  1. they were $29,990 band new, dropped to $28,990 about mid 2005, that does not include ORCs though.
  2. meh, mines still priced $3000 cheaper then they are in the car yards.
  3. oh dear... 1) Search 2) Old news 3) designed for LHD vehicles 4) does not fir ours 5) Search
  4. Pretty sure I've still recorded the highest output for a stock example... BTW dynos mean bollocks...
  5. Is it the white one with '154 kW' or the silver one with '147 kW' you are talking about? Either way they don't know what they are talking about. Unless they have cracked the engine open and stroked and/or cammed them they won't make that power at least without having a noticeable turbo of Supercharger bolted on. All Sportivos come with the 141 kW engine (about 110kW at the wheels) if they tell you otherwise they are either not telling you something, or they are flat out lying and don't know what they are talking about. secondly... just buy mine :P http://www.carpoint.com.au/used-car/TOYOTA....aspx?State=NSW
  6. I'll take ya... Cadel is still in it. I wonder how much energy reserves Rasmussen has left after his Time Trial and yesterdays effort. There are still plenty of Mountains to climb. There have also been questions raised at Rasmussen for the last 3 years since he first won the KOTM so emphatically.
  7. they certainly do look the Biz... I think you need some ;) and it's $160 actually.
  8. I don't think so, not without a spacer for the caliper.
  9. how? dodgy no not having anything at all and coolant splashing out onto the track. It's only purpose is to contain overflow, it doesn't need to be a metal box. Plus plastic bottles are easy to tell what the level of overflow is, and inspect when you need to empty it.
  10. That's quite common for a coolant overflow container. They even pass CAMS scrutineering like that.
  11. I think we need the Dyl-miester to comment the parts supplier sold read the old 2005 RDA catalogue so I was given slotted rotor for the standard corolla (255mm not 275mm) the Sportivo ones are ~$280 for the pair. The error was only picked up when they were fitting the discs at service because I was too busy to measure them myself and I trusted the parts people... never again... so the offered me my money back or an exchange + $$ for the difference... I took the money back as the service, and hence a chance to get them fitted, has passed. Plus my standard rotors are still fine. But for those interested in part numbers 1ZZ-FE corolla front rotors - RDA7779 2ZZ-FE corolla front rotors - RDA7784
  12. that's on a 1ZZ-FE with 255mm discs though... Sportivos already have larger (275mm) discs with greater braking efficiency. What model GT4 are then from, and what size rotors is he running? There is greater benefit from larger rotors than going from single to twin piston calipers. What is the relative piston areas of the Sportivo single vs the GT4 twins?
  13. aggreeeeeeeeeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she loves to rev and gets awsome fuel consumption so why bother with keeping the revs so low .... it almost seems like the tacho is incorrect (for example 2,000 revs in a honda civic is equivalent to like 3,000 in our sportivo) drive her like she is sposed to be driven !! :) It's got nothing to do with driving the car hard, it's to do with the fact that these cars don't like to have pressure through the drive train when the revs are below 2000 RPM. The 'sweet spot' for 'everyday driving' is between ~2200 and 4500. My car never falls bellow 2000 rpm when on the street if I can help it. This is one reason why the car is not ideal for stop-start traffic as has been a criticism often mentioned by a particular Melbourne member.
  14. It's normal, it's just the clutch and flywheel working hard because you aren't using enough revs and it's almost stalling. Blip the throttle a bit and it will be all good, you can't drive this car like an auto...
  15. It takes you guys 2.5 hours to get here, that's not that long :P plus you're only 45 minutes from Wakefield Park.
  16. Don't worry, the mountains are extremely tough this year, so there is still plenty of action to come. At least Cadel is still there and fighting though the other riders seem a bit ****** off by him because he doesn't do much work at the front of the group and is just a passenger for the most part.
  17. Foxtel has the rights to the Asian Cup finals, bought them some time ago in fact.
  18. this Wednesday will also be fairly busy as it looks like the first fine day/night for quite a while, and is also the 6 monthly Toymods social night there so if you are going hoping to get 5-6 runs you can forget it.
  19. I used to take mine to Cornes Toyota on Unley Road, Hawthorn before I moved over east, that was only the 1st 15,000 kms though.
  20. Toyo Proxes are the best bang for buck. I have Proxes 4 on the MR2 and they are pretty nice. Great response and awesome wet weather handling. Other then that, Pirelli Dragon aren't too bad either. I find Jax-Quickfit to be a great place to buy because they can get anything in for you as they are not bound to any particular brands, and are often the best prices going around too.
  21. not a good day for the Aussies with Rogers and O'Grady both falling and abandoning :( Rogers was pushing to take the Yellow for the day too as he looked to be running with Rasmussen quite well to that point. My pick from day one was Carlos Sastre ans I still stand by that.
