  1. Turbo kit will be complete custom which will take a while. The Blitz S/C has recently been discontinued, but you might find some still available if your supplier is any good.
  2. With the SRI vs CAI battle. I have both, I just recently removed my CAI and put the SRI in. The SRI has really really good response, but no powre increase whatsoever. For daily driving though, I think a CAI would be a much better option as it allows you to drive your car more easier (from my experience anyway).
  3. I've found short ram intakes to have no noticeble power increase, you get better throttle response only. A CAI gives you the mid-high power boost that you want followed by a complete free flowing exhaust. Headers all the way to the muffler. A unichip or emanage blue will then bring out all the potential you want. Try to get into contact with grey-rolla. He has an Conquest pretty much modded to the max without FI and without opening up the engine.
  4. Silencers usually are available on cannons......
  5. I'm pretty sure a decent upgrade would be the sportivo caliper and disc, should be a straight sway over to zze122 corollas. Or you can try to get JDM ST185 twin piston calipers that bolt onto the stock disc (255mm), they are a confirmed bolt-on. ST202 calipers from the JDM superstrut celica have twin piston calipers that will bolt onto the sportivo no problems at all, only problem is sourcing those calipers in the firt place. If you happen to have access to a pair of ST205 calipers then you could try those, might need some spacers to centre the caliper over onto the disc though.
  6. CES is a very reputable shop, the name got dragged through some mud here previously but don’t let that bother you. I got a CES CAI, and although it cost me all up about $500 I have never regretted it at all. The quality of the product and its performance was very high, I think it performs better then the other CAI on the market. I go around roundabouts in third gear and its pulls away nicely, with the stock intake I need to be in 2nd gear, that shows how much of a difference it makes just with the intake alone. A nice on road comparison for people to judge.
  7. Thats kinda what I was referring to....kinda lost all my physics knowledge after uni lol....
  8. Booo.... Got the tein coilovers installed that I bought off morice a little while ago.......after installing it, I'm getting a constant knocking sound when I go over bumpy surfaces and the like. No probs on the super smooth motorways though. Any opinions guys.......besides don't buy second hand products :( The knocking noise is only fromthe front though, no problems with the rear....
  9. I suppose the new engine are geared towards much better economy, even with the excess weight involved. I don't see how going to better fuel will help, I think its all in the head. Now if you were tuned for it....
  10. *cough* Once you put the clutch in, the rpms drop according to the mass of the components connected to the flywheel............I really don't see how 'external'weight would affect the gear change in this instance.......it will affect acceleration obviously without a doubt
  11. Family dinner hasn't started yet..........argh........might be late lol
  12. Is APS at strathfield on parramatta road??
  13. IIRC lift is dependent on things such as warm up temperature and your oil pressure.........if the pressure is not right then it won't engage properly, so maybe the old filter was too restrictive. Make sure you always check the work that your mechs do, some are just down right dodgy and charge you for things they have never completed.
  14. I would expect most people to recommend konis, but then again they are not exactly cheap. You could also try the KYB, not sure about the part # though.
  15. Now that is an absolute bargain at that price for tuning and installation.
  16. IIRC a thicker front sway bar would increase understeer, and the stock sway is quite thick already IMO. If you have lowered springs, rear sway, front strut.....you could try for some more bracing....but I would looking into getting stiffer shock absorbers or coilovers although you mentioned that its not what your looking for.
  17. Never ever look at max output......doesn't mean crap if you ask me. Now if we look at the difference between the curves we see approximately a 6kw gain throughout the rev range but provided it produces the goods that you expected it to produce then we have a good result. if you don't mind how much was it all up?? Cheers
  18. Thicker sway bars will reduce the body roll more then front and rear strut braces............. Or you could go the whole way with coilovers, struts, swaybars, endlinks, suspension bushes, and alot of underbody bracing. If your after a quick and effective upgrade then nothing beats the installation of a thicker rear sway bar for your FWD car...your car feels very flat going around corners, but don't get too excited going around the corners too fast.
  19. I use the m5 to go to uni during my undergraduate years (about 4 years ago), and have recently returned to uni and its amazing the amount of increasing cars on the roads compared to 4 years ago. Before I could leave at 7 and arrive by 8............if I leave at seven now I get there around 8:30am......time to travel in my conquest instead of the sportivo.....its getting tiring
  20. lol stay away from the current generation of v8's I say, if anyone thought a sportivo could take them on then they are clearly dreaming
  21. I'm not sure if this is bad for your car or not, but when I shift gears driving 'normally', I make sure that the revs don't fall too much when I get to the next gear. In saying that when I get off the clutch the engine revs would climb prolly 200rpm above its previous point and once the clutch goes in with the gear change its all nice and smooth........I hope that makes sense...
  22. Who says straight line doesn't prove anything, launching (in this case 1-2 lift as well) is very important when it comes to the 1/4 mile drag.....what it doesn't prove is your skills on the circuit. If a rolling start then the sportivo would have the advantage..... But honestly how can you compare the two..... Sportivo Vs SS commodore lol SV6 has no chance as well
