the shorter gearing (1 extra gear!) and do without the 15-20% parasitic loss the auto box sucks up. I am in the middle of converting mine because even with a measly 4psi boost, the auto box was dying.
  15. Have you had a look or more importantly listened to the Dynaudio 242 - 2 way components? I prefer these to the Focals as they are a LOT more smooth! They are roughly the same price!
  16. Spotted DJKOR yesterday on milton road heading towards the city at about 1pm! Looks nice :) Wasnt in my car though. :(
  17. Wow my full synthetic oil's always been amber, normal oil colour. I'm missing out!
  18. All engine oil that I have seen are light golden colour. Green is weird!! Just read the product pdf off the shell site and the "Helix Super" should be amber.
  19. Since the throw angle is still the same with the shifter cut, is it really faster than stock? Whereas a short shifter kit actually decreases the throw angle while still retaining the standard height of the shifter. Just reading this, thats all. http://www.twmperformance.com/short-shifter.html
  20. Image Dynamics Subs. One of the best brands of Subs for SQ. Many people use them for SQ competition successfully.

    CAI for 1MZFE

I'm running a short ram intake with a pod filter and everything the same as before. The intake will not actually flow that much more air because the most air it can suck through is 0psi of pressure. Even with the charger installed, there is no need to look at replacing the sensor even though its pulling in a LOT more air. If everything was fitted right then I dont see how anything could have changed except for noise. Gearbox and brakes are not effected by the intake.
  22. nope. But lots of people will be hi beaming you back heaps
  23. Projectors made for RHD cars should have a cut off that looks like this --------------------------------\__________________________________ This is so that the left side is brighter (the curb and foot path) In a LHD car, it'll look like this as their curb/foot path is on the other side of the road. ____________________________/----------------------------------- This is what my head lights with Lexus projectors retro fitted in looks like. (ignore the angle as the road wasnt flat but you can see what I mean)
  24. Don't even think about using HID's without projectors. And you will need to still mod those projectors as they are made for LHD not RHD so they will be brighter on the wrong side unfortunately.
  25. E153 gearbox off a camry will cost between $600-800 depending on km and year. And the axles off the manual camry will be extremely hard to find but they are about $175 each side. And you have to specify the abs or the non abs ones as the abs ones have a clip for the sensor. Dont ask me how I know :P Don't spose you know this info Anthony coz the car's in surgery at the moment doing the exact same thing? Hehehehehe... damn need LSD mate!! I dont know what you are talking about haha and I wouldnt really call it the "exact" same thing :P
