  1. not necessarily, if he puts off paying it for a month and then gains his green p's, then afterwards he can pay for the fine and then lose 3 points (provided that he hasnt commited any offences previously) and have 4 points left and he wont lose his license.. you need to re-read the new regulations for red P plate drivers... it does not matter how may points you have or haven't got, you speed at all, you will get your license suspended if you are caught.
  2. you're right, suspension... whatever http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/gettin.../200707_p1.html
  3. he's on his Red Ps which means automatic disqualification... live and learn...
  4. the SR20 and the 2ZZ-GE are very different engines mate. For starters the SR20 does not have 2 stage cam profiles like the 2ZZ this recovers some of the lost torque down low. Secondly, calculate the engine physics in terms of head speed velocity and you will see that 10k rpm is difficult to achieve with these engines as they are, if not impossible. It will require much more than forged pistons and rods to hold it together. You'd also have to look at shortening the stroke to bring the engine more over square in order to make it more reliable at those speeds.
  5. why, you would get better usable power from stroking the engine to 1.93L and once you do that you can kiss 10,000rpm goodbye because there is no way the engine would hold together at those speeds with the longer stroke. It would just barely make it (if at all) on the standard stroke.
  6. indeed, there are better options out there other than the TRD 'kit'
  7. I was going through my photos the other day and I've got a shot of it when it was still silver from the Toymods Mac Pass cruise a couple of years ago.
  8. I'm right here... and NIKICH is always parked in my street.
  9. Penrite Sin RBF600 which is about 2/3 the price of the Motul stuff is also good. I picked it up for $17.50 for 500mL from Repco which is not much more than the Castrol Super DOT4 I was using before.
  10. Fiji put up a strong fight but fell short. In the end South Africa were just too strong for them. Was a great game though :D
  11. you have to remember that at the end of the day, Subaru wants to win more WRC championships and with the removal of the prototype class and a return of Group N and Super 2000 as the top class car companies are making a push to release a competitive production model that will work in group N. The hatch redesign has allowed Subaru to improve their aero package, lighten the weight and greater flexibility in the rear suspension setup which is why I believe they took this direction, as opposed to any marketing ploy ;)
  12. no it's not, Devon tastes different.
  13. IT DOESN'T NEED A SILENCER!!!! this is not some fart cannon muffler we are talking about, it has a good sound that in all the time I had it on my car I never once heard a complaint. In that time I had my g/f, my mother, my father, my brothers and even my grand mother in the car and not one of them commented on the noise... now... stop making assumptions based on some Japanese Rice exhaust and listen to those with experience in the question you are actually asking...
  14. a silencer is a point of restriction, I don't see the point in paying the money for system like that, just to restrict it's output.
  15. put it this way... it's obviously not loud enough to draw attention for us to require getting it tested...
  16. it's true, it's only noticeably louder once you are in lift.
  17. take your pick, there was 1 with a 2JZ, 1 with a 1JZ with VVTi or one with a 1UZ with VVTi... I'd take the keys to any of them personally
  18. here's a few of mine for the day... I have about 100 in total, will post a link to my photobucket when I go through them all properly.
