  1. I don't have a wiring diagram but every time I have done it I have just used my multi meter.

Do you have a lock/ unlock button on the dash or is it on the door? use the wires from that to connect your after market kit.

  2. It doesn't state "back OFF again" like it does in another set of instructions I have.

    I didn't notice that, sorry.

The company that rewrote those instructions have just reworded the instructions from Toyota, and the Toyota ones aren't the best to follow at the best of times. The Toyota instructions go in to more depth explaining what the LED security light is doing and how to add/ delete remotes and keys.

  3. Hold the broken key next to your new key and try start the car.

Most likely there will be the transponder chip in your old key, if this is your only key and you haven't done it before I do not recommend cutting it out yourself, iif you damage the chip it gets expensive.

  4. First we would need to know where you are, In the USA new cars still come out without immobiliseres, so depending on where you are and what reigin your car is made for would depend on if it has a transponder or not. From your second post I would say that it is fittid with a transponder, What key do you have, the remote key or the rubber head key?

  5. Can you tell me how you went? What did you do? as I have found myself in the same situation. :(

Unfortunatly without the master Toyota are not your best option. As said an Auto Locksmith will be able to code new keys into your car and supply you with a new master key, this still isn't cheap but is a lot cheaper than going through the dealer.

  6. No point getting a key from Ebay then as you wont be able to code it in. You have 2 options,

    1. Get your existing key cloned but you can't get a remote for it this way

    2. Get your immobiliser reset and a Master key coded in.

The second option is a couple of hunderd dollars more but is the better way to do it as you can then have a master key.

IF you let me know where in Tassie you are I can let you know who can do it.

  7. The actuator for the rear doors are around $200 each just for the part so at that price they might not be new they are using. I did look that part up under 2006 Corolla, the part might vary for different grades ( But unlikely)

A fault code might come up with a diagnostic machine or at least might be able to check the actuators, it would be a pity to change them only to find it isn't that part. Who told you that was the issue, did they check anything?

  8. For future reference, used keys can be programmed but are very tricky - you need access to a head Toyota technician at their dealership. They call up Toyota for a code to "reseed" the cars computer and basically wipe all keys from the cars memory before adding them all back on.If you try to use a used key with the normal Toyota Techstream software - it won't be successful.

    Or see a Locksmith :) :)

I hope they find your key too.... I treat each of my keys as if they are worth $600... because they are.

When it's your only key you should price it at a lot more than that :)
  9. An expensive little toy, I suspect. Still, play on--you might prove us all wrong.

    What??

    Hey everyone,

I have recently bought a small waeco cooler and I'm thinking of taking out my centre console of my 94 dual cab hilux and replacing it with the waeco.

Does anyone have advice, pics of their own install/ideas, etc?

    Cheers

It would be nice having a cooler or fridge within arms reach. What cooler did you get, I have been thinking on and off about the same thing. I do think though that it might sit too high so it won't make a very good arm rest :)

  10. So is it not working at all?? you really haven't given much info.

Have you just installed it and non of the new head unit work or is it just the radio?

When installing it did you use a loom to connect it or solder the wires?

Have you gone back over what was done and checked that all the weires that are needed are connected. Is the plug for the arial connected.?

  11. have you tried Paradise Auto Wreckers on main north? They do have a lot of cars there only problem is everytime I call them for something they want that much for it I'm better of getting a new one. Also there is another big wreckers on North East road in Windsor gardens.

    Edit.

Do you have the part number for the cluster you are after?
