  1. best option for ADR are VELO seats as they are Australian made. They are also CAMS approved and some are even FIA approved while still retaining their ADR approval.

J_J, I applaud you on doing exactly the right thing and ignoring it. Sure it feels like ***** sometimes but you need to remember that in most cases these people are only making noises to get your attention and to get a reaction from you. The saddest part of all this is that it was a kid being rude... he had to learn that behaviour from somewhere Kenneth - your response would have only created more hatred and escalated things.
  7. Hi, do you still have the bumper for sale ? My wife has a 2005 Accent, do you know if it will fit ? sorry, I don't read every thread, so missed this. pm may have helped ;) no I don't have the bumper any more as it went to the new owner of my car when I sold it.
  8. very nice choice of cars, still one of the best chassis that Toyota have ever built :) but yeah... more specs please ;)
  9. there's a couple of pairs on Toymods right now.
  10. actually no it's not. There is less throttle applied when coasting downhill in gear then there is when you roll in neutral ans that is what dictates the fuel usage.
  11. I below Rugby is League :P
  12. soooo, you're just auditioning, and not actually going to be on the series... SERIOUS!!!
  13. thats what i thought too, it's like getting defected for changing the colour of the car to pink or something oh well i'm still going to paint my calipers red anyways, just wondering if anyone eles has heard of anything like that. you can actually be defected for respraying the car in another colour and not notifying the RTA (vehicle colour is recorded on the Rego)
  14. Impossible as you have not changed anything mechanical on the car. That's like saying you'll get defected for swapping the headunit.
  15. but they aren't talking about removing all the GST, only the portion ontop of the excise
  16. This is true, if the government charged GST purely on the fuel and not the fuel+excise it would drop the price by ~4c/L as I explained earlier. I also explained that this would do unnoticed to the general public if it were to happen as it's such a piddly amount.
  17. Jimmy is right, which is why I find the debate that has been going on in parliament of late almost laughable, and both parties realise this and acknowledge the fact (Shadow treasurer Malcom Turnbul said as much on radio and the Labor party stands by the defence that they have no baring on the global oil prices). The argument of giving either (a) 5c/L flat discount across the board (the Liberal policy in response in their shadow budget) or (B ) around a 4c/L discount by removal of the GST component on the Fuel Excise Tax, would be swallowed up within a week and virtually go unnoticed by the general consumer or Coles and Woolworths will keep the prices stagnant for a little while longer (pocketing the 4 or 5c/L difference in the meantime) such is their hold in control of the pricing structure of petrol in Australia. The sad truth is there is nothing much that can be done unless they can get the OPEC nations to agree to increase supply.
  18. if the 1UZ has a blower on it or a couple of turbos... that's a completely different matter ;)
  19. there should be no legal worries at all with dropping the 1UZ-FE into the chaser, would be an awesome conversion and bring the centre of gravity of the vehicle back a little which will improve the handling. Just be sure to get it properly engineered. Incidently, you could buy a 1UZ-FE powered Aristo. They did come like that from the factory, with 4 wheel drive as well. There are a few of them floating around in Australia already and they come up for sale every so often.
  20. Just a couple of things I've picked up on, only just read though the thread I'd take the Redline Lighweight Shockproof out and swap it for Redline MT90. The redline shockproof is not that great with synchromesh gearboxes and it sounds like your synchros are already on the way out, so to the MT90 may be better which it known to smooth out notchy gearboxes. I know this is an expensive exercise, but it's cheaper than a new gearbox. Bollocks... I found the rear swaybar to have greater influence with coilovers as it added to the chassis rigidity. Coilovers by their nature put more stain on the chassis due to the reduced suspension travel so the car tends to flex more than with the standard suspension. The rear swaybar reduces this by keeping the difference in travel from side to side in cornering to a minimum.
