  1. nice work again Neil, will definitely be interesting to see what happened to the brakes.
  2. I suppose it needs an O-tube exhaust to go with it as well
  3. can I just bump this thread again to say... no, I really didn't
  4. Being Aussie, is being jovially drunk... not hammered. Binge drinking is wrong and does serious damage to your health, both physical and mental. Nothing wring with being 'nicely drunk' or 'a bit tipsy' but you need to know your personal limits. Even though your mate can knock back 7 coldies in an hour and still be coherent, doesn't mean everyone can... or even has to.
  5. #1 - linky no worky #2 - REPOST x 1,000,000,000,000 #3 - is a piece of junk... perhaps you would like to add some fuel polarisers to that order...
  6. Happy hours should be just that... 1 hour, early in the night to get patrons through the door. rotating happy hours is the problem, where they put a certain, different, drink on sale every hour, for an hour. People just rotate their drinks through the night depending on what is cheap. I know that's what I did in my undergrad days, used to cost me about $15 for a night out on the town. Now I'm lucky to get 3 beers for that. I think people need to take more responsibility for their own actions and know what their limits are.
  7. nope... were you gone?
  8. I just used to flood the whole thing with contact cleaner and let it sit and dry for a while. no need to disassemble anything.
  9. it's looking sexy on Stivo rims too :D
  10. Add - the toothbrush fence* it's now got 50 toothbrushes. How amazing is a fence that's made entirely from toothbrushes...? http://www.tepahu.co.nz/toothbrush.htm *flight of the concords reference :P
  11. 'flywheel' readings are fudged anyway. The only way to get a true flywheel reading is pull the engine out and stick it on an engine dyno.
  12. awesome stuff that extra 0.1kW makes all the difference :P
  13. Beautiful result Mick. Mine pulled 119.8 with exactly the same mods :D
  14. Did anyone mention ZORBING in Rotorua yet!!!!!
  15. I noticed they did the crushing cars story again last week... they must be VERY light on for stories lately
  16. Dr Trama may see the engine at some point, but it will be after I get it all installed properly and running well. Why would the stroker kit not work with the PFC?
  17. I know a great place in Rotorua, I'll pm you if you are interested, giggity they will even 'entertain' your mrs Micky ;) I spent 5 days in Rotorua for a conference 2 years ago so saw most of the stuff tom do around there. 1. ZORBING!!!!! 2. Visit the thermal spa!!!! 3. Hire mountain bikes and head up to the Redwood Forest 4. White water rafting ... there are a pile of other things to do there as well, it's worth a couple of day stay there as it's quite a pleasant place to be once you get used to the smell. Other than that I've only seen Auckland, but the Skytower is well worth a visit, as it the bridge climb over the harbour.
  18. Yes you can. It's a fairly popular engine conversion in the US and Japan but it's not done here because not only do you need a 2ZZ, you need a 6-speed gearbox (which is not available in Australia) to replace the SMT gearbox (SMT doesn't work well with a 2ZZ). Does the Corolla/Celica box not fit? I suppose the next option would be to look at what Lotus is using in the Exige. because the engagement is all electronically controlled with then SMT it's not quite that simple. You need to basically do a complete auto-manual conversion including clutch, selector cables, shifter mechanism, a different shifter housing, etc. The conversions performed before have all been on the JDM manual version of the MR-S with is way more simple a procedure.
  19. Since Toyota don't make a decent sized wagon with a good towing capability, we bought a Mitsubishi Verada wagon. Looked at a HiLux Surf 3.0L TD but Cici said it was TOO BIG for her to drive, so the Bitsamissing was a good compromise. But I now have a car capable of towing the MR2 (once I get a tow bar fitted), but space is still an issue... as now is funds again since a few $Gs have gone into the new car. :( Oh well... the big bucks will be rolling in from July so thing should progress towards the end of the year.
  20. Just thought I'd update, that we have bought a new blue car to replace the Blue Stivo finally :) pics to come... but it's not a Toyota :(
  21. very nice car :) MR2 - mid engine, runabout, 2 seater MR-S - mid engine, runabout, spider there you have it ;)
  22. should be on the crank pully I would have thought.
  23. whichever are closest to you. I go to the one in Fairy Meadow but that's probably too far of a drive for you :P
