  1. Definitely - I reckon it would come in very handy indeed, I've often founds lots of good things for the Camry/Aurion on my searches that I'm sure others would be interested in. Perhaps a pinned thread?
  2. Those photos are fabulous - what a great location! Definitely worth getting kicked out for So many lovely cars over in WA!
  3. Ouch! And I bet the monthly cost is pretty pricey? I understand your point of view much more now, for me its "only" $900 at the moment if I hit someone, next year when I turn 25 it'll be $450. It's pretty ridiculous how they work it all out though, different streets and different suburbs, and then because there are many accidents in Camry's they charge you more, that's not really fair when you consider how many Camry's are sold. I just changed mine back to RACV recently because AAMI's premium went up again, I couldn't believe there was an increase because I'd moved basically 1km from my old house, still in the same suburb and within 5 min walking distance of the CBD and they wanted another $6 a month. I know there's got to be some way to work out their premiums but some of the conditions seem pretty unfair, but I guess as with all insurance if you want it you have to pay for it (case in point, private health insurance has just had another price rise). Anyway, here's a new stupid question - Twitter. So I'm getting the concept of a #hashtag, basically I can use the # and put whatever I want after it? So the update I made today was that I wished I could be home playing #3DS instead of stuck at stupid #work, so it just means if people search for 3DS or Work my Tweet might come up in their feed? I'm trying to get into using it a bit more but can't say I'm really across it as yet, I was a slow adopter to Facebook too
  4. Looks like you all had a great time! :D The pictures look awesome - haven't had the opportunity to check out any of the video's yet. And what gorgeous weather, the footy was perfect too (Go Bombers!) Top stuff on all your results too
  5. But if the person was a good person, and had a option to pay 300 dollars instead of the insurance sending a quote for $1500. I rather help them out because we could be in a similar situation one day and karma's a B*tch That's only if they don't have insurance though - although I do get your point, it could be a 21 y.o with an excess of $900 or so dollars but still, that's what an excess is for. I just think its better to let the insurance handle it all on your behalf, that way you're not getting involved in making promises to someone and you've actually got proper record of it happening, otherwise it can all just break down into an I said/They said scenario, not much good to try and threaten them with insurance later on. That's just my thoughts anyway, because yes I agree karma is a b!tch but after all, you've got to protect yourself in these situations because no one else well. Best of luck with it all Synthetic05, just stay positive and do what you can do :) And then just think, when its back you're going to have a gorgeous shiny new rear end :D

  8. Only cos I live like 150km away! :P Have fun guys, won't be able to make it down for this one but hope to get to another Friday night meet in future :)
  9. IMO I would still go through insurance, even if it is only "just a scratch" - I had pretty much the same scenario in my old Camry, someone hit me from behind while I was stationary at lights. Even for a light hit it broke the board that sits over the spare wheel and put a few decent scratches on the bumper, the person who hit me said he knew a panel beater blah blah blah Easiest option for me was to go through insurance, when they're at fault they have to pay whatever their excess is, so too bad for them - they should have been paying attention and not hit you in the first place. Let the insurance company do all the running around chasing him up and all you have to do is take it to your choice of repairer :)
  10. thanks Tash...to be honest I wanted that gold colour of yr car or the light green one but they stopped doing those by the time I bought new :( but i'm more than happy with white in WA. This is my 3rd new white car. I guess I like the appliance look :D Ha well there you go - mine was a dealer demo, so not the colour I had in my head at all, but came along at the right time at the right price :) Though if someone had of said before I bought it that my next car would be gold I'd probably have said they were crazy! I love it now though :D The appliance look can work quite well though, I'm not a big fan of white cars but it actually works on the Aurion, especially with a few additions :D The wheels are the biggest change, goes from something somewhat ordinary looking to something spectacular, plus if they are clean they look fabulous too! Any more future plans? How are you finding the Pedders coilovers as your daily driver?

Awesome - I'm jealous about the coilovers part, one day I'll get there! TRD gear sounds great, as does the CAI :) Please keep the piccies coming
  12. Lulz! Got any other details? Maybe a colour? No spots for me other than continuing to be stalked by Cyber Green Camry Sportivo's - there are 3 in Bendigo we have worked out and we keep seeing one of them everywhere we go! I would be p!ssed off if there were more gold ones in town hahahahah
  13. Very nice! :) That driveway looks like fun to get in and out of
  14. Very nice looking Aurion! You guys in Perth have got it going on Go the scuff plates too, I absolutely love having those on my Camry :D
  15. There better be piccies up May 1st or heads will roll

Very nice looking 'Stivo :D And I'm with cruzer, it looks massive side by side with the crx Any future plans?
  17. Looking great Pete, definitely need to colour code the front lip though ;)
  18. Hey Dale, Barb and I are heading up in the Camry but we're leaving to do the drive the week before (starting Friday the 3rd and taking our time), so won't be able to head up with you. We can definitely make part of the return journey back with you though, we reckon we're gunna leave on the Monday unless we're too stuffed, then it'll be Tuesday. So can drive to the border with you then break off as we'll be heading to Bright on the way back.
  19. Just put a coat of wax on the car - wasn't as cold outside as I thought actually, quite nice weather for waxing :) Now along with the shine I've got gloss, car has come up brilliantly Need a full sun day to see if all of the swirl marks are gone but so far so good, a heap of the scratches (including the one that 'pushed me over the edge') are gone and the deeper ones are much less noticeable, very very happy :D
  20. Car is gorgeous - deep reflection and now a gloss from the wax :D Now to keep applying more coats over subsequent weekends...

  21. Can't say I've ever received a card and I've also got manufacturer's extended warranty, though I have had a bit of trouble with a local dealership claiming my car isn't under warranty. The advice I have received though from multiple Toyota dealerships is that as long as the car is serviced regularly and the items in the manual are covered off (i.e. components replaced at the recommended times) then warranty claims aren't an issue. I don't have my car serviced by Toyota because I'm not confident in the local dealership and when I had the boot leak (which was actually due to an accident that wasn't repaired properly, and I wasn't told this when sold the vehicle - long story short I fought and fought and the dealership I bought the car from paid for the car to be repaired properly) as well as an issue with the clutch I actually took it to the Wangaratta dealership, which is a good 230km away from where I live. So I've been pretty happy with the warranty conditions. I must admit I'm like Ronny though, I don't always wait for it to have clocked the 'necessary' K's, and sometimes feel it worthy of going to have a service earlier than this, although that said I'm a bit late with it this time due to some cash flow issues
  22. Dropped the car off at Panels and Performance - can't wait to see the results!! Then home to apply a coat of wax even though the wind is freezing and will require several layers of clothing <_<
  23. Hey addy - good update, glad you have now got her sitting perfectly :) Top stuff with the strut and sway, definitely going to be a lot of fun now!! Tint will look hot as well :D

Hahah, thanks Dutchie - I was getting rather confused! So I am probably best of getting the kit that does have CANBUS, as opposed to one that does not?

    3. .gorgz

      .gorgz

I worked on designing a CANBUS at uni for one of my projects. it basically controls most things like your heating/cooling, electric windows, central locking etc. quite fun stuff to play with if you know how though.. ahhhh i miss Uni

That's really cool .gorgz, thanks for shedding some more light :) I miss uni sometimes too, except for the long essays!

  24. +1 to all of the above! You HAVE to come to our Vic meets :D The front end is hot!
