  1. You can come to my place and put her up on stands. I can help if you trust me :D Done and done :D You are awesome! And of course I trust you, you're a fellow Camry owner Please cross your fingers for me then that I can still drive up there then :) Otherwise thank goodness there are last minute flights!
  2. I'd love to do the go karting but its all so up in the air for me at the moment RE my attendance, as I've mentioned earlier I have applied for another job, so if I get that I don't know if I can get all of the holiday time or come at all, if they let me take paid leave then definitely, but I can't afford it unpaid. If I don't change jobs I'll be up there as planned :) (as I have had the time booked off for months now) But yeah, I will just have to say no to make it easier as you need the money by this week. If I do make it (which is 100% my aim) I will just play photographer :) And stuff you both Daryl and Andrew with the jacks, that's just not fair! How on earth I am going to get the car fully clean is anyone's guess if I get up there lol I'm sure I will think of something though :D
  3. oh TGIF, sooooooooooooo glad its nearly the weekend - I have had enough of work!

    1. Pah

      Pah

      So true that :)

  4. Excellent stuff - I will pass on that winery website too, cheers paradigm. Lol, sorry Tasmanians :( All in good fun! I must admit the only time I've been over there was when I was about 13 and didn't really enjoy myself, but then again now I'm older and from the things above there is lots I missed out on, so I'll definitely have to go back. Mum was stunned when I sent her your replies, busily working out now what on earth they are going to fit into 7 days hehehe As you guys said above, a week probably just isn't going to cut it! You should take a photo of the spirit of the sea sculpture for us all
  5. Wow, thank you all so much - what a gold mine of information :D The scenic railway sounds pretty cool, as do a lot of the museums and bush walks and that. Mum and Nick are big into wineries as well so the Tamar valley would be a goer I reckon! Top stuff on selling your home state :) Now I want to go there too! :D
  6. Hi all, Hoping the Tassie members have some great ideas here :) Mum is heading over on the boat (so they can take the RAV) in November this year and she's just after some suggestions on things to see and do, places to stay etc Unfortunately the tourism website hasn't been of great use and there doesn't seem to be much info online covering all the broader things. I guess the basic idea is to travel down to Hobart and back up again, probably with a stop to Cradle Mountain and also they want to see the Cascade Brewery. Other than that there's not much planned, so where are the must-see's, where can you get a good pub meal, which are the good motels/towns to stay at along the way? They will be there for 7 days. I think Port Arthur is on the agenda but not 100% sure, we went there when I was about 13 so I don't know that she'll go again. Advice and suggestions much appreciated :D
  7. Awesome, I too am very jealous! :D One day I swear Glad to hear they are very comfy so far too and have given you exactly what you wanted :)
  8. Great stuff - what a vibrant and awesome colour the red is, looks excellent!
  9. Great looking wagon! Would love to see some pics of the interior - you're probably best off using something like Image Shack or Photobucket and posting them that way :)
  10. I haven't really won much either, entered quite a few competitions and nothing's ever really come up! When I was in primary school I guessed the lucky envelope (13, favourite number) and won $100, put it and my birthday money together and promptly went on a $300 something dollar spending spree at Toys R Us in Highpoint Also when I was in Uni I used to buy that Take 5 magazine every so often, anyway I submitted the answers and won a pack that had an apron and tea towels lol Not really very exciting.. I'm the kind that will walk past and buy all the raffle tickets etc in the hope of winning and then never actually do :( Particularly that Sids for Kids raffle I think it is which is usually in the shopping centres, and anyway you win your pick of a car or car and boat or $80,000 :D One day!
  11. That's good to know, so if I'm feeling lazy/time poor, can just clay, hit it with SRP and then hit it with EGP :) Although I have Meg's Ultimate Polish to try next time I'm due for a full clean, probably later this month. Actually, definitely later this month, just waiting to see if I can still make it to the annual - fingers crossed, have applied for another job so depends if I get that, will they let me take some paid holiday time :)
  12. True - the trigger pack was actually quite messy and produced a fair bit of over spray, so note to self, apply it first and then go back and clean the wheels with something and a cloth. It works for the lazy side in me though cos hate using and washing the sponge
  13. CT-18 is good, I used to use that before I started real washing Hahah damn you I swear my next house will have a proper lawn, although now I say that if that ever happens it'd be my luck that Bendigo would be on water restrictions again <_< I've actually been using the CT-18 in a spray bottle lately, so I go to the car wash and spray it all over the front end and then rub it in a bit with my hand, rinse off and give it another go. Has worked really well at getting rid of all the bug guts, especially those suckers with the red guts that are really hard to get off. Such a pain though with the road tar etc when you have got a perfectly pristine car and you'll be coming back to it after doing the shopping or something and notice something it your door
  14. I hate when that happens - my method has been Ultimate Quik Detailer and elbow grease... The CT-18 truck wash actually works really well in this area too (and for bugs), but still a little bit of elbow grease required. The Meg's definitely won't harm the wax below (if anything it'll gloss the car up again) but the CT-18 is a bit harsher and you'd probably need to re-apply the wax in that area, although I've used it on my front end and the water is still beading off so I don't think it really stripped the wax.
