  1. it's got a couple of scratches on it, but will need to be prepared, primed and repainted anyway, but it's straight with no dents at all. I bought it off Sam (MRROLA) when I was getting my rear bar fixed, but they ended up fixing mine without using it.
  2. how do you know it's a she? and what's to say what 'normal' is... when was the last time you saw a mermaid
  3. you may even get lucky and be able to get an Aristo for that.
  4. If you are in NSW, I have one available, though it will need to be repainted. I will sell it for $100 if you are interested.
  5. it's a case of buyer beware I'm afraid.
  6. I have seen just how a 3S-GTE AW-11 handles and it's not pretty. I fear it is you who is mistaken... ;) Understeer into the corner is certainly not the issue, the complete opposite in fact. Swapping ends under braking, no mid corner stability and even a tendency to swap ends on hard acceleration are the main issues, particularly in the wet, which, as to your argument, I'm sure the everyday commuter would dread from a daily driver. It's fine in a fatter and heavier SW-20 chassis (to a point) but in the more nimble AW anmd ZZW it just doesn't have the right feel.
  7. spotted Lucida on said Toymods cruise, as well as Mark before hand. the wheels look great on that colour car Jesse :)
  8. Hate to say it but you are wrong there too. The weight balance of the ZZW30 with a 3S-GTE would be all wrong and provide very little mid corner stability and feel, and isn't enjoying corners what driving an MR2 is all about? At it stands they have a 45/55 weight balance and you want o put more weight in the rear? It may have mumbo down the straight but what's the point if you can't get the nose turned in at the end? Look at the lotus for the perfect solution ;)
  9. still too heavy, has the wrong weight proportions and drives from the wrong wheels...
  10. ...apart from the suspension :P agreed, but easily fixed :P how so...? I think he's referring to IRS vs Torsion beam...
  11. lol, that's about 3 years old and it was proven fake.
  12. anywhere between $3,000 to $6,000 depending on the day. Mine is insured for $6,500 as it stands. I bought it for $4,000.
  13. lol... that's hilarious did he retain bus tickets so he can claim the reimbursement while he was without transport ;)
  14. I've wanted to do the conversion for about 3 years. Originally I wanted to put a 2ZZ-GE into an old school celica but it too much hassle fabricating mounts if you don't know someone. The MR2 was the next option. Then I found the guy in the US that had performed it. Then I finally decided to go through with and and step 1 was achieved... I bought my MR2 After talking to people on Toymods about it more people have become interested as it's easier (in some ways, but more of a challenge in others) then a 3S conversion. It's also keeping with the spirit of the AW11 in that it produces a lightweight performance car where as the 3S adds a few kgs, but you can get nuts HP out of them though. There are a few threads on Toymods for this, but the best ones are those written by the guy in the US... google and you shall find... ;)
  15. Got more info on your build ? Like you using the 2zzge from stivo ? mine will not be done terribly soon as I don't have the space or finances right now. I'm hoping to use a celica rather than a corolla for the conversion though because of it's compatibility with the Apexi PFC. The process could be sped up if 1) the stivo sells soon 2) the engine in the MR2 dies (doesn't look like happening soon though as it's a pretty good engine from what I can tell).
  16. there's a 2ZZ-GE going into my AW11 there's also one going into an AW11 in WA
  17. If you want light, an AE82 would be better. As far as I'm aware the 2ZZ-GE should fit.
  18. taking it to 9,500 when you shift into second your engine will burst a hole in the side... just ask Corey.
  19. transition at ~5,800 and limiter at ~8,600 seems about perfect, right Bill, Corey?
  20. I said it was difficult, not impossible ;) anything is possible with the right money and people.
  21. yes... that however does not stop someone rocking up with a tilt-tray and dragging the car away. ;)
  22. There's a difference between policing and harassment. I'm not saying the second doesn't happen, as I know it does, but I've never had any issues with any of the cops I've ever dealt with, even the one who gave me my speeding fine and 3 month suspension. Police can make a difference just by having a presence, there is only a need to book someone when they do something illegal. In most cases, when people see a police car on the road, they take more care, this is all I'm saying.
