  1. http://toyotafest.info/home.php there better be more people from here out there this year... it will be a MASSIVE show this year. Last year there was around 60-70 cars ranging from full show cars so dedicated drag and race cars down to stockers and street driven sleepers. Early estimates this year are that in excess of 100 cars will be on display.
  2. I was there last year with my old Sportivo. Was a popular car too narrowly missing out a couple of awards according to the judges.

  4. FFS, if Azza and Corey are gonna be there then I'll just have to drive up now then... I'll just clean the car in the morning. and Azza and Corey HAVE TO come out to Toyotafest on Sunday as well then too if they will be down. And Bill you MUST enter your car... I'll even pay your registration!!!!
  5. yep... making lift into 2nd gear is the key ;)
  6. the greying is from adhesion promoters they add to the primer diffusing to the surface of the added paint layers because you didn't let the primer dry properly.
  7. Yeah I agree!! come on bill...you can do it! or maybe not.. hahaha.. nah sorry mate ..... the turbo spool causes a sonic wave which scrambles electronic signals so the camera wont work :P :P seriously i will do once the car is completed and out @ wakefield being put to the test ;) every time I read a post like this from you Bill I think.... SOFT!!!! :P Dude I haven't even started the build on my car and I've already been out to Wakefield Park twice with it :P why? because I want to learn how the car behaves to the changes so I need to learn how the car performs on the track and be able to judge just what the changes do for the performance. All I can say is you will get a huge shock the first time you head out there and will be lucky to get under 1:20 for a lap, just like FLYNSX and Poggy did first times out. Poggy has now learned his car better and has dropped down to 1:15. Just get out there and DO IT!!!! SERIOUSLY!!!
  8. oh sorry my bad do i have to put it in dummy language no, you already did that... <_<
  9. dunno what's up with Corey... I was kinda thinking the same thing...
  10. this man has the answer... ;) 40psi is way too high, drop it back to 34-36
  11. so where is the actual information of the run or was the Max KW all you were worried about?
  12. Stop giving me material lol. I find going for a second (female) opinion to be the far better option...
  13. prior to getting the clutch adjustment done I had the same thing happen after a Dyno day. after the car came off the dyno I went for a drive and it slotted 2nd in lift easy... the next time I tried a few days later it wouldn't go again :(
  14. it's hardly a holiday... fly over, spend 5 days at a conference then 3 days travelling... where's the relax time, and don't tell me it's the 40+ hours flight time...
  15. I need my eyes checked... or a holiday I read 'D' not 'P' either way, shouldn't cause any issues, as long as the car isn't rolling at the time.
  16. interesting to see what you plan to do re. the turbo setup. PS. DON'T SKIMP ON BRAKES.
  17. considering that, that is the way you are supposed to do a hill start, I wonder why you think it should pose an issue?
  18. the difference is the retention of a factory warranty...
  19. if it's the same as the picture, it also doesn't seem to have anywhere for you to plug the MAF sensor.
  20. 1. Lift Bolts - I believe the lift bolts were revised by the time the Sportivo engine came out. 2. Over-Rev due to Missshifting - At the end of the day, it comes down to driver error. I don't know any engine that would look very healthy when you are at 8,200 rpm and you hope to go up to 5th and accidentally slot into 3rd. 3. Valve Springs - The guys here running the Apexi PFC have found an 8,500-8,600 RPM rev limit to be OK, it's only once you start to push 9,000 and beyond they problems arise. 4. Rod Bearings - I believe this is one of the reasons that Toyota recommend changing the oil every 5000 kms on these engines. I haven't look into alternatives but if/when I get the engine stroke kit they will of course be changed. 5. Oil Starvation - I'm getting the Moroso sump myself... no questions there at all. 6. Oil Pump Gear - prevention again here, it far better then the cure. Simply don't allow the pump to pass any air (see no. 5)
  21. just get one of the mods to change the title :)
