  1. E153 gearbox off a camry will cost between $600-800 depending on km and year. And the axles off the manual camry will be extremely hard to find but they are about $175 each side. And you have to specify the abs or the non abs ones as the abs ones have a clip for the sensor. Dont ask me how I know :P
  2. Would that happen to be the brand new one ? :P Cant wait till the M90 comes out :P
  3. There are S/C or Turbo kits available for the 2AZ engines :P
  4. I'll let you know after I get my car back from major surgery some time this week!
  5. Adam said that "It keeps the wheels more planted to the ground, as it reduces transmission movements." Hence putting more torque down on to the road. I've got one sent to me by Adam too.
  6. Depending on what you want, it'll cost you roughly ... $150-200 for a nice set of projectors $200 for a hid kit $100 for a pair of nice shroud You'll need to get a set of clear depo headlights if you have the preface lifted model of the gen 4 as the grooved headlight covers will NOT work. These will set you back about 250-300 for the halo ones that I have. I dont think I'd want to do another set though :P I've already done 3 sets. 1 for myself and 2 for someone else. Its not hard to do but it's time consuming, and there is the extra pressure of making everything perfect when doing it for someone else.
  7. There is none for the Gen4's. You will have to retro fit them yourself if you want projectors. (See Avatar) I have projectors + hid's in my camry. And with all projectors that you buy from the states, you will need to mod them as they are set up to left hand drive not right hand drive. Meaning you will still blind on coming traffic even with those projectors.
  8. That is EXTREMELY high! What is your driving style? Do you like floor it off the line every single time ???? Do you sit in traffic everyday for huge periods of time? Have you checked your tyre pressure? What fuel are you running? I'd suggest maybe resetting the ecu. - Taking the neg off the battery over night and see if that helps.

    1MZ-FE AFM

1MZ-FE doesnt have a AFM, they have a MAP sensor. It is located on the intake about 6-12in from the throttle body. (I'm working off memory as i dont have the car with me and i havent had the stock intake for a while now.) It is a little rectangular thing with a plug. Best you can do is fill it up with premium unleaded and the computer will learn to use it. It will make more power with premium and also have less pinging! [edit] Guessing you kinda have a cold air intake already from the signiture. The next step that I would suggest is a custom Y-Pipe with the front and rear banks join up as the stock setup is restrictive!
  10. Just want to let you know it's illegal to fit 2nd hand seat belts on a car. So dont get them from the wreckers and its the only thing stopping you from flying out the windscreen. Buy new!
  11. There is 2 on the camry's. One in the the front under the bonnet, and one at the fuel pump assembly.
  12. Petrol smell in the cabin is BAD. But you arent using anymore petrol tho so its not really leaking. I'd be thinking something like a dodgy sensor if the fuel consumption is the same. If you take of the bottom of part of the rear seats, you will see the fuel pump assembly there. Check if the smell is coming from that. Or maybe your fuel cap isn't air tight anymore. <-- that last bit was just something the came to me so it probably not the case
  13. But Shan, you drive like a grandma :P hehehe I'd be lucky to get 500 without the blower and extremely lucky to reach 400 with it if there were no highway driving!
  14. Angel gear is the gear that only an angel can save you if things like your brakes fail. --> Neutral. Nothing is slowing the car down for you.

    Buying used

Oil leaks are very common, rust spots. Oxidation on the paints. Clicky cv's are just to name a few common problems.

    d.i.y CAI

Get some pvc and joiners, connect everything together to you desired location. Mark each join so that you know how everything goes back together if they fall apart. Take it off the car and ask an exhaust shop to replicate it with a metal pipe. Or just buy the metal bends + straight bits that you need and get silicon hoses + hose clamps and connect together
  17. Bring your rod and tackle and just go fishing :).
  18. 1. Been with RACQ for about 6 years, never needed to make a claim though - CHEAP!. Now with Just Cars because none of the mainstream insurance people will insure it anymore with the mods :( . Never had to make a claim yet with them either. 2. I only use BP Ultimate or Mobil 8000. If I can't get either of the above, I use Vpower. I'm not going to touch Caltex Vortex Gold anymore because it made my car knock for some reason both times I used it 3. Been with Toyota for a while. Now I do the minor services myself. For major ones, I've just found a friend who can do it for me 4. TN, Solaraguy, and our famous american contacts "ADAM & KING" <-- Knows everything you need know with Camrys!
  19. I'm working on saturday :( ! Well I finish at 1...
  20. I think i grounded my 0 gauge somewhere under or near the battery tray. There was just an unused bolt hole there that I used.
  21. No power gain what so ever unfortunately. Just sounds better. :)
  22. Well there could be a few reasons why it's getting that. Suburban driving as in lots of lights and peak hour stop start? Tyre pressure? Are you using the same tyre and wheel combo? However saying that your are getting the same fuel comsumption as me with the supercharger and thats with me giving it some at times lol.
  23. Hmmm... Well personally, I wouldnt use any of those items. There are definitely better alternatives that are designed and proven to sound awesome in SQ setups. I wont comment on the brands you listed as I dont want to offend anyone using them. And you should just leave the rears as is and spend that money else where as you wont be benefiting from the change what so ever. I have won SQ comps with them in there. From personal experience, it will always end up cheaper to get the right stuff first time than upgrading later because it doesnt suit your needs. So you have to listen to the equipment yourself, preferrably in a car to see if you like it.
  24. $185 nankang ns2. Nice grip in the dry, not very good in the wet. They wear ok but i managed to wear the shoulders in about 25,000km. And at the latter end of their life, their grip decreases dramatically, even in the dry. Personally, I'd invest more money in tyres as said, it may be that $400 that you skimp on now causing an accident costing thousands...or hurting yourself or someone else...