  15. Thanks Pete - I have actually tried out their alloy wheel sealer and had pretty good results with it :) Although there seems to be a sort of marring on the chrome part of my alloys that doesn't seem to polish up, if I clean/polish them they look really bright and clean, but if you look up closely it looks like sort of water run marks in places. I'm not having much success getting the inside of the wheels clean either, I tried Autoglym Alloy Wheel cleaner on Tuesday and they've come up better, but still not great. On the tyre front though I'm happy to announce that Meg's Endurance Tyre Gel will come in both an aerosol and trigger pack version :D (New 2011 product range) Not out here yet (I imported) but expected to hit the shops in a couple of months, much easier to apply than the gel and I'm impressed with the gloss from one coat, and it reckons you can apply two coats for more. It took quite some time to dry though, so don't expect to be able to spray it on and drive off almost immediately, the product will sling everywhere.
  16. G'day - no 06+ plus Camry or Corolla, or the Aurion? I've looked all these up myself but they're probably a handy addition to your list.
  17. +1 to all of the above, I thought one of AAMI's selling points though was that they let you choose your own repairer. I don't think you will have trouble if you say to them exactly what you encountered and that you would prefer for the car to taken to your panel beater. When I was insured with AAMI I always found them to be very helpful and attentive, but I swapped back to RACV this year as I was not paying $100 a month to insure a Camry - how my excess went up when my Rating become 1 for life with no claims is beyond me. Best of luck with it all Davo, please let us know how it goes :)
  18. The inconsistency between states and how drivers are treated doesn't help either - when I went to Sydney for last year's annual meet whilst participating in the cruise I was severely tail-gated by what I later found out was a very specialised unit of police cars used in NSW. BG Pete has the photos to prove how dangerously he close he was and in the curves we were in he is very lucky that I backed right off to account for him, but the whole time down through those twists he pushed and pushed trying to force a mistake and accident. I was actually going to put a complaint in and then decided I didn't have the energy for it. So those kinds of officers certainly don't help the overall perception of the force. I am sorry to hear about the above in your case RedSportivo but as you have admitted it means you have definitely learnt your lesson, its unfortunate that for a lot of us we learn it the hard way after having things taken away. I am certainly no angel behind the wheel 100% of the time either, but I am definitely growing more respectful I guess you would say as I get older. You can never ever be too careful though, a lot of people mistakenly believe that its only the ones in the high powered cars hooning and causing accidents but it is just as easy to kill yourself or others in a Hyundai. For the hoon capital of Victoria as well Bendigo has got a lot of 'troublemakers' in Lancers, Mirages, Accents etc
  19. Actually surprised at the lack of police presence on the Hume Freeway over the weekend - I drove home to Bright on Good Friday and not a single car, only passed one patrol car driving the other way and that was between Rushworth and Murchison, small rural towns. Also surprised there was no Driver Reviver area set-up on the Hume despite the advertisements on TV. Apparently there were quite a few on the Calder FWY though, Barb travelled to Gisborne and there were several. Drove back to Bendigo on Anzac Day and didn't see a single car again, so there must have been more emphasis on the city than there was on the country. Odd considering Bendigo is the hoon capital of Victoria <_< Ditto with the above though, a lot of people need to get over the "police are bad" attitude, its a privilege to drive a car and its quite fortunate for some that we do not have harsher penalties for many crimes committed behind the wheel. So what if you get pulled over by an RBT and are 5-10 minutes late, they might just nab the drunk driver who can cause an accident further down the road.
  20. The more I think about Mt Macedon the more I like it :) And seeings Reece is organising something in the city for a Friday night we might as well head somewhere a bit different for the Sunday meet-up if people are still keen. I'll be at the footy on Sunday but am free Saturday to check it out, otherwise am thinking of just doing some meticulous planning and totally winging it
  21. Unless you're really keen on going bigger and thus changing a few things around, i.e. rolling guards, then its probably best to stick with either 18 x 8 or 18 x 7.5, I've got 18 x 7.5 and they fill out the guards a lot better than the 17s from stock, though there is plenty of space and I want to move to coilovers in the future. As Andrew said with lowering most likely the guards will need rolling, which isn't the biggest issue but if you don't want to modify then stick with 18s, as mentioned the tyres will be much cheaper too :) Plus there is a lot of choice in both wheels and tyres in that range too ;)
  22. Ah now it makes a bit more sense to me as a drift thing, I will slowly start to understand all these other modding influences :) They all go perfectly together though, good choice! Bugger about the wheels :( Next time?
  23. I'm fairly certain I was passed by a white Caldina on the way back home on Anzac Day, not far outside Bendigo on a back road that runs thru a "suburb" Ascot and into White Hills, rego YAExxx. No badges at all though, not even a Toyota emblem. I'm just looking at Google images to confirm what I saw lol, pretty certain it was one of the older gen ones :)
  24. Tash

    My ST246W

Hot, hot, HOT! :D Please, please, please bring it to one of our Melbourne meets!
  25. I'm not the biggest fan of this whole sticker thing, but mostly because I don't really understand it all. I must admit though they all actually suit and it looks quite nice, but I reckon that's only cos its you John :D
